Peter, who was heavily injured, lifted his head and adjusted his body to see what was going on. He ended up coughing out blood in shock.
Alyssa, the doctor, wanted to slap him. "Sit properly!"
"How can I—cough!"
Some of it splattered on Gina, and she looked at him in disgust. Fortunately, she wasn't that tactless to verbalise it.
Their minds were reeling. They hadn't even internalized every tragedy yet, but now they see something so magical.
"Maybe we imagined it?" Fred mumbled. Maybe there was never a giant piece of rock there at all? Or perhaps they were in the wrong place?
The others looked at him strangely, but internally they also wondered if they were being delusional.
Clearly, there were signs of impact there, and the place was absolutely familiar to them. It was the last view they had, how could they forget?
The 'logical' explanation was definitely that it had disappeared.
