Looking at this status sheet made Lucifer freeze for a moment. The most important thing was that the triple basic stat boost was seriously cheating.
"Hmm… by current standards, the average stat for an adult is around thirty, right?"
[About that. If there's any difference, it probably isn't much.]
The system wasn't some all-knowing, all-powerful thing anyway. It was there to monitor Lucifer, so it not knowing other stuff was normal.
"I just awakened and I'm already a hundred thirty times stronger than a normal person. A gap like this, one punch, and everything's done nice and quick. But still…"
Since he was treating this world as a game, Lucifer figured he should play it in a way that was actually fun. If one punch killed the enemy, that'd be boring as hell.
[You don't need to worry about boredom. I have lots of quests. The rewards are also extremely exciting.]
Hearing this ad from the system suddenly made Lucifer a bit curious about the reward. He didn't really need more power anyway. The main thing was having fun.
[Don't rush. The system will issue a quest right now…]
[Quest No. 1]
[Requirement: Perform your first act of saving someone.]
[Reward: one random spin ticket]
[You see, a savior should eliminate evil and help humanity. This action is the foundation for you to become a proper savior.]
Hearing the system rambling made Lucifer's eyelids twitch a few times. But that reward did manage to spark a little interest in him.
"Forget that proper savior stuff. I just need to hang out here and crush that tower while I'm at it. Just tell me what kind of rewards can come out of the random spin ticket."
[A lot of things. To be specific, it's hard to say. I can give a few examples like: an unbreakable gaming laptop with infinite battery, internet that connects anywhere, unlimited food or drinks, an ultra-good chair, skills, class, weapons…]
[Just take your time experiencing it and you'll find out. Of course it won't always be good stuff because occasionally some useless garbage might drop too.]
The system said quite a bit but Lucifer only focused on two points: the laptop and internet. The two best things he liked out of all that random stuff.
"System, can you pull some strings or something? I don't need much. Just give me that laptop and internet and I'll happily be a savior."
Lucifer put on a sneaky and shameless smile to beg the system. If he still had his authority right now, he'd immediately alter the system's memory so it'd obediently hand over all the good stuff to him.
[…]
Even though the system didn't have a physical body, it felt a bit cold right now. Lucifer was probably having some extremely terrible thoughts in his head that he wanted to use on it.
[That's completely random. Even if you demand it, there's nothing I can do. If you're so good, go demand it from your superior.]
Hearing the system mention "superior" made Lucifer shut up instantly. He could demand anything from anyone, but he'd never demand anything from his superior.
"Never mind, let's do the quest first."
He was about to head outside and find some random person getting attacked by zombies to save, but then he stopped. He remembered there was something not bad kept in the house.
To the system's confusion, Lucifer went into the bedroom and opened a chest. Inside was a set of black armor made with modern technology and the most advanced materials.
Truth be told, it didn't help much with Lucifer's current enormous strength. He was looking for it because it looked pretty cool. With his gamer mentality of 'if it's not cool, then don't bother playing', wearing this armor was totally reasonable.
[So you already had a plan to be a savior from the start? Guess you really can't judge someone by appearance. Even a demon king can have a kind heart.]
The corner of Lucifer's mouth twitched when he heard this nonsense from the system. He seriously suspected the system was badmouthing him.
"Hmph, less talking. This thing is made from new materials that Victor's corporation researched. He sent me one as a decoration not long ago. Now I feel that playing an RPG without wearing a really stylish outfit isn't good, so I just took it out to use."
After saying that, he immediately put the armor on. He was a bit surprised it wasn't as hot as he imagined. After all, it was high-tech gear, not medieval armor, so the difference was huge.
Picking the armor up, he saw there was also a suitcase underneath. Opening it, there was a pistol with a few dozen bullets inside.
"Huh? Why did Victor send me these toys? One punch and the enemy's gone. Why would I need a gun?"
That's what he said, but he still brought that suitcase along. Mainly to show off to other people, being able to pull out a gun easily.
If this were normal times and he did that, Victor would definitely have to deal with some really troublesome consequences because this was an illegal weapon.
But in the current situation, Lucifer was the rule. If anyone had a problem, come take one punch from him and see if they could still talk big.
Lucifer held the suitcase in his left hand and a steel pipe in his right. He went to each house and banged on the door a few times with the pipe and, as a result, didn't hear anyone.
"What's up? Why is everyone out all of a sudden today?"
[…]
The system was truly speechless at Lucifer's arrogance in assuming everything had to go the way he thought.
[It's office hours right now… Only unemployed people are home. It makes sense you didn't find anyone.]
"Huh??? Are you dissing me? I came to Earth to play, not to work."
Lucifer felt the system was abusing its authority and getting more and more insolent. When he got back to hell, he was definitely going to catch that system and turn it into a slave system.
