Chapter 5 - Way to hell

Here's a polished, professional rewrite in the style of a skilled light novel author. The narrative flows smoothly, the world-building feels natural, the humor is balanced, and Venisha's dangerous side is properly ominous:

Demons.

They were living species native to the Netherworld—a realm where only souls could originally enter. Upon crossing the threshold, the peculiar laws of that world would grant each soul a physical body shaped by its true nature.

Nearly three hundred years ago, a mad witch tore open the gate between worlds. Demons poured into the mortal realm, and a devastating war erupted.

"Demons are evil by nature," the clergy preached. "Even a half-demon carries that instinct deep within their blood."

In the brutal conflict that followed, the majority of the invading demons were slain. The few who survived went into hiding, desperately searching for a way to reopen the gate so they could return to the Netherworld and grow stronger. Here in the mortal world, they were forced to conceal their true selves just to survive.

"Demons may possess emotions and form societies like any other race," declared the First Priest of Light and Flames, "but they are evil at their core. They must be eradicated."

Venisha let out a soft, amused laugh.

"And I wholeheartedly agree," she murmured to herself. "After all… I was born evil. Hehehe."

She considered herself the most dangerous woman in the kingdom. Born into the prestigious Acronym household, her father had been human while her mother was a full-blooded succubus.

As a child, she had often asked her mother the same question:

"Mother, how did you meet Father?"

"He came to our village," her mother would reply with a gentle smile. "He was the young Duke Acronym at the time. I was just a poor girl… but I knew I was a succubus…"

Venisha's lips curved into a wicked smile as she recalled those stories.

"Mother… I've finally found one. One who can truly take me." Her inner voice dripped with dark delight. "So I will take everything from him. His soul… is mine. Hehehe."

"Today is such a beautiful day!" Venisha said cheerfully as she began walking out of the garden. She had originally been heading toward the grand ceremony hall—today marked the graduation of the fifth-year students. Rumors had been swirling that one of the seniors planned to do something spectacular as a parting gift to the academy.

Then she heard a loud crash.

A human body had slammed into the ground. A fifth-year senior.

At first, she thought, Is the rumor true? Is suicide the grand crazy act? But when she recognized the figure, her eyes widened. Isn't that Senior Arthur Flamebout? Is he trying to…

Before she could finish the thought, flames erupted around him.

"What the—? Is that the unique bloodline of the Flamebout family?" Venisha's mind raced. She knew the limits of many noble bloodlines well—especially the five major houses that everyone feared. The Flamebouts were known as the Monarchs of Fire. Some of their flames were said to be so intense they could even burn lava itself.

"But… why isn't there any smell of burning flesh?" She paused, then her expression brightened with realization. "Ah… I see! That flame… it's healing him. Wonderful! Hehehe."

Without realizing it, a genuine smile had formed on her face.

"I want that flame," she thought, her demonic instincts stirring. "My blood is screaming for it. Hehehe…"

She watched as Arthur slowly rose and began walking straight toward her.

"Hm? Why is he coming here?"

When he suddenly grabbed her hand, her thoughts spiraled. What? Why is he grabbing my hand? His eyes are so sharp… Does he know about me? Have I been exposed? Is he trying to hurt me?

"You're hurting me, Senior…" she whispered, acting fragile and weak.

But Arthur's next words shattered her composure completely.

"I am going to take everything from you now!"

Her mind went blank.

Ha? Hah? Haaaa? What is he talking about? Why is he suddenly being so bold? She wasn't complaining, but still—He wants to take everything? My soul… my body? Is this… a proposal?

For a brief, dizzying moment, her imagination ran wild with visions of marriage and children. Then a darker thought crept in: I wonder how he would feel if I betrayed him later…

Before she could spiral further, Arthur leaned in and kissed her.

That's my first kiss! she thought, stunned. No fair… but I'm not complaining!

After Arthur hurriedly left for his dormitory, Venisha stood alone in the garden for a long moment. Then she smiled—slowly, sweetly, and dangerously.

She had noticed him from the very beginning, ever since he had jumped from the fifth-floor window.

"That guy has guts," she murmured. "And that's exactly why I managed to claim his healing flames."

Her power was the Succubus Flame. Through physical contact, she could extract a fragment of the other person's genetic essence and make a portion of their abilities her own.

Venisha truly believed she was the most dangerous woman alive. Half-human, half-succubus, and a rare mutant who had inherited both her mother's seductive flames and the unique flame arts of the Acronym bloodline.

Though her mother had taught her how to wield those powers, Venisha had always been shy—until today.

"It was my first kiss…" she whispered, touching her lips with a faint blush. Her eyes gleamed with a hint of madness, and her smile became that of a true villainess. "Thanks to Senior Arthur, I can speed up my plans."

She turned and began walking toward the ceremony hall, her steps light and graceful.

"Time to conquer this kingdom."

Later that morning

Back in his room, Arthur quickly changed into his formal academy uniform. Since breakfast time had already passed, he grabbed a simple piece of bread from the cafeteria and headed straight for the grand hall where the graduation ceremony was being held.

As expected, nearly everyone else was already there.

Arthur glanced at his student ID and smirked. He looked up at the massive ceiling mural depicting the Great War between humans and demons.

"This place is so crowded that even standing still makes it feel more packed. Sigh… what am I even saying?" He glanced toward the invisible audience with a knowing smirk, once again breaking the fourth wall. "You want entertainment, right? Fine. I'll give you some."

He walked over to the designated seating area for the fifth-year students and took his place. On stage, a teacher was giving a speech. Arthur ignored it and casually observed his classmates.

"…And with that, I conclude my remarks," the teacher announced. "I would now like to invite our esteemed principal to the stage to offer words of encouragement to our graduating fifth-years. Please welcome Mr. Obi with a warm round of applause!"

The teachers began clapping enthusiastically, and the students quickly joined in.

An elderly man with long white hair and a matching beard stepped onto the stage. He carried a large wooden wand and wore luxurious robes that spoke of both wisdom and authority.

"Oh… I know him," Arthur murmured under his breath.

"Obviously. He's the principal," the student sitting beside him replied dryly.

Arthur turned to look at the boy, then ignored him completely, his expression clearly saying, Who are you? You're just an extra. While I'm… well, a rich noble with meta-knowledge. Basically a cheater without an actual cheat system.

He kept those thoughts to himself and said nothing.
