Kiryas and the Boy, who are in the crowds watching as the man slaughters the others, turn pale with fear and Kiryas starts to run away along with the crowd. The Boy however, although scared, stands still and unmoving as he condenses his aspect and prepares a small mist of disease.
This time, rather than using it in a slow and spread-out way, he gathers them into a small point to maximize aim as he watches the man slowly becomes covered red of the blood of the villagers. He sends it in a direction of where a villager is running and it strikes them.
As the disease is planted onto the man, he isn't immediately affected due to the boy changing the composition of the disease in the mist but instead runs for a while before being ultimately cut down by the man who is now completely covered in the blood of the villagers.
He seems to have an almost crazed expression on his face as he slowly gets faster and faster in his slaughter of the people. The Boy, however, doesn't run immediately amidst the crowd of retreating villagers and instead runs toward a pile of corpses nearby and without the man in red noticing, places himself in a place which showed the illusion of him being one of the many corpses.
A few hours later, the man in red, with a much calmer expression now, slowly walks out of the village which is set ablaze by him with only the crackling of the spreading fire being heard due to everyone being killed by him.
The Boy only gets up after a few more minutes to ensure he isn't caught. Feeling the need to get supplies, he goes into the burning village and scavenges the remains which haven't caught on fire just yet.
He manages to get some food and other necessities like water or clothes. He then goes to the body of the now dead chief and unstraps the weapons from his body. There was a bow which hadn't been broken yet and a small iron dagger as well as arrows.
He is startled when something grabs him by the ankle.
"Help... Me ... Please ..."
The chief, as it turned out, still seemed to hold onto some life left and is currently begging the boy to help him. The Boy, staring with a gaze that held the emptiness which humans, no matter if they suffered from something traumatic or something which scars them for life, shouldn't have as they are beings with the 7 cardinal emotions, Anger, Disgust, Fear, Sadness, Happiness, Surprise, and Contempt.
The chief shivers from the Boy's gaze and tries moving away from him as the Boy unsheathes the dagger from its small holding made of leather and string. The dagger itself seemed sharper than what its size and blade had made it seemed but nonetheless the Boy moves towards the chief as he opens his mouth and
"Tahnk ouy adn ogodybe"
The sound of flesh being pierced is heard as for the first time, the Boy hears the sound of the spell whisper into his ear.
