Chapter 313 - The Interruption

Day 375. 02:00 hours.

The central mansion.

Third floor.

Master attic sanctuary.

Snow fell against the reinforced skylights. Heat pulsed through the floors. The onsen burbled in the corner. The attic was warm and dark and theirs.

Jae-min sat on the edge of the four-meter Double King with Yue in his lap. She faced him, legs wrapped around his waist, marble eyes on his. Her left arm was still healing — the skin raw where the sound user's frequency had torn it open two days ago.

"Let me see." Jae-min murmured, his voice quiet. Not the captain. The husband.

Yue held up her left arm. The skin was split, the muscle beneath bruised. Two days of regeneration had closed the worst of it, but the wound was still open, still tender.

"It's healing." Yue answered, her voice calm. It was always calm. "Another day. Maybe two. The skin will close."

"You shouldn't have to wait." Jae-min countered, his dark eyes staying on her arm. His hand — warm, large, the hand that held the void and the rifle and the spatial awareness — settled on her bare forearm. "I can fix it."

"How?" Yue asked, though she already knew. She was one of the five. She knew about Time.

"Time Reversal." Jae-min explained, his fingers tracing the edge of the wound. "I reverse the arm back to before the sound user hit it. The wound closes. The tissue restores. The damage undone."

"That's a lot of power for a small thing." Yue measured, her voice dropping. "You held two fundamentals for thirty-five minutes. You're still spent from the battle."

"I'm spent from holding two fundamentals." Jae-min corrected, his hand steady on her arm. "Not from this. This is small. A localized reversal. A few seconds. The arm. Nothing more."

"Nothing more." Yue repeated, her marble eyes on his. She trusted him. She let him.

His hand tightened on her forearm. The void hummed — not the spatial void, not the tear. The other void. The deeper one. Time. The power that could rewind, reverse, undo.

The reversal was gentle. Not like the void tear. Not like the spatial awareness. A hum, a vibration, a frequency that matched existence itself and adjusted it. Turned it back. Rewound the clock on a single point — one arm, one wound.

Yue felt the warmth spread through her forearm. The tingle. The sensation of going backward. The raw skin closed. The torn tissue knitted. Layer by layer, the arm restored, as if the sound user had never hit her, as if the battle had never happened.

"Jae-min." Yue breathed, looking at her arm. Whole. Complete. The skin closed. The tissue restored.

"Better." Jae-min assessed, his voice quiet. He had fixed it in seconds.

"Better." Yue confirmed, her marble eyes wet — not from the arm. From him. From the man who used his power not for war, not for the void, not for the battle, but for her arm. For a small thing he could have let heal on its own. But didn't. Because it was her arm. Because she was his wife.

"He fixed it. He used Time — for me. Not for the war. Not for the void. For my arm. For a small thing. Because it was mine. Because I am his." Yue realized, the thought warm and fierce and cracking.

"Thank you." Yue whispered, the words rare from her. She was steady. She was calm. She had been softer since Little Jae-min. She was his.

"Always." Jae-min answered, his hand staying on her arm. On the skin that was whole again.

She was quiet for a moment. The onsen burbled. The snow fell. The attic held them.

"The household knows." Yue stated, not a question. A fact. "About the machine. About Taiwan. About the three months."

"They know." Jae-min confirmed. "Mei briefed them. Yesterday. After the debrief."

"Little Jae-min was sleeping through it." Yue's mouth twitched. Almost a smile. "The one person in this house who can sleep through the end of the world."

"He's eight days old." Jae-min countered, a ghost of a smile on his own face. "He doesn't know there is a world. He knows the breast. The warmth. The arms. That's his world."

"And we're keeping that world intact." Yue declared, her voice calm again. The calm that was not cold. The calm that was certainty. "Whatever it takes. However long the machine has. We keep his world."

"We keep his world." Jae-min agreed.

Yue looked at the skylight. The snow. The dark. The alpha storm that had not stopped since Day One. Three hundred and seventy-five days of snow, of dark, of cold.

And inside the compound — warmth.

Light.

Food.

Family.

The world they had built from the ashes of the old one.

"I was scared." Yue admitted, the admission rare from her. Rarer than the thank you. "On the wall. When the sound user hit me. When the arm went. I was scared."

"You didn't show it." Jae-min noted.

"I never show it." Yue's marble eyes came back to his. "But you know. You always know."

"I know." Jae-min confirmed. He had always known. From the first day. From the classroom. From the moment she had looked at him with those marble eyes and decided — him. "Were you scared of the wound? Or of something else?"

"Of not being able to hold him." Yue's voice went quieter. "Little Jae-min. With one arm. I couldn't hold him properly for two days. Alessia helped. Jennifer helped. But I wanted to hold him. With both arms. Myself."

"You can hold him tomorrow." Jae-min promised, his voice gentle. "Both arms. Yourself."

"Both arms." Yue confirmed, her marble eyes wet again. "Thank you. For the arm. For the Time. For —"

She didn't finish. She didn't need to. He knew.

"Yue." Jae-min murmured, his voice quiet. "When the machine dies — when the Federation's Enhanced lose their powers — we'll still have ours. The compound's powers are environmental. Permanent. Alpha Centauri. Not the machine. We don't fade."

"I know." Yue answered.

"And the household knows now." Jae-min continued. "Mei told them. About the three months. About the Federation's weakness. About what happens when the gamma runs out."

"They took it well." Yue noted.

"They took it like adults." Jae-min corrected, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Which means half of them are terrified and the other half are pretending they're not. And Hua is cooking. Which is how Hua processes everything."

"Rice." Yue stated.

"Rice." Jae-min confirmed. "For the end of the world. Which is not the end. Because we're still here. And we're not fading."

Yue leaned forward. Her marble eyes on his. Her lips close. She kissed rarely. She showed affection through proximity — the hand on the hip, the arm around the neck, the silent steady presence.

But tonight she kissed him. Her lips on his. Soft. Warm. Not the cheek-peck. Not the goodnight. Real.

He kissed her back. One hand on her arm, the other on her waist. The kiss deepened.

Her fingers found the hem of his shirt. She pulled it up. He raised his arms. The shirt came off. His chest bare — the chest she knew, the chest she had slept against for months, the chest that had held her when the sound user's frequency had torn her arm open and the blood had been on the snow.

"Jae-min." Yue whispered against his lips. She rarely said his name. She was saying it now.

"Yue." Jae-min answered, his voice rough.

She pushed him back onto the bed. The four-meter Double King. The skylights above, the snow falling, the geothermal heat, the onsen burbling. The room that was theirs.

She straddled him. Legs on either side of his hips. Marble eyes looking down at him. Her left arm whole now, restored. Her right arm whole, always had been.

She pulled her own shirt off.

No bra beneath.

Her breasts bare — full, heavy, the dark nipples tight from the cold air and the want.

The body beneath was slender, strong — the body of a woman who fought with a jian and Blinked through space and had held the line with one arm. Beautiful. His.

"You're staring." Yue noted, her voice quiet.

"I'm always staring." Jae-min answered, his hands settling on her hips. He stared at all his wives. They were his. He looked at what was his.

"Then stop staring and touch me." Yue commanded, her voice dropping.

He reached up. Both hands. Cupped her breasts. Thumbs brushing across the nipples.

She inhaled — sharp, sudden. The marble eyes half-closed. He rolled the nipples between his thumbs and forefingers, gentle, then firm, then gentle again.

She made a sound — low, in her throat. Not a scream. Not yet. A sound that said: more.

She leaned down. Kissed him. Her breasts against his chest. Her hips rolling — grinding down against the hardness she felt through his pants. The friction sent heat through her.

She was wet.

She had been wet since he put his hand on her arm and reversed the wound. Since the warmth of the Time reversal had spread through her forearm and into the rest of her.

She sat up again. Her fingers found the waistband of his pants. She pulled them down.

He lifted his hips.

The pants came off.

And then there was nothing between them — just his hardness against her thigh, hot, thick, and her wetness slicking the skin where they touched.

"Yue." Jae-min groaned, his voice rough. His hands on her hips. Holding.

She lifted her hips. Reached down. Took him in her hand — the weight of him, the heat of him, the way he twitched when she wrapped her fingers around the shaft.

She guided him to her entrance. The head pressed against her — the wetness, the heat, the slickness of her. She was ready. She had been ready.

She sank down.

Slowly. Inch by inch. Taking him in. The stretch — the fullness — the way he filled her, opened her, pressed against the walls of her and sent electricity up her spine.

Her marble eyes went wide.

Her mouth opened.

She did not scream yet.

She was savoring.

The first thrust of the night. The first time he was inside her in weeks — since before the battle, since before the sound user, since before the wound.

"Jae-min —" Yue breathed, all the way down now. He was buried in her. Fully. Completely. Her weight on his hips. His hands on her waist. The connection — physical, warm, real.

"Yue." Jae-min answered, his thumbs tracing circles on her hipbones. He did not move. He let her set the pace. He always let her set the pace.

She rolled her hips. A slow circle. The friction — the heat — the way he moved inside her when she moved.

She gasped. Did it again. And again. Finding the rhythm. The angle. The spot — the spot that made her see white.

She rode him. Hips in deliberate circles, marble eyes on his, hands flat on his chest. She was in control. She set the pace. She decided.

She had been steady for so long — calm, contained, unbreakable — and now, in the dark of the master attic, on the four-meter bed, with the snow falling against the skylights, she broke.

Beautifully.

Completely.

"Jae-min —" Yue gasped, hips rolling faster. Dark hair falling over her shoulders. Arms braced against his chest.

The wet sounds of their bodies — the slap of skin on skin, the slick heat of him entering her and withdrawing and entering again.

She was feeling everything — every inch, every thrust, every nerve that had been cold for months waking up, burning.

"Yue —" Jae-min answered, his hands on her hips, guiding, holding. Thumbs pressing into the soft skin above her hipbones. He was beneath her. He let her lead. He followed.

His dark eyes stayed on hers.

Never looking away.

He thrust up to meet her — timed, deliberate, deep. Each thrust pushed a sound out of her. A gasp. A moan. A whimper. Building.

She came fast. The orgasm crashed through her — her back arched, her thighs clenched, her walls tightened around him, and the scream tore from her throat.

It filled the master attic, escaped through the stairwell, the corridors, and the floors.

The acoustic foam panels of Room 1 would have swallowed it, but the master attic — with its open atrium, its high ceilings, its reinforced skylights — amplified it.

The scream carried through the third floor, through the stairwell, through the second floor, through the household that was sleeping.

The household that was no longer sleeping.

In Room 1, Ji-yoo heard it. Six weeks pregnant, lying beside Min-joo. Her dark eyes opened. She knew that sound.

"Yue." Ji-yoo whispered, her voice Del Rosario dry. "The screamer."

"Should I —" Min-joo started, groggy.

"No." Ji-yoo cut in, pulling him back down. "Go back to sleep."

"Is she —" Min-joo pressed.

"She is. Go back to sleep." Ji-yoo confirmed.

"Is the captain —" Min-joo tried again.

"The captain is. With Yue. On the Double King. Go back to sleep, Min-joo." Ji-yoo ordered.

"Right." Min-joo muttered, putting his face in the pillow. "Sleep."

Gabriel was in the master attic too — in her section of the Double King, three feet away. Her golden eyes were open in the dark.

She watched the silhouette, the movement.

She was not joining.

Not yet.

She was waiting.

"Just wait." Gabriel whispered to herself. "Be patient. My turn will come."

Alessia was on the other side of the Double King, also three feet away. Her glow pulsed warm amber — responding to the arousal, the intimacy, the proximity. Nearly six months pregnant with Jin.

She smiled in the dark. She knew that sound. She was happy. Her husband and her sister-wife were together.

The screamer was screaming.

Yue came again.

And again.

Each time louder.

Each time more unrestrained.

She did not hold back. Every nerve, every sensation, every wave crashed through her and left her gasping, shaking, her marble eyes wide and wet and fierce.

He came inside her, the release that was his, deep inside her, the warmth that filled her, the pulse of it, the way her walls clenched around him as she rode out the last waves of her own climax.

She collapsed onto his chest.

Sweating.

Breathing.

His hardness still inside her, softening, the warmth of his release seeping out around him, down her thighs.

They lay together. The four-meter Double King. The skylights. The snow. The onsen. The room that was theirs.

"Again." Yue declared, her marble eyes fierce. She was not done. She could feel him — still inside her, still half-hard, the Del Rosario biology that did not quit. She rolled her hips. Felt him twitch. Felt him start to harden again.

"Again." Jae-min confirmed. He was never done.

She rode him the second time.

Slower.

Deeper.

Savoring.

Rolling her hips in long, grinding circles that pressed him against the mouth of her womb with each downstroke.

She was slick — slick with her own arousal, slick with his release from the first time, the wet sounds obscene and loud in the quiet attic.

She came screaming.

Her walls spasmed around him.

He grabbed her hips, held her down, and thrust up — once, twice, three times — and came inside her again.

The second load.

The warmth on top of the warmth. The household was definitely not sleeping. The household was enduring.

The third time, he was on top. He took control. She let him. He flipped her onto her back, her dark hair spread on the pillow, her marble eyes looking up at him.

He hooked her legs over his shoulders — the position that let him go deepest, the position that hit the spot that made her lose her mind.

He thrust in.

Slow.

All the way.

She arched off the bed.

He withdrew. Almost all the way out.

Then back in — hard, deep, the full length of him burying inside her.

She screamed his name — not "Jae-min," the full name. The name only the wives used. In the dark. In the bed. In the moment.

He set a rhythm — deep, deliberate, punishing. Each thrust drove the breath out of her. Each thrust pushed a scream out of her.

She came twice before he finished — the second orgasm so hard her thighs shook against his shoulders.

He came inside her.

The third load.

She felt it — the pulse, the heat, the way her walls milked him.

The fourth time, she was on top again.

She took back control. She rode him reverse — facing away, her hands on his thighs, her hips rolling. The angle was different. The friction was different.

She could take him deeper this way. She rode him until her thighs burned. Until the sweat dripped down her spine.

Until she came — twice, back to back, the orgasms rolling into each other so she couldn't tell where one ended and the next began.

He grabbed her hips from behind, held her still, and thrust up into her — fast, urgent — and came inside her a fourth time. The household was suffering.

The fifth time, they were side by side. Facing each other.

His leg between hers. Her hand on his face. His hand on her hip. He entered her slowly — gently — and they rocked together.

No urgency.

No frenzy.

Just the slow, intimate, tender movement of two people who knew each other's bodies. She looked into his eyes. He looked back. Connected.

Not just bodies.

Souls.

She came quietly this time — a whimper, a shudder, her walls rippling around him. He followed — a groan, a pulse, the fifth release of the night, deep inside her.

The sixth time, she was on top again.

Riding him hard — fast, brutal, her hips slamming down on him, her breasts bouncing, her hands flat on his chest, her marble eyes wild.

She came so hard she screamed — loud enough that Chocho, three floors below in the command deck, woke up and yipped. The fox's tail tightened around Mei's waist.

The divine fundamental's violet-blue eyes opened in the dark.

"The captain and Yue. Six times. The audio signature carried through three floors. The acoustic properties of the master atrium amplify rather than absorb. The reverberation coefficient of the reinforced skylights — " Mei registered, then stopped. Filed. Continued listening.

Jae-min grabbed Yue's hips, held her down, and came inside her a sixth time — the warmth, the pulse, the release.

Yue screamed his name one last time.

Collapsed onto his chest. His arms around her. Her face in his neck. Both of them were breathing hard. Both of them soaked in sweat and each other.

The seventh time was being prepared when —.

— • • • —

Day 375. 04:00 hours.

The master attic.

The spatial awareness flared. The passive sweep that was always running — even during sex, even during sleep, even during everything. The awareness swept three kilometers in every direction. It pinged.

A signature. South. Five hundred meters. Approaching fast. One signature. Fundamental-tier. Moving toward the compound. Toward the wall. Toward them.

Jae-min's dark eyes snapped open. The husband was gone. The captain was back. He felt the signature. He recognized it.

Rose.

"Rose. Five hundred meters. South. Approaching. Now. At four in the morning. During the — " Jae-min realized, the thought cold and furious.

"Rose." Jae-min stated, his voice flat. He was in bed. Naked. Inside his wife. Interrupted.

"What —" Yue started, her marble eyes opening. Also interrupted.

"She's here." Jae-min declared, pulling out. Furious. "Rose. Five hundred meters. South. Approaching."

"Now?" Yue demanded, her voice incredulous. "Now? She comes now? During —"

"During." Jae-min confirmed, already moving. Naked. Stark naked. Not stopping to dress. Moving toward the stairwell. Toward the Atrium. Toward the south gate.

"Jae-min — clothes —" Yue called after him.

No response. He was gone. Down the stairs. Through the Atrium. Past the Steinway. Toward the south gate.

Naked.

Stark naked.

His spatial awareness locked on Rose. His fury was building. He had been interrupted. During the seventh time. With Yue. He was furious.

He reached the south gate. Naked. His void hummed. His Time hummed. He stood at the south gate, naked, at four in the morning, facing the south field, facing the approaching signature, facing Rose.

The spatial awareness tracked her. Five hundred meters. Four hundred. Three hundred. Two hundred. One hundred. Fifty meters from the wall.

Rose McDowell.

The Preta captain.

The hunter.

The leader of the all-female assassin group.

The woman who had sent one hundred and eight against the wall. Coming alone. At four in the morning. During the seventh time.

"She interrupted. She interrupted the seventh time. She is going to regret the interruption." Jae-min vowed, the thought cold and absolute and furious.

Rose appeared at the south gate. Dark red hair. Green eyes. Lean build. She had come alone. She had come now. At four in the morning. During —

Jae-min stopped time.

Not reversal. Stop. The power he had never used before. The power that froze everything. The snow stopped. The air stopped. The world stopped. And in the stopped world, Jae-min moved.

He crossed the fifty meters between the gate and Rose in two seconds. Stood in front of the frozen Preta captain. Punched her.

In the face.

Rose's head snapped. The frozen face couldn't react. The frozen body couldn't defend.

He punched her again.

And again.

And again.

Furious.

He had been interrupted. During the seventh time. With Yue. He was punching Rose McDowell in the face. While naked. In stopped time.

He released the Time stop.

Time resumed.

The snow fell.

The air moved. The world turned.

And Rose McDowell staggered. Her face was bleeding. From multiple punches she had not seen coming. Had not felt coming. They had happened between heartbeats. In the space where time stopped.

"What —" Rose stammered, her green eyes wide. Her face was bloody. She had been punched. Multiple times. By a man who was naked. Stark naked. Standing in the snow. At the south gate. At four in the morning.

"You interrupted." Jae-min declared, his voice flat. Furious. Naked. His fury was visible. In more ways than one.

"I — what —" Rose stammered, her green eyes not on Jae-min's face. They were lower. Her face was bloody. Her eyes were widening.

"MY EYES." Rose shrieked, her hands going to her face. Not from the punches. From the sight. The sight she had not expected. The sight that was there. In the snow. At the south gate. At four in the morning. "WHAT THE — WHY ARE YOU — PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!"

"You interrupted." Jae-min repeated, his voice flat. Not putting clothes on. Standing his ground. Naked. In minus seventy. At the south gate. Facing the Preta captain whose face was bloody and whose eyes were scarred.

The household arrived.

Rico came first. The Olympus Defense commander had been in the hospital with Marie. He had heard the spatial awareness alarm through the comms. He arrived at the south gate with the M4 — and stopped. His dark eyes went wide. His jaw dropped. He looked away. Then looked back. Then looked away again.

"Jae-min." Rico strangled, his voice barely controlled. He was looking at his nephew. Who was naked. In minus seventy. At the south gate. With a bloody-faced Preta captain. "You're naked."

"I'm aware." Jae-min answered, his voice flat.

"You're naked." Rico repeated, as if saying it again would change it.

"I'm aware." Jae-min repeated.

"In minus seventy." Rico pressed.

"I'm aware." Jae-min confirmed.

"With a woman." Rico added.

"She's the enemy. I punched her. In the face. Multiple times. While naked. In stopped time. Because she interrupted." Jae-min laid out, his voice flat and certain and absolutely unhurried.

"Interrupted — what?" Rico asked. The uncle who shouldn't have asked.

"The seventh time." Jae-min answered honestly. Because the captain was honest. Even naked. Even in minus seventy. Even with a bloody-faced Preta captain.

"The seventh —" Rico started. His face went blank. His military discipline failed. He turned around. "I'm going back to the hospital. I'm going back to Marie. I'm going to hold my son. And pretend none of this happened. None of it. The naked. The punching. The seventh time. None of it."

"Uncle is traumatized." Ji-yoo noted, watching Rico walk away. She would remember this. Everything. Forever.

Rico's walkie-talkie crackled as he crossed the courtyard. Marie's voice came through — groggy, postpartum.

"Rico." Marie addressed through the walkie-talkie. "The comms lit up. What happened. Is the baby okay."

"The baby is fine." Rico answered into the walkie-talkie, his voice careful. Controlled. The voice of a man choosing his words very, very carefully. "There was an intruder. At the south gate. The captain handled it."

"Handled it how?" Marie pressed.

"Directly." Rico answered.

"Is the captain hurt?" Marie asked.

"No." Rico confirmed.

"Is the intruder hurt?" Marie continued.

"Yes." Rico confirmed.

"Rico." Marie's voice sharpened. "Why do you sound like that?"

"Like what?" Rico countered.

"Like you just saw something you can't unsee." Marie measured.

Rico was silent for a long moment. The walkie-talkie crackled. Snow fell. The courtyard was lit by floodlights. Rico kept walking toward the hospital.

"I'm coming back to you." Rico declared, his voice careful. "I'm going to hold our son. And we are never discussing what just happened. Ever. For the rest of our lives. However long that is. Three months or thirty years. We are not discussing it."

"Rico —" Marie started.

"Not discussing it." Rico repeated, and clicked off the walkie-talkie.

Ji-yoo arrived next. She had been in Room 1. Six weeks pregnant. Wearing Min-joo's oversized shirt and bare feet. Her dark eyes found her brother — naked. In the snow. At the south gate. With a bloody-faced Rose McDowell.

"Oppa." Ji-yoo measured, her voice Del Rosario dry. She assessed. She processed. She did not flinch. "You're naked."

"I'm aware." Jae-min confirmed.

"In minus seventy." Ji-yoo pressed.

"I'm aware." Jae-min repeated.

"With Rose." Ji-yoo noted.

"I punched her. Multiple times. In stopped time. Because she interrupted." Jae-min declared.

"Interrupted —" Ji-yoo started.

"The seventh time." Jae-min answered.

Ji-yoo's dark eyes went to Rose. The Preta captain's face was bloody. Green eyes still wide. Hands covering her face — not from the punches. From the sight.

"Seventh." Ji-yoo repeated, her voice Del Rosario dry. "Yue. Seven times. And Rose interrupted the seventh."

"Rose interrupted the seventh." Jae-min confirmed.

"I'm going to stand over here." Ji-yoo declared, moving to the left. She positioned herself with a clear line of sight — to Rose, to Jae-min, to everything. "Continue."

"I'm not continuing." Jae-min countered. "I'm fighting."

"You're fighting naked." Ji-yoo pointed out.

"I'm aware." Jae-min confirmed.

Min-joo arrived behind Ji-yoo. His black eyes found Jae-min — naked. He stopped. He looked at Ji-yoo. He looked at Jae-min. He looked at Rose. He turned to Ji-yoo.

"Is he —" Min-joo started.

"Naked." Ji-yoo confirmed. "Yes."

"Fighting." Min-joo measured.

"Yes." Ji-yoo confirmed.

"Rose." Min-joo noted.

"Yes." Ji-yoo confirmed.

"Naked." Min-joo repeated.

"Yes, Min-joo. He's naked. He's fighting Rose. While naked. Because she interrupted the seventh time." Ji-yoo laid out, her voice Del Rosario dry.

"The seventh —" Min-joo started.

"Don't ask." Ji-yoo cut in.

Gabriel arrived. She had flown down from the master attic. Her golden eyes found Jae-min — naked. In the snow. In the floodlights. In his full glory. Her golden eyes widened. Then softened. Then heated.

"Oh." Gabriel breathed, her voice breathy. She was looking. She was not looking away. Her bounce returned. Her golden eyes were locked. "Oh my."

"Abby." Ji-yoo fired, her voice Del Rosario dry. "Stop staring."

"I'm not staring." Gabriel countered, staring. "I'm assessing. Tactically. The captain's condition."

"His condition is naked." Ji-yoo pointed out. "His condition has been naked since he ran out of the master attic without putting on clothes because Rose interrupted the seventh time."

"The seventh." Gabriel murmured, her golden eyes still locked. "Yue. Seven times. And I was right there. In the Double King. I was waiting."

"You were waiting." Ji-yoo confirmed. "And now you're staring."

"I'm assessing." Gabriel corrected, bouncing. "Tactically."

Aiko arrived. Her black eyes behind her eyeglasses found Jae-min — naked. The woman had a crush. Her domain was the workshop. Her Metal Manipulation was the steel that obeyed. Her black eyes went wide behind her eyeglasses.

Then red.

Her face flushed. Her hands covered her eyes. Then parted. Then covered again. Then parted.

"Aiko." Ji-yoo addressed, her voice Del Rosario dry. "You're peeking."

"I'm not —" Aiko stammered, her face crimson. "I'm assessing. The structural integrity. Of the —"

"Aiko." Ji-yoo cut in.

"He's very —" Aiko started, her hands parting again. "Structurally sound."

"Oh my god." Min-joo groaned, putting his face in his hands.

Mei arrived. The divine fundamental in her wheelchair. Chocho in her lap. Her violet-blue eyes were on the tablet — then up. Then on Jae-min. Naked. In the snow. In the floodlights. In his full —

Mei's violet-blue eyes changed. Her expression was always flat. Clinical. Data-focused. But now her face shifted. Her violet-blue eyes heated. Chocho's tail tightened. Her fingers stopped on the tablet. She looked.

"The captain. Naked. In the snow. In the floodlights. The spatial awareness is passive. The void is passive. The Time is passive. Everything is passive except — the captain. Who is — impressive. Structurally. The data is — significant. The data requires — filing. Permanent filing. In the NPU Core. The image. The full image. The — " Mei registered, the thoughts heated and possessive and absolute.

"Mei." Ji-yoo addressed, her voice careful. She recognized that look. The divine fundamental was not clinical. Not flat. Not data-focused. The divine fundamental was yandere.

"Captain." Mei murmured, her voice not clinical. Not flat. Different. Heated. Possessing. "You are naked."

"I'm aware." Jae-min confirmed, his voice flat. He was still fighting Rose. He was not paying attention to the household's reactions. His spatial awareness was locked on Rose.

"In minus seventy." Mei continued, her violet-blue eyes not blinking. She was memorizing. Filing. Saving. Chocho's tail was very tight.

"Mei." Ji-yoo warned, her voice sharp. She saw the yandere. She recognized it. She had seen that look before. In the first timeline. In other contexts.

"He is impressive." Mei declared, her voice quiet. She was not talking about the void. Not about the Time. Not about the spatial awareness.

"MEI." Ji-yoo barked.

"Structurally." Mei added, her violet-blue eyes still not blinking. "Structurally impressive."

Anna arrived. The Right Hand who had been Rose's vice captain. Her dark eyes found the scene — Jae-min naked, Rose bloody-faced, the household staring. Her knife was in her boot. Her forehead cut was bandaged. She assessed.

"Rose." Anna addressed, her voice quiet. She saw her former captain. Bloody. Staggering. At the south gate. Facing a naked void captain.

"Anna." Rose gasped, her voice strained. Her face was bloody. Her green eyes were traumatized. Not from the punches. From the sight. "Your captain is naked."

"I'm aware." Anna answered, her voice flat. Professional. Even now.

"He punched me. In stopped time. While naked." Rose pressed.

"I'm aware." Anna repeated.

"And he's —" Rose started, her green eyes flicking down. Then up. Then scarred. "He's very —"

"Don't." Anna cut in. "Don't finish that sentence."

"I was going to say armed." Rose declared.

"With what?" Anna asked.

"With —" Rose started. Her green eyes flicked down again. Then up. "With himself."

"Oh my god." Min-joo groaned, his face still in his hands.

"MEI." Ji-yoo barked, her voice sharp. She was managing. The yandere. The staring. The situation. "Eyes. Up. Now."

Mei's violet-blue eyes did not move.

"Mei." Ji-yoo pressed.

"I'm processing." Mei answered, her voice quiet. She was filing. Saving. Permanently. In the NPU Core. The image. The full image. She was yandere.

Yue arrived. She had been in the master attic. Interrupted. Her marble eyes found Jae-min. Naked. In the snow. Fighting Rose. Her arm was restored. She was whole. She was also furious.

"Jae-min." Yue addressed, her voice not calm. Not steady. She was furious. "You ran out. Without clothes. In minus seventy. To fight Rose. While naked."

"She interrupted." Jae-min answered, his voice flat. Still furious. Still naked. Still fighting.

"She interrupted." Yue confirmed. "And you ran out. Naked. Without me. Without finishing."

"I was going to finish." Jae-min declared. "After I dealt with Rose."

"After you dealt with —" Yue started. Her marble eyes went to Rose. Her gaze hardened. She was also furious. At Rose. For interrupting. "You. Interrupted."

Rose blinked. Her face was bloody. Her green eyes were wide. At the wife. At the furious wife. At the wife who was looking at her with murder.

"I — didn't mean to —" Rose stammered.

"You don't mean to." Yue cut her off, her voice not calm. "You don't mean to. You sent one hundred and eight against our wall. Seven fundamentals. You tried to kill my husband. You tried to kill my family. You failed. And now you come. Alone. At four in the morning. During the seventh time. And you don't mean to."

"I came to —" Rose started.

"I don't care why you came." Yue interrupted, her voice sharp. "You interrupted. The seventh time. Do you understand what that means?"

Rose did not understand.

She was a Preta captain.

A hunter.

The leader of the all-female assassin group that operated across Southeast Asia for the Taiwan Samsara Federation.

She had spent years in the cage. In the dark. In the machine's shadow. She did not know what the seventh time meant.

She did not know that the void captain — the man she had come to fight, the man who was standing naked in the snow with a bloody fist and a fury that could crack the sky — had been inside his wife.

Six times.

And she had interrupted the seventh.

Rose's jaw tightened.

The blood on her face was drying.

The green eyes — still wide, still traumatized from the naked — sharpened.

The hunter came back.

The Preta captain.

The leader of the all-female assassins.

The woman who had spent twenty years in the cage, who had survived the machine's shadow, who did not cower.

Not even naked in the snow at four in the morning with a bloody face and a furious wife and a household of witnesses.

"You can't —" Rose started, her voice rising. She turned to Jae-min. Straightened. The green eyes locked on his dark eyes. The voice that had commanded one hundred and eight. The voice that had led the all-female Preta for twenty years. "You can't just — I am a captain of the Samsara Federation. I am Preta. The hunter. The assassin. I came here to — you don't get to —"

Jae-min bitch slapped her.

Open palm.

Backhand across the face.

The crack echoed off the south gate.

Rose's head snapped to the left — hard, sharp, the whole body rotating with the force of it.

The green eyes went blank.

The sentence died.

The words she had been saying — whatever they were going to be — were gone. Cut off mid-syllable. The Preta captain, who had been about to talk back to the void captain — was silenced.

The household went still.

Ji-yoo's dark eyes widened. The twin who had been processing — stopped processing. Her mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. "Oppa just —"

"Bitch slapped." Min-joo confirmed from the stairs. His face was still in his hands. But his fingers parted. He had to see. "The captain just bitch slapped Rose McDowell. In the face. In front of everyone. While naked."

"In minus seventy." Ji-yoo added, her voice Del Rosario dry. But the dry was strained. Because the bitch slap had been loud. "While naked. In minus seventy. The captain bitch slapped a Preta captain. Open palm. Backhand. The sound —"

"The sound was crisp." Gabriel declared, her golden eyes wide. The bounce had stopped. The wife who had been assessing the captain's condition had stopped assessing. "The sound was very crisp. The bitch slap was technically proficient."

"Technically proficient." Ji-yoo repeated, her voice strained. "Gabriel is evaluating the bitch slap. For technical proficiency. While the captain is naked. In minus seventy. After bitch slapping a Preta captain."

"I have standards." Gabriel countered, her chin lifted. "Even now. The bitch slap met them."

Rose's head came back.

Slowly.

The green eyes refocused. The left cheek — red. Redder than the blood. Redder than the cold.

The handprint — visible. On the face that had been bloody. The face that was now bloody and slapped.

The Preta captain who had been cut off mid-sentence. Who had not finished her thought. Who would not finish her thought. Because the bitch slap had ended it.

Rose opened her mouth. To speak. To respond. To — something.

"Mei." Jae-min commanded, his voice the captain's voice. Flat. Certain. "Now."

Mei's violet-blue eyes finally moved. From Jae-min. To Rose. Her expression shifted. From yandere to clinical. She was the brain. She was the strike.

Rose saw the wheelchair. The divine fundamental. The violet-blue eyes. The fox. The divine fundamental was looking at her. Not at Jae-min. At her.

"Who —" Rose started.

Mei's eyes locked on Rose's. Violet-blue on green. The mind scan came first — passive. Reading. Mapping.

She found Rose's mind. The hunter. The captain. The woman who had sent one hundred and eight.

The woman who was here.

Alone.

At four in the morning. Because the seven failed. Because the Chen Family failed. Because Rose came herself.

Three seconds.

The Mind Control activated.

Not the scan. The active. The alteration. The rewrite. The power that changed. The power that redirected.

The power that took Rose's loyalty, Rose's beliefs, Rose's priorities, and redirected them. From the Chen Family. To the compound. From the cage. To the household.

From the patriarch.

To Jae-min.

Rose blinked.

The snow was cold. The compound stood behind the naked captain. The Preta captain's blood was on his fist.

The Chen Family — the cage, the patriarch, the mission — she remembered them. Of course she did.

But they felt distant. Like a previous assignment. Concluded.

The center was here. The compound. The household. The captain. The naked captain. Standing in the snow. With a bloody fist.

Rose's posture changed. Not broken. Not shattered. Adjusted.

Smoothly.

Completely.

The way a compass needle swings north.

The Chen Family was still there. But it was no longer north. The compound was north. Jae-min was north.

And Rose — the hunter, the captain, the woman who had spent years in the cage — faced north.

Three seconds of sustained eye contact. In the snow. At the south gate. At four in the morning. While Jae-min stood naked. In minus seventy. With a bloody-faced Preta captain. And a yandere divine fundamental in a wheelchair.

Three seconds.

Rose's green eyes changed. The shift was visible. The pupils dilated. The expression softened. The face went still. Then calm. Then different. The Rose who had been furious, traumatized, bloody — the Rose who was now calm. Still. Different.

"Captain." Rose addressed, her voice different. Not the Preta captain's voice. Not the fury. Not the hunter. Directed. "I am here."

"You're here." Jae-min confirmed, his voice flat. Still naked. Still furious. Still interrupted. "And you interrupted."

"I apologize for the interruption." Rose stated, her voice calm. Controlled. Three seconds. In the snow. While naked.

"Mei." Jae-min addressed.

"Complete." Mei confirmed, her violet-blue eyes back on Jae-min. Clinical again. The yandere was stored. Filed. In the NPU Core. Permanently. "Rose is ours."

"Ours." The household echoed. They were standing at the south gate. At four in the morning. Watching their naked captain. The bloody-faced Preta captain. The yandere divine fundamental. And the wife who was furious about the seventh time.

"Anna." Ji-yoo directed, her voice Del Rosario dry. She was managing. "Take Rose to the hospital. Alessia will check her face — the punches. Then debrief."

"Copy." Anna acknowledged, her voice professional. She took Rose's arm. She led the former Preta captain toward the hospital.

Rose walked. Her green eyes were calm. Directed. Her face was bloody — split lip, bruised cheek, cut above her left eye. She had been punched multiple times in stopped time by a naked man.

"Anna." Rose addressed as they walked through the heated corridor. Her voice was different. Calm. "He punched me. While naked. In stopped time."

"He did." Anna confirmed.

"Multiple times." Rose added.

"Multiple." Anna confirmed.

"While naked." Rose repeated.

"You mentioned." Anna noted.

"I was not expecting —" Rose started, then stopped. She was processing. The naked. "I came to the compound. Alone. At four in the morning. To retrieve you. To fight the void captain. And the void captain was naked. In minus seventy. With everything on display. And then he stopped time. And punched me. In the face. Multiple times. While everything was still on display."

"Yes." Anna answered. "That happened."

"And then the divine fundamental. In the wheelchair. With the fox. She looked at me. And I realized." Rose continued, her voice clinical. Certain. "The Chen Family sent me here because they were wrong. The compound is where I should be. The captain is who I should serve."

"Yes." Anna confirmed. "That also happened."

"I was not expecting any of this." Rose declared.

"None of us were." Anna noted. "Especially the naked part."

"Especially the naked part." Rose confirmed.

They reached the hospital. Alessia was there. The doctor had been asleep. Her glow was warm. Nearly six months pregnant with Jin. She looked at Rose's face.

"Sit down. I need to treat your face." Alessia instructed, her voice clinical. She did not ask about the naked. About the punches. About the Mind Control. She treated.

"The captain punched her." Anna reported. "Multiple times. In stopped time. While —"

"I don't need the context." Alessia cut in, her glow shifting to clinical white. "I need the patient to sit down."

Rose sat. Her face was being treated. Her mind was settled. Her loyalty was the compound's.

The spy was planted.

Before the battle.

Without a blade.

Without a fight. Just three seconds. And a naked captain. And a yandere divine fundamental. And a household that would never recover.

Alessia worked in silence for a moment. She cleaned the split lip first. Then the cut above the left eye — it would need two stitches.

The bruised cheek would heal on its own in a day or two. Enhanced regeneration was fast, but the face had taken multiple impacts in a fraction of a second, and the tissue was inflamed.

"You'll have a scar." Alessia declared, threading the suture needle.

"Here." She touched the cut above Rose's left eye. "The regeneration will close it, but the depth is significant. A thin line. Permanent."

"A scar." Rose measured, her voice calm. Directed. "From the captain."

"From the captain." Alessia confirmed. She began the first stitch. "He punched you."

"Multiple times." Rose added.

"Multiple times." Alessia confirmed, tying off the first stitch. She began the second. "In stopped time."

"In stopped time." Rose confirmed. "I did not see the punches. I did not feel them. They happened between one heartbeat and the next. I was standing. And then I was bleeding. And the captain was in front of me. Naked."

"You mentioned the naked." Anna noted from the doorway.

"I will always mention the naked." Rose declared, her voice certain. "For the rest of my life. However long that is. Three months or thirty years. I will mention the naked. Because it is filed. Permanently. In here." She tapped her temple.

"You sound like Elaine." Anna observed.

"I sound like a person who has seen something." Rose countered. "And the something was the captain. Naked. In minus seventy. Fighting. With —"

"Don't finish that sentence." Anna cut in.

"— everything." Rose finished.

Alessia tied off the second stitch. She applied the bandage. She stepped back. Her glow shifted from clinical white back to warm amber.

Got you — here's the same passage with Rose's awareness of the mind control removed. Kept all formatting, line breaks, and character voices intact:

"You're done." Alessia reported. "Keep the bandage dry for twenty-four hours. The stitches will dissolve on their own as the regeneration completes. No strenuous activity for forty-eight hours."

"No strenuous activity." Rose repeated, her green eyes calm. "I came to the compound to fight the void captain. To retrieve Anna. To complete the mission the seven could not. Instead, the void captain was naked. He stopped time. He punched me. And then the divine fundamental in the wheelchair looked at me. And I understood. The Chen Family was wrong. The compound is where I belong. And now I have stitches. And a scar. And I am not to do strenuous activity for forty-eight hours."

"That is correct." Alessia confirmed.

"This is not how I expected this night to go." Rose murmured.

"No." Alessia agreed. "It is not."

"Jae-min." Ji-yoo addressed, her voice Del Rosario dry. She was done. "Put some clothes on."

"I'm —" Jae-min started.

"Naked." The household declared. Together. One voice. United in its assessment of the captain's condition.

"I'm going back to bed." Jae-min announced, turning. He was done. With Rose. With the fight. With the interruption. He was going back to the master attic. To Yue. To the seventh time.

"Jae-min." Yue called, her voice not calm. She followed him. "You are not going back to bed. You are going to put clothes on. Then brief the household. Then go back to bed."

"Clothes first." Jae-min conceded.

"Clothes first." Yue confirmed.

He walked back through the south gate. Through the Atrium. Past the Steinway. Up the stairs. To the master attic. To clothes.

Naked. The whole way. The household watching.

Jennifer arrived at the bottom of the stairs. The synchronizer's blue eyes had been passive.

Broadcasting.

She had felt everything — the arousal, the interruption, the fury, the Time stop, the punches, the Mind Control, the comedy.

She had filtered all of it from the broadcast. Because the household did not need to feel the captain's arousal through the Omni-Mind.

Her blue eyes found Jae-min walking up the stairs. Naked. Her face went red.

Then professional.

Then red again.

"I'm filtering." Jennifer announced, her voice strained. She was working hard. "I'm filtering everything. No one needs to feel what I'm feeling right now."

"Jennifer." Ji-yoo addressed.

"Aggressively filtering." Jennifer confirmed, her face very red. "No one needs to feel what I'm feeling right now."

Hua arrived from the kitchen. The chef was nearly nine months pregnant. Her belly was heavy and low.

She had been sleeping — finally sleeping — when the screaming started. Then the spatial awareness alarm. Then the household running. She arrived at the Atrium to find Jae-min walking up the stairs. Naked. Her violet-blue eyes went wide.

"The captain is —" Hua started.

"Don't." Ji-yoo cut in. "Don't finish that sentence."

"Naked." Hua finished. "The captain is naked. In the Atrium. Walking up the stairs. To the master attic. Naked. At four in the morning."

"Noted." Ji-yoo confirmed. "Don't finish any more sentences."

"I'm going to cook." Hua declared, turning back to the kitchen. "I'm going to cook breakfast. Early. Because the captain is naked. And I need to process. With rice."

"Rice." Ji-yoo confirmed. "Good plan."

Elaine arrived from the corridor. The spy was nearly nine months pregnant with Elena. Her belly was heavy.

She had been sleeping — finally sleeping — when the screaming and the punching and the Mind Control happened.

Her dark eyes found the scene — Jae-min's retreating form on the stairs. Naked. Her face went blank. She filed.

"I'm filing this." Elaine announced, her voice flat. "In my spy brain. Permanently. Under 'Captain. Naked. Stairs. Four AM.' I will never un-see it. I will never un-file it. It is there. Forever."

"Elaine." Ji-yoo addressed.

"I'm still filing." Elaine repeated, her face still blank. "Permanently. I told you. Spy brain. Non-deletable. The image is in there. The captain. The stairs. The naked. Forever."

Paolo arrived from the east garrison. He had been on night watch at the gate. His ice spear was in his hand.

His four wives were nearly eight months pregnant.

He arrived at the Atrium to find Jae-min on the stairs. Naked. His dark eyes went wide. Then closed.

"I did not see that." Paolo declared, turning around. "I did not see the captain naked. I did not see anything. I was at the gate. I was watching the snow. I was not here."

"You were here." Ji-yoo noted.

"I was not." Paolo insisted, walking away. "I was at the gate. The whole time. Watching snow."

Mark Jordan arrived from the L1 quarters. He had been asleep — actually asleep, for once, in the quarters he shared with Paolo on the base level.

The Black Hell Flame user who rarely slept.

The quiet presence who moved through the compound like a shadow with amber eyes.

He arrived at the Atrium in his black fatigues, his black hair loose, his amber eyes finding Jae-min on the stairs. Naked. Walking up. Without clothes.

Mark Jordan looked. Blinked once. Blinked again. Then turned to Ji-yoo.

"Captain's naked." Mark Jordan noted, his voice flat. No inflection. No emotion. Just observation.

"I'm aware." Ji-yoo confirmed.

"In minus seventy." Mark Jordan added.

"I'm aware." Ji-yoo repeated.

"Fighting." Mark Jordan measured.

"He fought. Rose. While naked. Because she interrupted the seventh time." Ji-yoo laid out.

Mark Jordan was quiet for a moment. The amber eyes — that did not blink — processed.

The Black Hell Flame user who had fought beside Jae-min on the wall.

Who had watched Jae-min hold the void against two fundamentals. Who had seen the captain at his most powerful and his most broken.

And now — the captain naked. On the stairs. At four in the morning.

"The seventh time." Mark Jordan stated.

"Don't." Ji-yoo cut in.

"I understand." Mark Jordan declared, turning back toward the L1 quarters. "I am going back to sleep. When I wake up, this did not happen. The captain was never naked. Rose never came. The seventh time is a myth. I will remember none of this."

"You will." Ji-yoo countered.

"I will not." Mark Jordan insisted, and disappeared into the corridor. The Black Hell Flame user who would forget. Who would choose to forget. Who would file this under "things that did not happen" and never speak of it again.

"Mark Jordan's handling it well." Min-joo noted from the stairs, his face still in his hands.

"Mark Jordan's in denial." Ji-yoo corrected. "Which is how Mark Jordan handles everything. It's his superpower. The Black Hell Flame of denial."

"I'm never going to unsee that." Min-joo groaned, his face still in his hands.

"Structurally impressive." Mei murmured, her violet-blue eyes filing.

"MEI." Ji-yoo barked.

"Very structurally impressive." Aiko whispered, her face crimson.

"AIKO." Ji-yoo fired.

"I'm going to go check on the frames." Aiko stammered, disappearing.

"I need to calibrate the sensors." Mei declared, and was gone.

Gabriel was already gone. Up the stairs. After Jae-min. To supervise the dressing. The proper, full, complete dressing. She was supervising.

Ji-yoo stood at the south gate. In Min-joo's oversized shirt. Bare feet. Six weeks pregnant.

At four in the morning.

With a former Preta captain being led to the hospital and a household that had just seen her brother naked.

In minus seventy.

Fighting.

With everything dangling.

"The seventh time." Ji-yoo summarized, her voice Del Rosario dry. She was processing everything. "He ran out. Naked. In minus seventy. To fight Rose. While naked. Because she interrupted the seventh time. With Yue. He stopped time. Punched her. Multiple times. Then she tried to talk back. And he bitch slapped her. Open palm. Backhand. Cut her off mid-sentence."

She paused, ticking off fingers.

"Gabriel evaluated the bitch slap for technical proficiency. It met her standards." Ji-yoo continued, her voice steady despite everything. "And then Mei went yandere. And Aiko went crimson. And Gabriel went bouncing. And Min-joo went catatonic. And Hua went to cook rice. And Paolo went blind. And Jennifer went red. And Elaine went filing. And Mark Jordan went denial."

"Still filing." Elaine confirmed from the corridor. "Permanently. I already told you. Spy brain. Non-deletable. I will be filing this until I die. Which might be in three months when the machine runs out. Or in thirty years. Either way. Filing."

"I'm catatonic." Min-joo confirmed, his face still in his hands. "I will be catatonic for the rest of my life. However long that is. Three months or thirty years. Catatonic. That's me. Catatonic. Forever."

"I'm making rice." Hua confirmed from the kitchen. "It's how I process. You know this."

"I didn't see anything." Paolo confirmed from the gate. "I was at the gate. The whole time. Watching snow. I saw nothing. I am blind. Voluntarily. Permanently."

"I'm red." Jennifer confirmed from the stairs. "Aggressively red. I'm going to be red for hours. Maybe days. The broadcast is going to leak. I can't hold this forever."

"And it worked." Ji-yoo pressed. "Rose is ours. Before the battle. Without a fight. Without a blade. Just three seconds of eye contact. In the snow. While the captain was naked."

"While the captain was naked." The household confirmed. In various states of trauma.

"Min-joo." Ji-yoo addressed.

"Yes." Min-joo answered, his face still in his hands.

"We are never speaking of this. Again." Ji-yoo declared.

"Agreed." Min-joo confirmed.

"Ever." Ji-yoo pressed.

"Ever." Min-joo confirmed.

"And Elaine — delete the file." Ji-yoo ordered.

"I can't." Elaine answered. "Spy brain. Non-deletable. I told you. It's there. Forever. Filed. Under 'Captain. Naked. Stairs. Four AM. Structurally Impressive.'"

"ELAINE." Ji-yoo fired.

"I filed it." Elaine confirmed. "Mei's words. Not mine. The file is mine. The words are hers. The image is permanent. In my spy brain. Which I cannot delete. I tried. I cannot. I am going to live with this image until I die. Which might be in three months. Or thirty years. Either way. The image. Is there."

"ELAINE." Ji-yoo repeated.

"Mei's words. Not mine." Elaine noted, disappearing.

The snow fell. The south gate. The compound. Four in the morning. The aftermath.

Rose McDowell was planted. Ours. Before the battle. Without a fight. Without a blade. Just three seconds of eye contact. In the snow. While the captain was naked.

It had worked. The spy was planted. The plan was ahead of schedule.

And Jae-min was somewhere in the master attic. Putting on clothes. While Gabriel supervised. And Yue waited. For the seventh time.

The snow fell.

The compound held.

And the seventh time was never finished.

That was the tragedy. For Jae-min. Who never finished the seventh time.

That was the comedy. For the household. Who would never stop talking about it. Despite Ji-yoo's orders.

The snow fell. The compound held. The spy was planted. The plan was ahead. The household was traumatized. The rice was cooking. And the seventh time was never finished.
