"Yay, you're the best!"
Getting Baishui's answer, Aki happily pecked him on the cheek, leaving a faint red lipstick mark.
"Oh you... I'm just taking you out to see some scenery, is it really that big a deal?" Baishui rolled his eyes, but his face was plastered with a wide, genuine smile. Being treated like this by the girl he loved, he naturally couldn't hold back his joy.
Two days later, the couple returned to Kuro Island after their leisurely trip.
Almost immediately, the town's mayor appeared before Baishui, asking for a favor. Baishui found it odd. What could the mayor possibly need his help with?
"Just say the word! If it's something I can help with, I absolutely won't refuse," Baishui said, sitting on the ground and looking at the somewhat nervous and restrained mayor.
"It's Nael.
He's fallen ill and needs a specific medicine. But we don't have enough money... so, I was hoping to borrow some from you. Don't worry, I have the money, I'll pay you back right away!" Seeing Baishui's friendly attitude, the mayor fidgeted for a moment before quietly stating his purpose.
"Haha, is that it? Mayor, just name the amount!" Baishui laughed. He had thought he was going to be asked to do some heavy lifting, but it was just a matter of borrowing money.
"Also... we don't have a doctor on the island who can treat him. So, I'd like to ask you to set sail and take him to the hospital on Ship-Cutter Island for treatment." As the mayor spoke, his head lowered involuntarily. Looking thoroughly ashamed, he stood frozen in place, not daring to move.
"Hmm."
"No problem, Mayor. Put your mind at ease. I'll set sail right now and take Nael to Ship-Cutter Island, alright?" Baishui rubbed his temples, looking a bit tired, but he readily agreed to the request.
"Thank you!" Hearing Baishui's agreement, the mayor nearly dropped to his knees, repeatedly bowing with his hands clasped together, his face overflowing with profound gratitude.
"Alright, alright, Mayor, please don't do that. As a junior, I can't accept such a grand gesture from you! A prolonged illness can't wait. Let's get Nael ready to go!" Baishui stood up and supported the elder, a wry smile on his face.
"Oh, right, right, right!" Reminded by Baishui, the mayor looked as if he had just woken up and hurriedly rushed out.
"Stay home and be good while I'm gone, okay?" Baishui pulled Aki into an embrace, gently stroking her hair.
"Mhm, I know. Be safe on the water!" Aki nodded, smoothing out the wrinkles in his clothes.
"I'm off then!" Releasing her, Baishui turned and left, his figure growing smaller in her eyes.
At the Port!
Baishui had just arrived at the seaside when he saw the mayor and his wife rushing over, carrying a child between them, completely out of breath.
"You two are too frantic. Let's go!" Baishui lowered the gangplank, signaling them to board.
"Thank you!" The mayor's wife walked over and bowed deeply to him. Baishui quickly stepped aside, not daring to accept it. He couldn't accept such a heavy bow from an elder.
"Hold on tight!" Baishui warned. His eyes focused, and the entire ship roared to life, parting the sea as it sped relentlessly forward.
Half an hour later, Baishui's group arrived at their destination: Ship-Cutter Island.
The Marine soldiers stationed on the island basically all recognized Baishui. Seeing who had arrived, they quickly lifted the barricades, offered a crisp salute, and asked, "What brings you here today, sir?"
"Haha, it can't be helped. The grandson of my island's mayor got sick, so I brought them here to see a doctor." Baishui laughed, a hint of helplessness on his face.
"Oh, I see!"
The Marine nodded, stepped aside, and gestured, "Please, come ashore!"
Baishui and the mayor's family disembarked. Considering it was the mayor and his wife's first time on the island, Baishui personally escorted them to the best hospital available.
After handling the relevant paperwork, the mayor's grandson was finally admitted to a ward. Only then did the two elders let out a massive sigh of relief, their faces showing sheer liberation.
"Alright, it's fine now. You two don't need to worry. The medical standard here is guaranteed. Since Nael is already in their hands, he'll be just fine. Why don't you sit down and catch your breath? We'll wait for the doctor's results. It'll be okay!"
Seeing their anxious faces, Baishui smiled and offered words of comfort.
"Heh, true. Look at us, we aren't even as clear-headed as a young man like you!" The mayor scratched his head and chuckled awkwardly before sitting down on a chair in the waiting area like an obedient child. With his legs pressed tightly together and his head bowed staring at the floor, he didn't dare move a muscle—just like a statue.
It was obvious they were extremely intimidated. After all, this was their first time in such a luxurious facility. In the past, they wouldn't have even dared to dream about setting foot in a place like this.
It couldn't be helped; human nature is like that. Once they got used to it, they'd be fine.
Baishui, naturally, stayed behind to wait with them. If he left, the mayor and his wife would probably break down. Without Baishui here as their anchor, they'd be completely lost and bewildered. Who knew what kind of panic might set in then.
Meanwhile...
Not long after Baishui left, an incredibly luxurious yacht docked near Kuro Island. Judging by the emblem on the sail, it belonged to a major VIP from a certain kingdom.
The first to disembark was a squad of burly men in black suits. All of them were entirely stoic, sporting buzz cuts and massive builds—clearly not people to be trifled with. The head bodyguard was even more terrifying. His face was covered in a thick layer of fat and a ferocious scowl. Standing there, he looked like an iron tower, emitting an aura that made the heart palpitate.
And the person they were guarding was a haughty, arrogant young man.
He didn't look older than eighteen. He wasn't particularly handsome, but passable enough. Dressed in luxurious purple clothing, he wore a small crown on his head. With a gaunt figure, a hooked nose, and slightly upturned lips, he hardly looked like a pleasant person. By his appearance, he seemed to be a royal prince.
Beside him were two glib-looking young men, trailing half a step behind the prince with faces plastered in sycophancy.
Who was he? No one knew.
What was he here for? No one knew.
But they came ashore just like that, and no one on the entire island dared to stop them. They walked in a straight line directly to Baishui's house.
"Oh? To think such a remote little island would have a house with this kind of style. Good! I'll be staying here today!" The prince made the decision on the spot, completely bypassing Aki's opinion on the matter.
"You lot, go fetch the owner of this house. Tell them I, Aurora Rich, am claiming this building!"
So this prince's name was Aurora Rich.
"Yes, sir!" The head bodyguard—the burly man with the ferocious face—acknowledged the order and marched toward Baishui's front door.
"And you guys, those trees look like an eyesore. Throw them out!" Rich ordered inexplicably, pointing at the fruit trees Baishui had painstakingly cultivated for fresh juice.
Rich was entirely tyrannical. If he saw it, it was his; if he didn't like it, it had to be thrown away. He didn't care in the slightest about the owner's feelings.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Aki, who was carefully cooking a delicious meal, was suddenly startled by the violent pounding on her front door. Her hand slipped, dumping a heavy lump of salt into the pan. A pot of perfectly good food was instantly ruined.
Aki was furious. She threw down her spatula, marched angrily to the front door, yanked it open, and shouted, "Who is it?! How rude!"
She assumed it was a local islander, but upon opening the door, she found a nearly three-meter-tall brute bending down to glare at her. The sheer viciousness in his eyes made her jump in fright.
"Who are you? What do you want?" But remembering Baishui's fearsome reputation, Aki instantly found her courage and demanded an answer.
"My prince has taken a liking to your house and is now commandeering it. Please vacate the premises immediately. If you exceed the time limit, we will use coercive measures!" The brute spouted a string of bureaucratic threats that left Aki completely baffled.
"What? Commandeer? Commandeered by who? Why on earth do I have to agree to that?!" Aki scratched her head in confusion.
That bewildered, innocent look on her face made a certain someone nearby perk up.
"This woman doesn't look half bad. Excellent, I've decided! Make her my wife!" The moment he laid eyes on Aki, a perverted, greedy light shined in Rich's eyes as he commanded the two lackeys behind him.
"Yes, sir! We will process the paperwork for your ninety-first wife immediately!" One of the men answered. After adjusting his suit, he walked toward Aki with absolute confidence.
"Hello there. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Deville, the chief assistant to His Royal Highness, the Prince of the Green Fruit Kingdom. I am honored to inform you that, as of a moment ago, you have become a princess consort of our kingdom! Come now, Princess, let us go!"
The man reached out to grab Aki's hand.
Smack!
However, what greeted him was a resounding slap right across the face.
"You dare slap me, you bitch?!" The man stared in pure disbelief, clutching his rapidly reddening cheek.
"So what if I hit you? Who wants to be some ridiculous princess?! I have a boyfriend, alright! You can eat whatever garbage you want, but you can't just spout nonsense!" Aki put her hands on her hips and domineeringly scolded him, looking exactly like a fierce little tigress.
"Heh, well this is interesting. Unfortunately for you, little girl, you don't have a choice!" The head bodyguard chuckled darkly, using his massive frame to completely block the doorway. "You're coming with us, whether you like it or not. Otherwise, I'll have to get rough!"
"Get out of my way! You people are completely insane.
One minute you're commandeering my house, the next I'm a princess. What is this garbage?!" Aki glared at the brute. "Are you going to move or not? If you don't move, I'm screaming for help!"
"Heh, scream all you want. If anyone comes out to help you, I'll take your surname!" The brute wasn't phased in the slightest, laughing arrogantly.
Damn it, where did these guys even come from? And Baishui just happened to leave. Why did it have to be now of all times?! Seeing the brute's absolute confidence, Aki gave up on the idea of calling for help. He was right. Even if she screamed, no one on the island would dare answer her call against people like this.
"Hello there, my princess. A pleasure to meet you. Please allow me to introduce myself—my name is Aurora Rich!"
Just then, Aki felt another presence step directly in front of her. She looked up, making direct eye contact with Rich.
