In the future, if he had another chance to face Wakatoshi Ushijima, he would not let him have so many chances to spike the ball into their court again. Hank was completely certain of that now that he had fully mastered Predictive Blocking.
This was not a blind guess. Right now, he truly possessed that kind of strength.
"I just don't know whether Predictive Blocking can still be upgraded. If it can, then that would be even more absurd."
A thought suddenly surfaced in Hank's mind. If he obtained another skill upgrade card, could he use it to upgrade the Predictive Blocking technique he had just improved? If it could be upgraded again, then his blocking ability would rise even further.
He might even become the strongest blocker in volleyball history.
But just as this thought appeared in Hank's mind and he was about to check whether it could still be upgraded, he suddenly saw a notification behind the volleyball skill Predictive Blocking, saying that it could no longer be improved.
Seeing that, the faint hope he had been holding onto completely collapsed.
Predictive Blocking was already the strongest current form of blocking technique. If he wanted to go a step further, then he would have to borrow the power of team coordination.
After all, volleyball was a team sport. As expected, mutual cooperation would be necessary in the future. Relying on one person alone would still not be enough to reach the very end.
…
"Hank-chan, thank you."
His consciousness returned to reality. After Hank bowed in thanks together with everyone from the Aoba Johsai volleyball club, he quickly heard Toru Oikawa's words.
Although they were only a few short words, Hank could feel deep sincerity in them.
It seemed that Oikawa was truly grateful to him.
"This is the result of all of us working hard together. Without everyone's cooperation, we wouldn't have made it this far either."
Hank smiled faintly. He was unwilling to admit that Aoba Johsai's victory over Shiratorizawa was his achievement alone. After all, volleyball did not require just one person.
"All right, Hank, just let Oikawa have this for once. He hasn't acted this normal in a long time."
After all, winning the final championship of the Spring High preliminaries required far, far too much effort.
A few simple words were not enough to explain the result they had achieved.
For them, and for the whole of Aoba Johsai, earning a ticket to Spring High was a tremendous success. It was their first step toward a larger stage.
"…Iwa-chan, is your foot better now?"
After hearing Hajime Iwaizumi's words, Toru Oikawa directly let go of the hand supporting him. Iwaizumi immediately started yelling in pain. If Iwaizumi had a stick in his hand right now, Oikawa might already have been beaten with it.
"Hank-chan, we'll head out first. See you at the club tomorrow."
After Oikawa and Iwaizumi joked around with each other for a while, Oikawa turned his head and spoke to Hank.
Now, they had already accomplished their dream. Next, they would have to continue working hard for Spring High.
After all, that was what people were like. Once they completed one goal…
They would start chasing an even greater dream.
