Chapter 244 - So Powerful?

Chapter 244: So Powerful?

Having successfully consoled herself, Stelle's attention immediately snapped to another, far more important matter—showing off.

She had finally pulled a purple-tier item. Even if it was just a single strand of hair, it was still a genuine, shimmering purple-quality prize. If she didn't flaunt it in the chat group and make everyone green with envy, wouldn't this momentous pull have been a complete waste? How could Stelle, the most dazzling star on the Astral Express, possibly miss such a perfect opportunity to shine?

With a manic grin, she immediately opened the chat group interface and began typing furiously.

[Honkai: Star Rail · Stelle]: "Wahahahahaha! This young hero is blessed by the heavens today! One shot, one kill—I pulled a purple! See? PURPLE! You mortals, hurry and worship your new European Emperor!"

The message, once sent, immediately caused a small explosion in the group. New and old members alike began spamming emojis expressing shock and congratulations.

[Genshin Impact · Hu Tao]: "Whoa! A purple item! Stelle, your luck is amazing! Everyone, look! This is a true European Emperor! When will this humble Funeral Parlor Director ever escape poverty and afford a ten-pull! If only the chat group let you run a tab like a certain consultant I know, that would be perfect."

[Genshin Impact · Venti]: "Ehe~ Such an enviable glow. It seems I'll have to work harder to save up my points. Who knows, maybe next time I can draw a barrel of peerless, bottomless wine? Chat Group, hurry up and refresh some more activities and commissions! We newcomers need some love, too!"

[Honkai: Star Rail · Himeko]: "Seeing you still so energetic, Stelle, is a relief. It seems the adventure on Amphoreus hasn't dampened your spirits."

[Honkai: Star Rail · Welt]: "The Great Sage, Equal to Heaven... Sun Wukong's hair?"

[Honkai: Star Rail · Welt]: "Stelle, if this is truly the hair of the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven that I'm familiar with, then what you've just drawn might be far more powerful than you realize."

[Honkai: Star Rail · Stelle]: "Uncle Yang, you know the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven?"

[Honkai: Star Rail · Welt]: "In my homeworld, there are myths and legends surrounding this figure... To put it simply, this is an incredibly potent life-saving item. Its value is immeasurable."

Welt's explanation instantly sent an even greater shockwave through the group.

[Honkai: Star Rail · March 7th]: "Wreaking havoc in the Heavenly Palace?! Fighting against gods and immortals?! Whoa—!"

[Zenless Zone Zero · Belle]: "...In that case, this is indeed a strategic-level guarantee. Stelle, your luck this time is exceptionally good!"

Stelle stared at the messages from Welt and the others, her eyes widening. The faint gloom she'd felt moments ago over it being a "one-time use" item and "just a hair" instantly vanished into thin air.

So this wasn't just any ordinary hair; it was a strand from a veritable god! It was a super-item capable of summoning a mythical figure to her aid.

"Wahahahahaha!" Stelle suddenly shot up from her perch on the golden trash can, planting her hands on her hips. The last vestiges of her previous disappointment were swept away, replaced by a tidal wave of immense excitement and pride.

"I knew it! I knew I wasn't unlucky! I am the destined European Emperor! See?! The hair of the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven! It can summon an immortal for help at a critical moment! Who else has that kind of power?!"

On the other side of the screen, Welt seemed to anticipate her reaction.

[Honkai: Star Rail · Welt]: "Stelle, calm down. It is precisely because this item is so precious and powerful that you must be even more cautious with it. This is effectively a one-time 'get out of jail free card,' something to be used only in a truly desperate situation, when you are facing certain death."

[Honkai: Star Rail · Welt]: "Remember, do not think you can take reckless risks just because you have this. Your priority must always be stability and safety. Understand?"

Welt's admonishment both affirmed the incredible value of Stelle's prize and served as a timely reminder of the responsibility that came with it.

Stelle saw the message and her triumphant cheering sputtered to a halt. She took a few deep breaths, trying to rein in her galloping excitement.

[Honkai: Star Rail · Stelle]: "Got it, Uncle Yang! Don't worry, I understand! Good things must be saved for critical moments! I absolutely won't use it unless I'm about to kick the bucket!"

Although she said that, the little spark in her heart whispering 'I can be a little more reckless now' was clearly not extinguished, merely suppressed by a thin veneer of reason.

Stelle's showboating and Welt's impromptu lesson had undoubtedly succeeded in provoking a healthy amount of "public outrage" and envy, especially stirring the thoughts of her two companions right beside her.

Her mission accomplished, Stelle closed the chat group interface and turned her attention back to reality.

"So? Did you see that? A purple item! The hair of the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven!" Stelle stood with her hands on her hips, looking proudly at March 7th and Dan Heng.

"Aren't you tempted? Don't you want to try a pull for yourselves? Experience the feeling of golden light... oh, wait, purple light shining down on you?"

March 7th and Dan Heng exchanged a look. In truth, they didn't need any prodding from Stelle; their hearts were already pounding with anticipation after witnessing her harvest. This was what points were for, after all. Who wouldn't want to possess greater strength or more wondrous items?

"This girl really knows how to get under your skin," March 7th muttered, rubbing her hands together. But then, a troubled expression crossed her face. "But... what about the mystic ritual? Pom-Pom isn't here."

Dan Heng's brow furrowed slightly.

He was, by nature, a staunch rationalist who had always scoffed at such superstitions. However, harsh reality had taught him a humbling lesson. He vividly recalled his last gacha session: the almost heaven-defying rewards he'd received after petting Pom-Pom stood in stark, obvious contrast to the pile of junk from his first, ritual-less ten-pull.

Facts spoke louder than theories, and he found himself unable to deny it. That mystic ritual... perhaps it really did have some effect.

"Indeed," Dan Heng admitted reluctantly. "Without that crucial step, the success rate might be affected."

Stelle's mind immediately began to race. Her gaze flitted between the small, ethereal moon floating by March 7th's shoulder and Mimi, who was yawning lazily on her own lap.

"I've got it!" Stelle's eyes lit up as she offered a suggestion to March. "March, your mystic core is far away in the sky, yet close at hand!"

She pointed to the small moon, which was curiously coiling one of March's pink hair strands with a translucent tentacle. "Look, the small moon is a consciousness avatar of Olonios, a fragment of a Titan who wields time itself!"

"Its background is no less impressive than Pom-Pom's... uh, I mean, its blessing power is definitely extraordinary! Why don't you try it?"

Then, she turned to Dan Heng and patted her own chest confidently. "Dan Heng, your blessing is right here with my Mimi! Look, I just pulled a purple item under Mimi's blessing! Practice has proven that Mimi's good luck is effective and has been thoroughly tested!"

March 7th looked at the small moon on her shoulder, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks.

She had only recently met the little creature. Although she found it incredibly cute, the thought of petting it for luck like Stelle did with Pom-Pom—or performing some other intimate gesture to 'absorb good fortune'—made her feel a bit shy in front of her friends.

She hesitated for a moment, then finally just extended her index finger, carefully and lightly touching the tip of a starlight tentacle that the small moon extended toward her. It was like they were completing an extremely simple high-five.

"Alright! Ritual complete!" March 7th declared, turning to the gacha interface as if she had just finished a major task. She muttered under her breath, "Bless me with good loot, bless me with good loot..." Then, as if afraid of changing her mind, she quickly paid the points and initiated a ten-pull.

A flash of light, and the results quickly appeared. There was no purple, as she had half-expected, but there was one blue item among several green and white ones.

March 7th's gaze immediately locked onto the blue prize. It was a small, exquisite object that resembled a classical pocket watch, with beyond understanding runes carved into its casing.

[Form-Fixing Anchor]: A peculiar spatiotemporal stabilization device, typically used for pets or contracted partners. It can set a "form coordinate" for the target. When the target undergoes evolution or a transformation of its form, this anchor point can be used to restore its appearance to the stable state recorded at the anchor point.

Note: This only affects the stability of the external form and does not impact any new abilities, powers, or changes in essence gained after evolution. Simply put, it allows your partner to gain new strength while maintaining the appearance you like.

"Uh..." March 7th held the [Form-Fixing Anchor], her expression a bit complicated.

She subconsciously glanced at the beautiful, glowing blue moon-jellyfish beside her.

To be honest, she thought the small moon's current form was quite lovely, and she really didn't want it to turn into some strange-looking creature later on... Thinking about it that way, this item... didn't seem entirely useless after all?
