Arriving at the last door in the hallway, Alan slowly lifted his hand and grabbed the door handle before slowly pulling it down and opening the door.
Taking a step into the room, his eyes were instantly filled with the sight of tens if not more paintings and drawings, ranging from oil paintings, to acrylics to black and white pencil and charcoal sketches. Each of them done with an insane attention to detail and a level of skill that far surpassed anything Alan had seen in real life.
The room wasn't small, infact it was about as big as his entire apartment had been. A large window with a balcony on the left side of the room, a king sized bed in the middle and the dozens of painting on the right aswell as another door which was slightly ajar, letting Alan look into what was the biggest walk in closet that he had ever seen in his life or even in the small amount of movies that he had seen in his lifetime.
'What… just how rich are these guys?' Alan thought to himself in pure shock, almost being instantly engulfed by a sense of envy before he stopped himself as he shook his head and walked towards the bed before sitting down at the foot of it.
Looking more closely at the paintings on the right side of the room, Alan quickly noticed… a pattern that he hadn't really wanted to notice however it was really apparent.
The paintings were all of Alice herself… though they showed different versions of her, ones with longer hair or ones that looked like a younger or older version of the current Alice, yet they all had one disturbing similarity.
The scenes that the Alice's were portrayed in were almost always bloody scenes of massacre or carnage. The backgrounds of the paintings involving themes of death, be it corpses, bloody roses or some of them even having small maggots crawling up alices face.
Alan's eyebrows slowly rose up as the more he looked, the more his shock increased, until his eyes finally landed on a painting that was almost all the way to the back, as if it had been hidden though it likely wasnt, it was likely just one of the oldest paintings that were here and had thus been hidden as more and more were created after it had.
The painting was simple in a way and yet still uttery disturbing. It showed Alice, her current verision, an exact replica of how she looked with the exception of her hair which wasn't a small pixie cut but was rather a complete buzz cut.
The Alice in the painting was in the middle of what looked like small white room, with decaying old walls and only a single door. At the door stood a single nurse, who appeared to be standing and yet at the same time, looked like she was a zombie, rotting on her feet.
That wasn't what had disturbed Alan however, it was what the Alice in the painting was doing, she was crouched down on the floor and was eating what looked like a disgusting maggot and flee infested mangled body whilst smiling, a wide grinning smile as blood and guts spewed through claw like fingers. Looking like she was having the best time of her life.
A shiver slowly spread through Alan's body, starting from the base of his spine and reaching all around his entire body.
'Alice… what the fuck… as soon as i start feeling better around her, as soon as i start feeling safer around her… I see something like this.' Alan thought to himself as his attention instantly was drawn back to the entrance of the room, his hands slowly clenching and unclenching at his sides as he became rigid, his body entering a state of combat readiness almost instantly.
He had almost forgotten in a way, what exactly the Cullens were, that despite how they had protected a human, how despite the fact that they had, or atleast Alice had only ever been kind and nice towards him. They were still vampires. And Vampires in Alan's book were most definitely monsters who preyed on humans.
It was at that moment as these thoughts were coursing through his mind that the door opened, causing him to flinch as his arms raised up instinctively before his torso for a moment before he slowly willed them back down so that he was gripping the sheets of the bed under him.
Alice had come inside the room, her face had a smile as she looked at him before she stopped as she saw him and then her gaze moved towards the right… where all the paintings were and then slowly returned back towards him and then back to the paintings.
Rotating between him on the bed and the paintings to his right for what felt like a dozen times as her body seemed to become more rigid than before and her smile having frozen on her face.
After a few moments, she finally released a long winded sigh as she walked closer to the bed and sat about as far as she could from him whilst still on the bed and then proceeded to put her elbows on her knees and look down at the ground, not speaking a word for a while.
"So…. you going to explain those?" Alan asked slowly, his voice still sounding as calm as ever for anyone who might have heard it, anyone that wasn't Alice that is. Anyone that was Alice who had been almost completely obsessed with him since her eyes had landed on him.
"Yeah… I guess I have to now. I didn't really want to have this conversation… and I didn't want you to see those either." Alice replied softly after a moment of silence that felt longer than it had any right to be.
