After closing his eyes it wasn't long before sleep took Nero and he appeared in the training space "Yumi, are you there?" he called out
"Call my Yumi sensei" a voice stated from behind him as the feeling of cold metal pressed against his throat "first lesson for tonight, don't let your guard down" she stated before removing the kunai from his neck
"Understood Yumi sensei" Nero acknowledged as he rubbed his neck
"That's better" Yumi nodded, the kunai disappearing from her hand "compared to yesterday you do seem stronger, it seems you weren't lying when you said that you would improve at a fast rate"
"Have you been waiting her all this time since then?" Nero asked
"Not exactly, the moment you appeared here I appeared at the same time, I gave you a moment to try and figure out where I was but unfortunately you were unable to do so, that is something you will have to work on" Yumi declared
"Then how did you know it's been a day" Nero questioned
"This space seems to allow me to tell how much time has passed since you have last been here so that I can have a understanding of how quickly you are progressing, I would think you were a genius if you didn't come here for over a year and trained the whole time before telling me that you only trained for a day so the space seems to ensure that you can't lie to me like that to inflate your own ego" Yumi stated
"I wouldn't do that, I was just worried that you would be here all alone and didn't want you to be lonely" Nero declared
"You were worried about me" Yumi's voice hitched as her gaze softened "thank you, but don't think such praise will get you out of training"
"I wouldn't want it to" Nero exclaimed "using the footwork you taught me I was able to take on 5 goblins at once with only a single scratch and that was only because I got a bit cocky and tripped on a rock" Nero admitted with a blush
"Then show me your skills" Yumi gently ordered as a group of 5 goblins appeared and went straight for Nero
He immediately got into a combat stance and the space created kunai in his hands for him to use in the battle, showing off his skills Nero danced through the enemies, keeping his eyes focused on his opponents and striking when he saw an opening, eventually taking out all of the goblins
"Not bad" praised Yumi "considering I only taught you the other day you have improved well, I can tell you have been practising well and have gained some combat experience" she said as she slowly walked to take a position opposite Nero "but let's see how you do against a proper opponent" she stated as she took her own combat stance
"Go easy on me" Nero asked nervously
"If I do that you won't learn, now defend yourself" Yumi declared as she lunged at Nero
"Crap" Nero exclaimed as he tried his best to dodge or block Yumi's blows
"This is a spar, don't just dodge and block, counter me" Yumi ordered
"I'm trying, you're not exactly making it easy" Nero complained as he started taking damage in the form of small scratches
"Don't just try, do it, don't just rely on my teachings use your own initiative and come up with some way to surprise me" Yumi demanded as she increased the intensity of her attacks
"RAGH" Nero roared, forcing himself though Yumi's blows, taking some hits in exchange for tackling Yumi to the ground
Yumi was surprised by the sudden tackle and a small smile appeared on her face as she allowed Nero to force her down, falling in a way that would ensure neither of them were to badly injured
"There.... was that good enough" Nero panted as he pinned Yumi down
"Good, it caught me by surprise" Yumi complimented "but next time make it so that I can't fight back if you're going to do something like this" she smiled, looking down to show Nero the Kunai she was currently holding pointing at his heart
"Ugh" Nero groaned
"Also next time try not to press your face into my chest when you do so" Yumi mumbled with a small blush surfacing on her face
"Did you say something?" Nero asked, not having heard her words
"Nothing" Yumi stated seriously as her body suddenly exploded in a puff of smoke leaving a wodden log in her place, reappearing a small distance away from where Nero was kneeling over the log "now that I have an idea of your skill level I think it is time I teach you something new"
"Are you going to teach me something new everyday?"Nero asked excitedly "what is it today?"
"To answer your first question no I will not be teaching you something new each day, I don't want to give you to many things to focus on" Yumi explained "as for your second question I will be teaching you tessenjutsu, using kunai to fight is good but if you wish to learn from me properly and be able to use all of my techniques it would be better for you to have a good foundation using the same weapon that I do and some of the techniques can still be applied when using kunai so that you won't just be flailing around when fighting and will actually be able to flow better from one move to the other, your footwork shows that you have the ability to do so" she stated as she flicked her tessen open "now watch all of my movements, see how the movements of my feet flow up to my hands and into my fans" she ordered as multiple opponents appeared before her
The rest of the night continued as Yumi would demonstrate her skills, defeating enemies before telling Nero to fight the same foes, each time he was done she would tell him where he could improve and in some occasions demonstrate next to him so that he could compare his form to hers, each time he would improve and take less energy and time to beat the same enemies
"You have done well, it seems like it won't take as long as I thought for you to reach a level where you are able to let me come to your world" Yumi complimented
"You think so" Nero replied
"Don't get overconfident though" Yumi stated, poking his forehead "you still have a long way to go before you master everything" before smiling "but it is good to know I have such a good student"
"Thank you Yumi sensei" Nero smiled before he felt himself waking up "looks like it's time for me to go, before I do, is there anything I can get you for when you finally come to my world, I know it's a long way away but I'd like to know before hand so that I can prepare it in advance" he asked
"Make sure that where ever you live has a nice bath, I like to wash after training sessions, it might not matter here as this space cleans me whenever I feel like I am getting a bit sweaty but that won;t be something I can enjoy once I get to your world" Yumi answered, showing off her arm that was clean and didn't even have a drop of sweat on even after the long training session they had
"I will keep that in mind" Nero replied before bowing to her "goodbye Yumi sensei" vanishing soon after
"Goodby Nero" Yumi muttured just before she disappeared along with the space.
