Chapter 7 - Part 7

Looking at Guo zhen all well behaved, Father Li decided to let the displeasure of the day go. He had raised his enemies son for nineteen years, what an absolute disgrace to his pride, and family name, but at least even though Li Wei had a lot of flaws, he wasn't too much of an embarrassment.

"Secretary Fu, call home, tell them to prepare for the Young Masters arrival." Li Tianlong stood up, getting ready to leave. Then he remembered something, took out a checkbook from his pocket and filled a check with the amount of one million yuan. He then handed it to his secretary with a look.

Secretary Fu understood what he meant, he collected the check from his boss and walked over to where Ran had been standing. Handing it over to him with a bow, "Thank you for your troubles and for taking in the Young Master all these while."

Ran looked at the man before him, not sure what to do. Then he looked at Guo zhen, seeing his approval, took the check from secretary Fu, but he didn't say anything in response.

After making a call, "The car has been brought around sir." Secretary Fu said, looking at Father Li.

"Alright." He walked outside.

Guo zhen moved to walk out with him, but turned to leave Ran with a slight smile first.

Nothing good ever came from Guo zhen smiling, Ran thought.

Then they all left.

Ran felt someone pull something out of his hand. When he had arrived, he wasn't sure, lost in thought of the things that had happened and the possible repercussions, for example, the person before him now "They expect to shut us up with a measly one million yuan?"

Ran exhaled, 'here came another lunatic.' He had to do damage control.

It was only Guo zhen who thought this precious younger brother of his was a shy and timid normal university student who had to be protected at all times. If he was a great actor or his boss simply had a Fang Rui filter on, he didn't know, but it had become an unspoken rule in their circle that they saw or heard nothing.

"Wait."

"I know." Fang Rui responded with some displeasure. He knew they didn't have all the information yet.

"The Li family can wait, but Mr Edward.." a dark chuckle escaped Fang Rui's lips.

"I'll take care of it."

"It was all his fault, Edward is a traitor, it was all his fault." Fang Rui kept mumbling, and repeating under his breath.

Ran looked at him and wondered if there was anything he could say.

There wasn't.

So he left to complete his orders as well.

It seemed Mr Edward would have to face the full brunt of Fang Ruis anger, at least systematically destroying them should serve as a little distraction to him.

Ran shook his head, bringing out his phone to start making preparations. "How unlucky."

After a four hour flight, and a thirty minute drive from the airport, Guo zhens party finally arrived at the Li estate.

"You know you can just skip all these parts right?" Su Yansheng said, after being forced to endure the long journey with everyone else.

Guo zhen looked at him. "No I didn't."

Looking a bit confused, "Oh."

"Oh…. It's seems I really did forget to explain somethings to you." Looking around the estate on the drive to the main residence, Yan still didnt look like he was going to explain anyway.

Guo zhen felt an headache coming up.

Unreliable.

When Yansheng felt a stare begin to bore into the back of his head, he finally gave up sightseeing. "Fine, fine, but there's not enough time to get into details. Just think of it as, you're the filmmaker, you can fast forward, rewind, and take us to any part of your memory."

"Do you understand?"

Guo zhen understood, but he still felt like this guy was too unreliable and fliverous. So he didn't respond. Let him suffer the rest of the ride home.

"Hey I'm talking to you, did you get it?" Yan moved closer to Guo zhen at the back seat of the car he was riding in, trying to will him to look at him.

Before Yansheng could keep asking, the car finally stopped. Outside, on either side of a woman dressed in a brown blazer, white inner shirt with the sleeves folded up, a black pant trousers and with her black hair cut neatly to her chin length, a row of servants were standing. Dressed in staff uniforms of monochrome colors, deep forest green.

Pointing with his head and tapping him with his shoulder, Yan looked a bit excitedly at the people outside. "Wow, such a big display, so grand, so high rise."

The both of them stepped out of the car, but stood to the side.

"Shut up."

A little laugh in his voice, "Okay."

Father Li stepped out of the car and saw that it was only his daughter that had stepped outside to welcome him. The staff didn't count.

"Where's your mother and brother." Father Li climed up the steps to stand beside his daughter.

At this moment, Guo zhen also stepped out of the car.

He looked at the big display of people coming out to welcome him but didn't see his 'mother'. Then he looked behind the rows of people outside, saw the gold columns, lion status placed outside the building and the lavish design that had been employed in beautifying the place.

Nice house.

Li Xui, the eldest miss of the Li household stood beside her father, whispering some words to him, all the while taking notes of the expression of this new brothers of hers.

He hadn't been overwhelmed by the gift she had specifically prepared for him, neither did he look humble. He seemed to simply look around like he was here for a stroll. 'He might be trouble.' She first thought.

Then she looked at his hair and eyes and the idea left her mind. She definitely had more ways to handle him, but for now, she might need to change her strategy.

Since Li Wei was trying to cause trouble, there was no harm in fanning the flames.

"Nonsense." When Father Li heard his daughters report, he rebuked strongly, then he pointed at Guo zhen who had been resting by the car, "You, come inside."

Guo zhen finally took his first step towards the house.

Father Li first entered the house, followed by secretary Fu. When Guo zhen moved to follow, he passed beside his new sister, saw that she wasn't going to say anything and didn't bother either. They would take their time knowing each other better in the future. The rows of staff bowing and calling out, 'Welcome home, Young Master.'

Li xui saw that Guo zhen didnt bother to say anything to her, neither did he acknowledge the people who had greeted him. She crossed her arms, a smirk on a face, watching him enter the house as well.

"Eldest miss." A man who looked like a typical bodyguard dressed in a black suit, white shirt and black leather shoes appeared beside her, looking a bit worried in the direction of the house entrance. He had an ordinary face, the kind that could easily get lost in a crowd.

"Don't worry, Mo Ying." She turned to pat him on the shoulders. "Since he has arrived, I will take care of him properly."

"He's my, Li Xui's brother after all." Then she took large strides to catch up to the people that had entered the house.

"Your sister."

"Hmm."

"She doesn't like you?"

"Hm."

"Oh." Su Yansheng looked at Guo zhen, then at the house everyone had just entered. Then he looked back at Guo zhen.

"I like you."

Guo zhen had been about to give his usual one word response when he heard Su Yansheng say this. He jerked his head sharply to look at him.

A smile appeared on Yans face. "Even if everyone doesn't like you, I like you."

Then without waiting for him to respond, Yan started walking towards the house as well.

Guo zhen stood frozen where he stood.

When he got to the door, Yan realized that he might have forgotten something. Oh, something about adding 'So don't give up, okay,' to his earlier declaration.

Hmm, it didn't matter. Next time, next time he'll say it.

It mattered.
