Slightly shorter, Ena reached up to pat Stelle head gently. The action came so naturally it almost felt unfair.
"No, seriously…" March 7th face darkened with visible annoyance at the sight in front of her.
Not long ago, Ena had been talking and laughing with her and Dan Heng.
Now, all of that attention had shifted to Stelle.
The warmth between them made March 7th puff her cheeks, slipping into a quiet, cat-like sulk.
"March? Are you feeling unwell? Your expression looks very uncomfortable."
Seeing March 7th looking like she was about to explode Ena instinctively leaned in and touched her forehead.
"I-I… I'm fine. With a new member now, let's keep moving" March 7th turned away, trying to hide the faint blush on her face.
"What about you, Dan Heng? Are you alright?" Ena asked, shifting her attention to him.
"No issues" Dan Heng replied, his gaze quietly shifting between March 7th and Stelle.
"If there's nothing urgent, we should move. There could still be survivors waiting" Ena said.
"Okay, Mommy!" Stelle said, casually resting the bat on her shoulder.
"...Got it" March 7th said, shooting Stelle a quick side eye.
"Understood" Dan Heng said calmly, silently observing the dynamic between them.
The original team of three had now expanded to four as they continued their search.
They moved forward with irresistible force and soon found Arlan, the Head of Security of the Space Station.
He had taken multiple injuries while escorting the Scholars to safety. Ena used the Power of Abundance to heal him, and once recovered, he joined their group.
(Current Task Progress: 21/100.)
…
"I'll stay behind. Those injured Scholars need me more" Ena said as she turned toward Arlan.
Arlan studied her with slight surprise, but recalling her earlier healing, he let his doubts fade
"I'm deeply grateful, Miss Ena" Arlan nodded.
"Mommy Ena… are you leaving?" Stelle asked softly, her eyes filled with unease.
Stelle, who wasn't even a day old yet, had no real understanding of what separation meant.
The little raccoon face showed a look of grievance, as if fearing that her mom, whom she had only just met, would disappear forever like that purple figure.
"It's only for a while, not forever. Don't worry" Ena reached out and gently patted her.
"After all, I'm just a healer and don't have powerful strength like yours. While I can handle some logistics, I think you can overcome the challenges ahead even without me."
"Don't worry, it won't be for long. I'll rejoin you after I finish treating those injured Scholars" Ena explained with a gentle smile. Her little baby had not yet become anything else.
She was still dazed and pure, like a small cupcake untouched by the world.
"So… you're coming back, right?" Stelle asked, her gaze fixed on her.
"Of course. Believe me, my little baby. Everyone walks their own path. Ahead of you is where you'll prove yourself" Ena raised Stelle hand and guided it to her heart.
"Mm! I will do my best, Mommy!" Stelle replied, nodding with bright determination.
"I believe in you, my little star" Ena said softly, her voice full of love.
"Alright! Let's go! let's go! don't dawdle here. Ena going to the safe zone to treat those injured people is a perfect match for her class. Besides, it's much safer there than ahead."
The pink-haired girl grabbed Stelle hand and pulled her forward. and Dan Heng followed closely behind. Feeling the dense aura of Abundance around him gradually weaken, he also felt much better.
"Miss Ena, please follow me" Arlan stepped forward to lead the way.
…
"Sorry, Miss Ena, may I ask you a question?" Arlan asked along the way.
"Please, go ahead" Ena nodded.
"For what reason did you choose to walk the Path of Abundance, and for what reason did you become a Trailblazer?"
"Abundance… I don't remember clearly. Maybe I will in the future."
"As for becoming a Trailblazer… I was drifting through the universe until the Astral Express found me and brought me aboard. After that, I grew interested in their way of life and chose to join them."
"Roaming the sea of stars and traversing the galaxy… it's quite romantic" Arlan said, glancing at the sea of stars outside.
"It does. Many people dream of such a life" Ena replied with a faint smile.
"…we've arrived."
They stopped in front of a sealed door.
"They're mostly students. None of them have seen war before. Some are critically injured. Others… their bodies are fine, but their minds aren't."
"Please, help them, Miss Ena" Arlan bowed to her.
"Leave it to me" She nodded.
Beyond the door were young faces... too young for this. Some wept quietly, missing home. Others trembled as they spoke of the monsters.
Without Ena, many of them could endure until it was over.
But that didn't mean they wouldn't suffer.
Ena raised her hand, and a gentle Power of Abundance flowed into the student's wounds. While performing the treatments, she carefully comforted those around her. Some her age, some even younger.
In a memory forgotten during her simulations, she had done something similar.
As she continued healing and soothing those around her, her attention was drawn to a student wearing a clown mask.
'That clown-masked gives me a bad feeling' Ena thought, her gaze briefly shifting toward him.
'When she heals… she really resembles THEM. With that kind of blessing, even being pierced wouldn't matter, right?' the clown-masked student thought. 'Maybe… I should try something fun.'
Just as Ena was about to investigate the unidentified student wearing the clown mask, a massive sound rang in her ears.
A large hole was punched through the once indestructible wall, and a Trampler burst in.
Its four iron hooves struck the deck, emitting an unsettling aura. It quickly drew its bow and arrow, aiming at a student beside Ena.
The action was so fast that even Arlan could not stop the speeding arrow.
The arrow was cold, carrying the aura of Destruction. From the instant it was released, its outcome felt inevitable.
There was no time to question how the Trampler got inside.
Ena only knew one thing. If she did nothing, the girl beside her would die.
The girl stared at the incoming arrow, despair filling her eyes. She had left home to chase her dreams at the Space Station… but fate did not wait for dreams to come true.
Her eyes shut.
And then someone stepped in front of her.
"Miss Ena!!!" Arlan roared at the top of his lungs.
Life is precious. Its birth is a miracle in this universe. Life is accompanied by pain, but people cannot live in pain forever. Therefore, someone will step forward to lighten that pain and shield others from unknown disasters.
Even if it brings them no benefit.
