"Move, damn it!"
"If you don't want to burn to ashes—fight back!"
Fuguki Suikazan roared, hair whipping wildly, face twisted with ferocity.
Orders were instinct.
Etched into the bones of every Kirigakure shinobi.
The moment the Uchiha's flame dragons rose—
Dozens of jonin and hundreds of chunin surged forward instead of retreating, eyes blazing with the madness of desperate fighters.
They weren't the strongest.
But they were disciplined.
Coordinated.
The backbone of an army.
Facing the inferno and descending dragons, they didn't attempt large-scale, high-tier techniques.
They didn't have that luxury.
Instead—
They chose speed.
Numbers.
Coordination.
"Water Release: Water Trumpet!"
Groups of shinobi leaned forward—
And spat torrents of water.
From genin—streams.
From chunin—pressurized blasts like water cannons.
Thousands of streams erupted, slamming into the ground and incoming flames.
Water pooled—
Then spread.
Then surged.
Under continuous chakra flow, those pools transformed into advancing walls of water—
Low.
Wide.
Relentless.
Like the leading edge of a tidal surge.
They pushed forward—
Against the flames.
Against the dragons.
Individually weak.
Together—
A moving barrier.
Fire met water—
"SSSSSS—!!!"
Steam exploded upward.
The flames didn't die—
But they slowed.
Heat softened.
Time was gained.
And that—
Was enough.
—
Behind that advancing waterline—
The jonin finished their seals.
Chakra surged like a breaking dam.
"Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!"
They exhaled—
And the world answered.
A massive torrent burst forth—
Each stream merging midair—
Expanding—
Becoming a towering wall of water that reached toward the sky.
A roaring tide.
A crushing force.
It surged forward—
And collided with the descending dragons.
—
"SSSSSSHHHH—!!!"
"RUMBLE—!!!"
Not an explosion—
But annihilation.
Fire plunged into water.
Heat and pressure collided violently.
Steam detonated outward in expanding rings.
Flame dragons dimmed as they penetrated deeper—
Their forms torn apart.
Their bodies shredded.
Reduced to sparks and boiling spray.
But the water—
It too faltered.
Evaporating.
Breaking.
Struggling to hold.
The battlefield vanished into white.
A suffocating fog.
Heat.
Moisture.
Death.
Boiling droplets rained down, scalding skin.
Vision—gone.
Sound—distorted.
Only steam remained.
—
But the Uchiha didn't stop.
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
"Wind Release: Gale Palm!"
Winds surged.
Not dispersing the steam—
But twisting it.
Driving it.
Forcing the superheated vapor—
Back toward the Mist shinobi.
Then—
The next strike.
"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"
"Lightning Release: Lightning Ball!"
Blue light tore through the fog.
Spears of lightning.
Exploding orbs.
Guided by Byakugan vision—
They struck.
"ARGH—!"
"Left side!"
"Defend—!"
Too late.
Lightning pierced water and steam alike.
A chunin raised a water wall—
It shattered instantly as a lightning spear punched through him.
A group clustered together—
A lightning sphere dropped among them.
Explosion.
Screams swallowed by thunder.
Bodies convulsed.
Fell.
The moisture amplified everything.
Lightning spread.
Arcs crawled through the vapor—
Paralyzing those not directly hit.
Pain.
Heat.
Electric shock.
Chaos.
In mere moments—
Over a hundred Mist shinobi fell.
—
And then—
Something snapped.
"Don't let them keep distance!"
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"
"Water Release: Water Iron Cannon!"
"Find their sensor units!"
The Mist forces roared back.
Water dragons tore through steam.
Walls rose at every corner.
The battlefield shifted—
Into a brutal exchange.
Street by street.
Building by building.
A war of attrition.
—
Then—
"Out of the way!"
A deep voice thundered.
The water parted.
A massive figure burst forward—
Kisame Hoshigaki.
His chakra surged like a tidal wave.
"Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"
He opened his mouth—
And unleashed it.
"BOOOOM—!!!"
Water exploded outward.
Like a collapsing ocean.
Streets vanished.
Flames drowned.
Both sides were swallowed.
The battlefield transformed—
Into a vast lake.
Within seconds.
Water levels surged.
Buildings submerged.
Traps erased.
Positions lost.
The Uchiha were forced back—higher ground only.
The Mist—
Thrived.
Like fish returning home.
Attacks flowed more freely.
Water blades.
Hidden strikes beneath the surface.
At the same time—
Temperature dropped sharply.
Steam cooled.
Condensed.
Became—
Cold, suffocating fog.
The sky itself seemed to shift.
Heat replaced by chill.
Metal grew slick with condensation.
Cold seeped into bone.
—
Fuguki stepped forward, standing atop the waves.
Samehada pointed ahead.
"Now…"
"Your flames end here."
—
"Big words."
A cold voice cut through the noise.
A figure descended from a damaged rooftop—
Landing on the water's surface.
Fugaku Uchiha.
Red armor.
Sharingan spinning.
Eyes calm—
But burning.
Hand resting on his blade.
He walked across the waves—
Until he stood opposite Fuguki.
Water surged beneath them.
Fire burned behind.
Two forces met.
Fugaku stopped.
His thumb nudged the blade slightly free.
Steel gleamed.
"Your head…"
"I'll take it."
Fuguki snorted.
"Uchiha Fugaku? Never heard of you."
Instead of stepping forward—
He stepped back.
Then shoved a hand onto Kisame's shoulder.
"Go."
"Bring me his eyes."
"Understood."
Kisame stepped forward.
Hands formed seals instantly.
"Water Release: Water Shark Bullet!"
The water exploded upward—
Sharks formed—
Rushing toward Fugaku.
At the same moment—
Kisame vanished beneath the surface.
Gone.
Fugaku's Sharingan spun rapidly.
He didn't move.
He stomped.
"BOOM!"
Chakra surged.
The water sharks shattered midair.
In the same motion—
He drew kunai—
Explosive tags attached—
And hurled them toward Kisame's last position.
"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"
Explosions ripped through water and air alike.
—
And then—
"Three jonin—surround him!"
Fuguki's voice cut in coldly.
"Kill that Uchiha."
He sank slightly into the water—
Eyes locked on Fugaku.
"And the rest of you—advance."
"Leave none alive."
