Song Dohyun finds out exactly at 6:14 AM.
He knows the exact time because he looks at his phone when it rings and registers the number; Carmine's backup contact, the one she only uses when something has gone wrong and the timestamp is already there before he answers.
"She's gone," Carmine says.
Song Dohyun sits up in bed in the dark.
"For how long?"
"The evening rotation noticed at ten PM. I was only informed an hour ago." A pause. "The perimeter was clean. No forced entry and no alarms triggered. It looked like a Division extraction... credentials, documentation, everything in order."
"It wasn't the Division."
"No," Carmine agrees. "I don't believe it was, Mr. Song."
Song Dohyun looks at the aquarium across the room. The jellyfish drift, now seems indifferent for him.
"The documentation," he sighs. "Get me a copy. Today."
"It's already arranged, Mr. Song."
He ends the call without saying anything else and he sits in the dark for a moment.
'Gone,'
