Jayden leaned against an old car.
The city around him was eerily silent—empty.
The air felt heavy. Charged.
He sat on the hood, tightened his grip on his mic, and muttered:
"Everything okay over there?"
Kyle and Satsujin appeared on the screen. Kyle frowned.
"Everything's fine… a little too fine. Admit it, Jayden—this is all a lie."
"It's not!" Jayden snapped. "I'm wasting time too, you know!"
Suddenly—
A blade shot toward him at high speed.
He dodged at the last second. The saber slammed into the hood where he had been.
"Kyle… it's getting serious," he said.
A cold voice echoed:
"I'm tired of hiding… either way, I'm going to kill you."
Kurai appeared.
No hood. Black sweater. Expression empty.
He teleported in front of Jayden and drove a brutal punch into him, sending him crashing against the car. Jayden dropped to a seated position, dazed.
Kurai moved to grab his saber—
Jayden countered instantly.
Blades clashed.
Kicks. Slashes. Rapid dodges.
Kurai extended his blade using white energy, the added length glowing intensely. He swung in a massive arc—
Jayden slid under the car, rolled, and avoided the strike.
Kurai fell—
then immediately launched himself forward again.
Close-up on Jayden's face.
Pure focus.
He blocked—but Kurai's pressure forced him to his knees.
Jayden's expression tightened.
Blood ran down his hand.
Three fingers—
gone.
His saber slipped from his grip.
Kurai stepped forward, a dark silhouette closing in.
Jayden, bleeding heavily, tried to stand again.
Ready.
Kurai's technique had already destroyed half the city.
He moved in to finish it.
Jayden dodged—
then drove a brutal punch into Kurai's stomach.
Damn… I forgot how strong his hits are… even without energy… I should've listened to the master, Kurai thought.
Kurai's eyes turned white.
Jayden took a stance—
Head Slice.
But with his fists.
A blue energy line formed—
and struck Kurai's face at inhuman speed.
His face warped.
The punch sank in—
slow motion.
Impact.
Kurai was launched into the air, crashing into a half-collapsed building.
Zoom on his face—pain visible.
Jayden grabbed his saber and ran toward Kyle and the others.
Kurai rose slowly.
"If he keeps throwing punches like that…" he muttered.
He dashed again.
Too late.
Jayden had already reached the group.
Kyle and Satsujin stepped forward.
Kurai went for Jayden's neck—
Satsujin blocked.
Kim arrived, drawn by the noise.
"What are you doing?!"
"Stay behind me!" Jayden shouted.
The fight turned chaotic.
Kyle slashed—Kurai dodged.
Satsujin leapt—took a heavy kick.
Kyle spun—Kurai evaded and pierced his abdomen.
Kim took a Head Slice stance—pink energy lines shot toward Kurai's neck—
he dodged and struck her down.
Jayden countered with a powerful blow, forcing Kurai back.
They all prepared for one final attack.
Time slowed.
A drop of sweat ran down Jayden's face.
Kurai raised his blade again.
Head Slice.
Four white energy lines shot toward the necks of all of them.
"No time for this," Kurai said.
His body distorted mid-motion.
Slash.
All of them—
hit.
Overwhelmed despite their counters.
They fell.
Jayden, barely conscious, saw Kurai walking toward him.
Saber extended.
The blade slowly pierced his neck.
Blood spilled.
His vision dimmed.
"Look at the mess you've made," Kurai murmured. "You're dead."

Frozen.
Still determined—
even now.
