Chapter 3 - Tale #1.2: The Entity and Memories

A place beyond the reach of light. A room, or rather a place that all black, all dark no matter how far eyes could see, Darkness stretched into infinity. A room where even the end or the horizon was not visible. In the center of this nothingness stood a lone woman, a beacon of vibrant life in a graveyard of shadows.

She was standing or perhaps, flying? To the naked eyes, It felt like she was standing on an invisible floor.

She was breathtakingly beautiful. Her hair, the color of a lush forest after a spring rain, cascaded down her back until it brushed against the backs of her knees. She wore a simple, flowing green dress that draped over her form like a second skin, yet even the heavy fabric could not mask the staggering curves of her silhouette.

Her arms were crossed beneath her ample Chest, Supporting the weight of Two Organic Masses which were too Ample to ignore or to stay hidden under her Dress.

In the void before her, a holographic screen pulsed with a dying light.

-Bzzt.. bzzt..

The feed was a mess of static and interference. The image or the video was flickering Violently, too much to distinguish if it was a slideshow of Photos or a video. Even the sound was not clear. It as if there was an interference in the connection.

The screen showed a bloodied body lay sprawled in the center of a gray highway. A crowd had formed, their faces blurred by the low-quality resolution—vultures of curiosity circling a corporate casualty.

The woman watched the scene, her eyes unreadable "Nickil Dash," she whispered, her voice like wind through leaves "A corporate slave, an unworthy son, an unworthy friend. Lost too many of his family members, even the man he considered to be his big brother and even his Best Friend."

She paused for a second, brought her one slender hand close to her cheek before continuing "A life full of regrets. How pitiful. How truly pitiful"

With a graceful motion, she touched the screen and swiped to the right. The static vanished instantly. The flickering interference was replaced by a crystal-clear, high-definition feed that made the previous video look like a faded memory.

The screen now revealed a room of staggering opulence. So luxurious that it felt like a room straight out of a Medieval King's Palace. In that room, Amidst the silks and the carved oak, A young boy lay sleeping, his breathing deep and peaceful.

The woman leaned in. she Moved her finger and zoomed in the Boy's face, until every lash was visible. "Although, your life was pitiful in the past, Until the very end. And maybe that woman's curse might have played a huge part in it. Now that life has ended, Thankfully. And Now that the curse will be gone, How will you fare this Time? My dear Ty..."

The woman flashed a beautiful smile at the boy in the screen. So beautiful that it could topple kingdoms. But The Smile looked like a motherly loving caring smile or rather the smile of an aunt after meeting her Adorable nephew.

-Snap!

She snapped her fingers as another hologram screen opened at the side. This screen did not play any video. Instead, it looked like the Status window of a gaming character, with slots for Name, Title, Skills etc.

The first line of the screen was [NAME: TYLER VON REGULUS]

The woman's slender fingers danced across the rows of skills, titles, and other elements. Her expression was one of focused concentration, like a master clockmaker fine-tuning a gear.

"Sorry," She whispered an apology into the silence of the void "But for now... I have to lock these."

On the other hand, in the video screen a ripple moved across the video feed. Inside the luxurious palace room, a tiny orb of emerald light—no larger than a firefly—manifested out of the stagnant air. It hovered for a heartbeat, pulsing with a rhythm that matched the sleeping boy's pulse, before shooting forward like a guided arrow. It struck The Boy's forehead and vanished instantly, merging with his consciousness without a sound.

On the other side, The woman withdrew her hand from the status screen, her work complete. She looked back at the first screen.

She reached out, her index finger gently tapping the glass over the boy's nose in a playful, affectionate gesture.

"I shall keep an eye on you, Little Ty" She promised, her smile widening. "Try to live up to your Convictions this time around."

-Gasp!

I opened my eyes.

-Pant.. Pant..

"huh... huh.. what.. was that... these memories ?"

I woke up with a jolt and looked around my room. A king size bed, golden cup and kettle on a luxurious table, a luxurious study desk. Over all, it was a luxurious room.

Yes, it was my room.

I got out of the bed and looked in the mirror and there i saw cute child of about six years old. He has raven black hair and amethyst purple eyes. A striking combination, i would say.

"Is this... me ?"

I looked closely at the mirror.

"No, of course its me. I am Tyler Von Regulus, The third prince of the Regulus human nation."

I fell back onto the bed and squeezed my eyes shut.

"Earth, Nick, Mom, Dad, School, science, Computer, Games, Truck... what are these memories then ?"

A lot of familiar yet unfamiliar images came flooding into my mind. My head starts to hurt all of a sudden so I got up.

"No, I actually know what these are. these are, with no doubt the memories of my past life, when i was Nick, a normal software engineer on earth who died at the age of twenty three in a truck accident"

Its as if a seal, deep in my soul has finally been unleashed

For now, That's just an assumption, though.

Seems like i have been reincarnated but for some reason my memories were sealed and have awakened just now.

maybe twenty three years old worth of memories would have been too much for a young brain

And so these memories somehow got sealed.

"Whatever. I never thought i would get a chance to reincarnate in another world like those light novels, i read. And that too, in this world. I gotta Thank you a whole lot, truck-kun."

Yes, 'this' world. I happen to know a lot about this world from my past life as a gaming nerd. This is without a doubt, the world of an academy Romance Fantasy Action RPG game, I used to play ...Maybe. I'm not sure. It can also be a different world with a few similarities. But, if it really is that same world...

Then, this is not just a simple reincarnation but rather a transmigration in a game.. but first...

"Let's see what is my situation in this world, if we go by the game lore."

Tyler Von Regulus, a mob villainous character in the game 'Mage academy Saga'. He was pretty popular among female players because of his handsome character design and was even among the top five in male character popularity poles.

He was a prince who was hailed as genius and magic prodigy in his childhood but grew up to be a calculative snake.

"So, What do i do now ?"

It's not like Tyler was a character who would die for the development of the story. Or something like that, in the story, much like those typical manhwa, as far i know.

In fact, Despite being so handsome enough to be a player favorite and having an excellent background and a good premise, He never got much attention in the story.

It's like the story writer hated him so much that he did not allow him to become a hero but he did not want to give him enough attention to make him to be a villain either. The opposite of Love is Indifference, after all. So The writer ignored him. And So, Tyler was just a mob.

So, there is no need to take some extreme measures to prevent some death flag, like those manhwa protags.

Normally the protagonists make a plan to avoid death and live a happy slow life in some country side village, farming magical apples, away from his family, power struggles and last but not least, the original main game characters.

"Making a plan following those stupid manhwa protagonist's footsteps would be a hasty choice. So, let's see what options have i got, first"

I sat on my desk and opened my personal diary and note my options. Since i don't want anyone to find this out, lets use English. So! i have three options....

One, participate in the tough royal succession war for the throne despite having the least chances of winning.

No support, no grand lineage and my mother is the king's third wife, no better than a concubine. So, getting support from other nobles is difficult if not impossible.

Second, marry myself off to a single daughter from a good noble house and become a good house husband and become a pampered pet to my sugar mom--ahem, i mean, Rich wife.

Third, my mother is a baronet, the second lowest noble title in this kingdom and thankfully, she owns a good amount of territory away from the capital. If i become her successor, i can a live happy and slow life.

"hmm..." I looked at the paper and contemplated.

The Second option is pretty good but an absolutely No-go. No way my pride will allow me to become a house husband. In marital relationships, where woman hold the power, the husband hardly ever gets a happy ending.

The third option is something any typical protagonist would choose and it is the most feasible and the most stable one. maybe i should choose this one....

"...Like hell I would ever do that."

After living a dull life, using my life as an excuse to never try to achieve something great, what did i get ? a fateful encounter with truck-kun ? I died a meaningless death. and now that I have gotten a new chance at life and that too, as a prince, am i supposed to let it all go to waste ?
