Chapter 24 - Embodiment of the Search

"I wish to know who would be the best person to help me create an organization..." I muttered, putting the Wish Ring from Overlord on my finger.

The very next moment, my wish was granted, but...

"Looks like your power only works within a single world..." I said slowly, realizing the ring had shown me several faces, and all of them were from this world. There were a few familiar ones too, including Aladdin's villain—Jafar... even the parrot. So yeah, relying on the Disney world for something like this was clearly a bad idea...

And as usual, my memory couldn't provide a decent option either... I mean, I'm not going to consider S.H.I.E.L.D. from Marvel a good option. I don't really want to go to those kinds of worlds... basically S.C.P. all over again.

"So, what do I need..." I muttered, standing near Arendelle. "A somewhat technologically advanced society, with plenty of scientists capable of handling new tech. Some initial strength, though that's not critical. Also, people with at least a neutral-to-good mindset, so they wouldn't reject my ideas outright. And leadership that isn't like in my world... and all that leads to... who the hell knows what."

I sighed and decided to rely on the portal gun. Maybe it would find something that matched those parameters. Because honestly, I had no idea where to even start searching...

Another portal opened, revealing what looked like an office or a кабинет with a desk near large windows.

A man in a white uniform sat at the desk. He rubbed his eyes, then stared at the portal again as I stepped through it. He immediately jumped up and almost reached for a weapon.

"Nice, technological... I like it. At least this time I didn't end up in some arena or worse," I said, spinning around and looking at the office.

"Ahem... am I interrupting something?" the man asked, watching me closely.

"Not really. I was just looking for a place with decent tech, scientists, and people with a good mindset... and I think I found it."

"I understood nothing, but you just broke into the office of the General of the Atlas Army..."

"Right, I remember... you're General Ironwood, right?" I recalled his name and the animated series tied to him. RWBY... "So this is Atlas... which means it hasn't been destroyed yet... damn, I barely remember the canon. That coffee addict and secret-hoarder guy is still alive? I mean in his current version?"

"Who the hell are you?" the general demanded, though he still hadn't started shooting... so things hadn't gone completely downhill for him yet.

"Sorry about that. I'm Viktor, a traveler. A traveler between worlds." Smile and wave.

"...Great. Another headache..." he muttered, sitting back down.

"Why a headache... well, okay, fair enough. But!" I raised a finger. "I came to make a deal. Or rather... to try and create an organization? I haven't fully figured out the final concept yet, but I want to build something that helps people across different worlds, universes, and multiverses. Because there are a lot of creatures, dangers, and just plain idiots who want to harm humanity."

"I understood that I understood nothing," the general replied seriously.

"Yeah... I get it. I sound insane. But I can show you. Would you believe a random guy who broke into your office and started talking nonsense? Probably not. But I can help you with your Grimm problem... and Salem."

"Nothing suggested this kind of morning..." he stood up. "You know too much for a lunatic... and if you were HER agent, we wouldn't be talking right now." He paused. "Mind if I call someone else?"

"Go ahead, doesn't matter to me." I shrugged.

Soon, a white-haired woman entered the office. The moment she saw me, she tensed up. The general explained everything, and... surprisingly, she agreed with him.

"Let me show you something first," I said. "A world where demons have taken over Earth. An alternate version of humanity's cradle."

I opened a portal. The Earth on the other side was completely overrun by demonic hordes. We stepped through onto a small floating platform created by magic.

The view was... unpleasant. Humanity here was basically gone.

"The smell... sulfur and blood," the general grimaced. "So this is another world? It feels too real... can we go down?"

"Yeah, but it's dangerous." I shrugged, lowering the platform. The general immediately took a soil sample.

"Fresh meat!" a demon lunged at us, only to be cut down instantly by Winter. She stared at its still-moving body.

"What is this place?" she asked.

"Not entirely sure. But like I said, this world has been taken over. And I want to create something that helps worlds like this—where evil needs to be eradicated," I said more confidently. "I'm not a savior, but... I can build something that works like one. Where at the top are people who will never compromise their principles, who will destroy evil wherever it exists. Let's go back."

I opened a portal, and we returned.

"I... don't know what to say," the general admitted. "This is too much, too fast. We're already dealing with Grimm and..." he glanced at Winter and stopped.

"I can give your world weapons against the Grimm. I can help eliminate them. But I understand—you need time to think. I'll come back later..." I opened another portal and left.

"Sir..." Winter said, concerned. "Do you trust him?"

"No. But once, I trusted a 'wizard' and learned things I thought impossible. Maybe I can do it again... but this all sounds insane. Other worlds?"

"Hm. I'll take the sample to the scientists," Winter said, taking it from him.

"Yes. Thank you. Our world may be facing changes..."

After arriving in another world, I thought about the conversation. If the general refused, I wouldn't lose much. I could just move to another version of the same world.

And also...

I should have gone further back in time. When Atlas wasn't so powerful yet. Help them, give them technology, leave, and then return centuries later.

My portal gun allows that.

Right now, even if they agree, how interested will they really be? Why risk anything if their world stabilizes?

Still, that's not the only world. There's also Men in Black, for example. But I need a base. A main world for the organization. Remnant actually fits, though it would take time and effort. But since I've started... why not?

And now I found myself in a world where an organization fights demons using breathing techniques. They're not that strong individually, but their mindset, their goal, their resilience... it's impressive. And strength? That's easy to fix. For me, at least.

They should accept my idea easily. They're already doing something similar—protecting humanity.

"Hm, hope this is the right time and place..." I muttered, immediately hearing the sounds of battle—rapid heartbeats and mocking laughter.

Nearby, a girl and a man were fighting. The man wore a crimson turtleneck, black cloak, and a strange hat. His eyes were... almost rainbow-like.

"Give up, dear. You'll live forever... I'll give you true immortality. Isn't that every woman's dream?"

"Fourth Form: Crimson Hanagoromo," the girl replied, taking a breath and attacking. He casually dodged using a fan.

With a flick of his wrist, he slashed her back. She didn't even cry out, just attacked again. Their speed was far beyond normal humans.

"You're lacking killing intent. It's like... you don't want to kill me," the demon said lightly. "You're adorable."

"Looks like you've got a fight going on..." I said, walking closer.

"Oh, reinforcements?" the demon smirked.

"That's an Upper Moon. We can't defeat him," the girl said. "You need to run and warn my sister and the Demon Slayers—"

"I'm not one of your slayers. I'm a traveler. And I have a proposal for your organization. I'm sure you won't refuse."

The demon covered his mouth with his fan and chuckled. "Oh? And what kind of proposal?"

"I'll help you kill your main enemy—Muzan," I shrugged. "In return, I need people willing to help others... why are you laughing? You're afraid of the sun, you half-baked vampires."

While he laughed, I pulled out the portal gun and fired at the ground beside him.

Sunlight burst out instantly, reducing the demon to ash. He barely had time to look surprised.

"Ahem, where was I? Right. I want to create something like an organization that helps worlds in need. In your world, it's just these sun-fearing leeches. But in others, things can be much worse."

The girl just stood there, mouth slightly open, completely stunned.

Maybe I should have fought him properly, made it more epic... but I have a portal gun and sunlight. And those things kill them instantly.

I wonder what they'd do in a hundred years when UV lamps get invented...
