Morris didn't want to hide it, but he was also completely baffled and naturally couldn't explain it.

  Maybe that's talent.

When they reached a fork in the road, Hagrid suddenly stopped.

  "What's wrong?" Maurice asked alertly.

"Something's approaching," Hagrid replied curtly, shielding Maurice behind him and keeping his eyes fixed on what was behind them.

Just as Morris was reacting, something suddenly whistled out from the dense forest.

  "hiss--!"

A sharp whooshing sound rang out as a spear grazed Hagrid's leather coat and embedded itself in the dirt at Maurice's feet.

  Who is it!?

Hagrid roared and immediately spread his arms to completely shield Maurice behind him.

Morris looked down at the spear. The wooden shaft was polished to a very smooth finish, and the spearhead was completely embedded in the ground, indicating that the person who used it had used tremendous force.

  It's highly likely he's not a wizard.

Hagrid seemed to realize something and shouted in the direction the spear had come from, "I am Hagrid!"

A rustling sound came from the woods, and a tall figure slowly emerged.

It was a half-human, half-horse creature with a dark body and hair, exuding a wild aura.

"Bane?" Hagrid breathed a sigh of relief. "Why did you attack us?"

The centaur named Bane ignored Hagrid and instead fixed his gaze on what was behind Hagrid.

"Hagrid!" His voice boomed like thunder. "Tell me, what's behind you?"

Chapter 30 Double Curse

  "Behind you?"

Hagrid paused for a moment, then stepped aside from Maurice behind him and explained in a gruff voice, "A little wizard. In your terms, a wizard cub."

A sense of confusion arose in his heart.

Normally, centaurs, while not welcoming wizards to set foot in "their forbidden forest," are generally quite restrained.

This time, Bane attacked them directly with spears, which was an unusual phenomenon.

The centaur had never shown such an aggressive side to him before.

  "Wizard cub?"

Bain's gaze shot towards Maurice like a sharp sword, and Maurice looked back at him without flinching.

"Not a good person," Maurice thought.

But he didn't want to cause trouble.

He cleared his throat and asked, "Is there a problem?"

Bain's nostrils flared slightly, his expression one of undisguised disgust. "Can't you smell the stench emanating from yourself, you wicked creature?"

Morris frowned. "If there's nothing else, I'm leaving."

  He turned to leave.

The centaur in front of me... its manners are questionable.

What nonsense are you talking about?

A creature that is both putrid and evil—this is clearly not a compliment.

But he was too lazy to investigate further and didn't want to talk to a guy who spewed nonsense.

  "Wait a moment."

As Bane's voice rang out, his massive body blocked Morris's path.

He gripped the spear stuck in the ground with one hand, and with a little force, pulled it out, sending up a spray of dirt.

The spear twirled nimbly in his hand; though the tip wasn't pointed at anyone, its obstruction was very clear.

Morris knew he was in trouble. He didn't understand what he had done to offend this centaur.

"You cannot leave, cub," Bain said coldly. "You carry something extremely evil within you, a great threat to this forest. You must be examined by us before you can leave."

Upon hearing this, Hagrid immediately stepped forward, his tone filled with displeasure, "Bane! What do you want to do?"

He knew he had to be tough now.

Other centaurs might be easier to talk to, but Baine is among the most hostile to wizards in the centaur community.

However, his tough stance did not seem to work.

"Hagrid, I have no intention of being your enemy," Bane said firmly. "Have your cub come with me. If the examination is fine, he will return unharmed. We never harm innocent creatures. Besides, this is for your own good."

Hagrid's thick eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at Maurice, his tone softening slightly. "Maurice, what do you think? Centaurs aren't bad people; they're just exceptionally cautious. Bain may have a bad temper, but he never lies."

Morris could sense the difficulty in his words.

  but...

"I must refuse," Maurice said expressionlessly.

Just kidding, a stranger from an unfamiliar species suddenly appears and wants to take him away, who knows what will happen?

Moreover, this guy is clearly full of malice.

"That's not your choice, cub." Bain's voice deepened as he took two steps closer to Morris.

Hagrid instinctively stepped between the two.

"It's alright, Hagrid," Bane told him. "I won't hurt him, I just need to take him somewhere."

  Hagrid's expression visibly wavered.

While he hesitated, Bain had already walked up to Morris.

He reached out and clamped his hands around one of Maurice's arms.

Morris looked at his thick arms and knew he couldn't match his strength.

He raised his chin and looked directly into Bain's eyes.

"Let go." The voice was surprisingly calm.

Bain's hand remained motionless as he said in a low voice, "You have no choice."

  Morris sighed silently to himself.

Since the other party insists on using violence, there's no way he can refuse.

Fortunately, he had already become proficient in using the two curses he had mastered.

  "The Curse of Weakness!"

  "Wailing Curse!"

As he drew his wand as a disguise, two spells were already rapidly chanted from Maurice's mouth.

There were no exaggerated special effects, only two almost imperceptible dark streams of light that quickly coiled around Bane's arm like snakes and disappeared into his body.

  "What?"

Bain shuddered, an unprecedented feeling of weakness washing over him, and his arm gripping Morris trembled uncontrollably.

His power is being rapidly drained away!

At the same time, a sharp, soul-piercing howl exploded in his mind, instantly making him feel dizzy.

  It's magic!

  "you--"

Bain was both shocked and furious, completely unprepared for the seemingly weak wizard child before him to possess such bizarre power. Moreover, he hadn't even clearly seen the other's movement as he swung his wand.

He tried to clench his fists, but the soreness in his muscles and the noise in his head prevented him from doing so.

Morris seized the opportunity, jerking backward to break free from Bain's grasp.

He quickly took two steps back, his eyes cold.

Hagrid was stunned by this sudden turn of events and stood frozen in place, unsure of what to do.

"This centaur," Maurice said expressionlessly, "is hardly something to boast about, as he bullies a little wizard who has just turned eleven."

After saying that, he added two more curses: Wailing Curse and Weakness Curse.

Since quality is not good, then let quantity win!

Four dark streaks of light shot out and precisely pierced Bane's chest.

This time, the effect was even more obvious.

Bain let out a muffled groan, his legs buckled, and he almost collapsed to his knees.

His physical weakness and constant mental disturbances almost made him unable to stand.

"What kind of evil magic are you using!" Bane's voice became hoarse and weak.
