The Mendoza family, the family who had escaped from a volcanic eruption, had found an uphill town and were now hiding in a house whose owners kindly opened the door for them.
They watched as the ashes from the explosion fell like snow, staring blankly as they internalised what had happened to them.
They then looked at the others in the house. There were quite a few people there, all of whom had successfully ran away from the magma and ash.
They ended up in one of the houses in a nearby village a couple of kilometers away from the volcano.
It was covered with ash as if it were heavy snow, but at least the magma didn't reach it. It was also slightly uphill, making it safer.
This town was now filled with refugees from surrounding towns and villages. They were also stuck there until things calmed down a bit more. For one, there was no visibility due to the ash. If they didn't suffocate first, they'd have gotten to a car accident.
