Chapter 15 - [15]

[ Flashback: Two Months after the Hospital ]

Satoru stood in the deepest sub-basement of Kamar-Taj, a place where the walls were reinforced with runes older than the place itself. He wasn't practicing spells. He was staring at a single point on the wall and he has been at it for hours now without blinking, lost in his own thoughts.

For the past two months, Nihility's words had played on a loop in his mind: 'The strong struggle because they're too busy being an 'exception' to realize that they're part of the 'rule' too.'

He had spent his past life's existence being 'the strongest'. A special-grade sorcerer. The… Honored One… a title he boastingly proclaimed to himself when he achieved a state of enlightenment and mastered RCT during his fight against Toji Fushiguro back then.

In that fight, he felt a sense of euphoria or bliss and detachment from humanity and the other Jujutsu sorcerers, including his then equal… his one and only friend, Suguru Geto.

He believed that being the 'exception' meant he was above the laws of the world, not just the laws of man, but the laws of fate, loss, and even death.

He had convinced himself that the gap between him and the rest of the world was a throne, when in reality, it was a cage. He had looked down at everyone else from a height so dizzying that their struggles seemed small, their lives fragile, and their deaths inevitable.

Over time, after a series of events that led to Suguru's death. He began to think that his mastery of the Infinity technique was a metaphor for his life; where he was always surrounded by a space that meant no one could ever truly touch or reach him.

But standing here in the silence of Kamar-Taj, the weight of the 'rule', of it all, was finally crushing him.

It was simple: no amount of Infinity can stop the rot of time or the hollow ache of being the only one left standing, everything that exists must eventually end.

He had mastered the technique of his soul, yet he had failed to grasp the weight of that enlightenment… but now, he did.

'My current Unlimited Void is incomplete.' Satoru thought amidst the eerie silence of the sub-basement. 'It was just one side of a coin. I had to reach the state of 'Mu' and to do so…'

He thought for a moment before he finally broke out his gaze on the wall.

"I get it now," Satoru whispered, his voice small in the vast sub-basement.

"If I am everything, and I am nothing…" Satrou continued to whisper to no one but himself, his Six Eyes beginning to glow with a light that didn't belong to the physical spectrum. "...then, I am at the point of Singularity."

He unknowingly raised his hand into the Shunya Mudra.

"Stretch the fabric of Infinity to its absolute limit," he commanded himself. "Then, crush that entire reality back into a single speck, where everything becomes nothing and infinite potentiality."

The air in the room didn't just vibrate; it vanished. The laws of physics; gravity, friction and time, it all began to fray at the edges.

It wasn't just Infinity anymore; he was manifesting a paradox.

"Unlimited Void (Muryōkūsho)," Satoru murmured, his voice echoing from a place that no longer existed. "Nihility (Kyomu)."

"SATORU, STOP!"

[ Present Day - Sokovia ]

"Unlimited Void: Nihility! (Muryōkūsho: Kyomu)"

As the words left Satoru's lips, the atmosphere of the ascending city died.

A sphere of absolute paradox erupted from Satoru, expanding with a silent and terrifying void that absorbed all color. In a heartbeat, the church, the square, and the entirety of the whole flying city was swallowed.

Outside the barrier, the Avengers, citizens of Sokovia, and SHIELD agents, all of them watched wide-eyed in horror as a colossal, swirling 'eye' manifested in the sky.

Within the barrier, the visualization was a nightmare of physics. The 'sky' within the sphere was a chaotic, yet beautiful mess of infinite light representing the 'everything/infinity' of limitless swirling violently around a core of absolute crushing darkness representing 'nothingness/nihility'.

The laws of nature simply ceased to function. Ultron's red eyes flared white as his processors hit a wall they couldn't process.

Previously, Satoru's domain was known to dump infinite information in a target's mind. But, this was the Paradox of a Singularity itself manifesting into the open.

Those caught in it, solely Ultron who had a conscious mind, experience the simultaneous state of being and not being. Every line of code, every scrap of vibranium, and every spark of Ultron's consciousness was being 'pulled' by the infinite and 'pushed' by the nothingness. His body wasn't spared too as it was being stretched infinitely by the concept of All, while being compressed into a point of zero mass by the concept of None.

Time stood still. Within the domain, cause and effect were severed. Because Satoru had combined Infinity and Nihility, his domain had reached the state of Mu.

Ultron tried to scream, but sound cannot exist where air or any other medium wasn't present. He tried to transfer his consciousness to the drones and sentries around, but there was no 'outside' to reach. In this zone of non-existence, the very concept of a signal had been unmade.

Ultron was being erased from the very tapestry of history within the confines of the domain. Had any Avenger been present and hadn't evacuated, they would not only lose all recollection of Ultron, but that memory gap would persist and fester even after Satoru releases the technique, courtesy of the 'infinite potentiality'.

Satoru stood in the center of the swirling light and the dark void. He looked at the pixelating remains of the machine.

"Checkmate, toaster," he whispered.

He looked down at the billions of tons of stone and metal suspended in his paradox.

Satoru rolled his eyes and sighed, then he formed a series of mudra with his hands which he ended with a snap of his fingers.

The pitch-black sphere didn't shatter; it imploded. To the Avengers and others watching from the lifeboats, the giant 'eye' in the sky simply blinked after a second it appeared, the barrier disappeared and revealed…

…The city gone and only Satoru present hovering in the sky where the city had been.

Where a floating metropolis had once threatened to become an extinction-level event, there was now only empty space. A hollow stretch of sky that looked as if it had been scrubbed clean from existence.

In the center of that void, Satoru Gojo drifted.

He looked small against the backdrop of the clouds, a lone figure in a pristine white haori, hands shoved deep into his pockets. But the air around him felt brittle, as if the universe were still trying to figure out how to stitch the hole he'd just made back together.

On the S.H.I.E.L.D. lifeboats and the Helicarrier, the silence was absolute. Soldiers and civilians alike pressed their faces to the glass, staring at the spot where their homes and their enemy had vanished in a single heartbeat.

"Stark..." Steve's voice crackled over the comms, sounding breathless and hollow. "Tell me you're seeing this. Where is the city? Where is Ultron?"

Tony didn't answer immediately. He was hovering a few hundred yards away from Satoru, his suit's sensors screaming in a way he had never heard before. The HUD wasn't reporting energy readings anymore; it was just showing a flat zero.

"You're asking me…" Tony finally whispered, his voice trembling with a mix of awe and genuine terror. "...But, who the hell should I ask?"

Thor gripped Mjolnir tighter, his eyes fixed on Satoru. This wasn't a feat of mere strength; it transcended it. This was the kind of power he was seeking.

Satoru let out a long exhale.

Slowly, he reached up and slid the crimson bands of cyttorak back over his eyes, masking the glow of the Six Eyes. He was utterly drained, but he knew the worst drawback still hasn't come…

Still, it was the only solution he had for a foe like Ultron. If he didn't manifest Unlimited Void: Nihility, that toaster likely would transfer his consciousness into some unlucky home owner's basement and cook up something to annoy him in the future.

"Man," he muttered to himself. "I'm definitely charging Fury extra for this."

He looked down at his right hand. It was trembling, not just that, but his whole body was too.

He forced the exhaustion down for now, his lopsided smirk returning as he clasped his palms together.

Clap!

"Hey, Stark," Satoru chirped, appearing a short distance from Tony, Thor, and Rhodey. "I hope you guys saved some room on those boats. By the way, do you know a place on the way where I can fetch some high-quality mochi?"

"Mochi," Tony repeated incredulously. "After doing… whatever that was that made that city disappear within a second, you're asking me for dessert?"

"I burned a lot of calories, Stark. Don't be a hater," Satoru quipped. He tried to shove his hands back into his pockets, but he missed the opening on the first try. His fingers were twitching violently now, a shudder that was starting to travel up his arms.

Rhodey flew up beside Tony, his War Machine armor looking clunky against the backdrop of the literal void Gojo had just created. "Tony, did you record that? Because if we tell the UN that Sokovia just... went on vacation, they're going to put us in a padded cell."

Thor was the only one who moved closer. He didn't fly in with his usual boisterous landing; he drifted toward Satoru with a look of profound unease. He had never seen a mortal hold such power, yet here was one.

"Gojo," Thor said, his voice unusually soft. "The air around you... it is mourning."

Satoru let out a breathy laugh, though it sounded a bit wet. "It'll get over it. The technique I used was quite taxing. It just needs to…"

He tried to give Thor an assuring pat on the shoulder, but as he raised his hand, the world suddenly inverted in his eyes. The blue sky turned a sickly, neon green, and the clouds looked like jagged shards of glass. The drawback was hitting, faster than when he expected it.

"Uh-oh…"

By manifesting the concept of Mu, his brain was now struggling to remember how to process normal four-dimensional reality. Even with the help of RCT, it couldn't keep up with the drain.

The lopsided smirk finally faltered. "Actually... maybe skip the mochi. I think I—"

Satoru's eyes rolled back behind the crimson bands.

Like a doll with its strings cut, Satoru began to plummet silently through the empty air toward the valley floor miles below.

"Kid!" Tony yelled, his thrusters screaming as he dived after him.

"I have him!" Thor roared, spinning Mjolnir to gain speed.

Q&A Questions [ Ask here, will answer your questions whenever I'm ready. ]

Fun fact, I was actually debating between writing this or another story, called: Jujutsu Kyosen (A Jujutsu Kaisen Fic), which featured a Heian-era clan heir with a technique designed to rival the Limitless (Infinity), called Nothingness (Nihility). However, I got so hooked on the Marvel Gojo Universe concept that I decided to focus on this one first and eventually decided on incorporating that concept into here as well. For those wanting to write that idea, you have my permission to do so whatever you see fit.

Before you say something regarding the ending. Well, I humanized my version of Satoru Gojo considering this is a new verse with its own set of laws and structure, instead of a man who literally cannot be touched and can do anything. Besides, that kind of overpowered technique undeniably demands a significant toll when used, he's not a machine after all and it isn't solely powered with Cursed Energy.
