Chapter 6 - 6.A Uniform for Three and a Match for One.

The morning at the Arisawa estate began with a quiet tension. I stood before the full-length mirror, adjusting my tie. I was alone in my skin for now—Lightning-Original—but I could feel the others humming just beneath the surface like static on a radio.

"Kenji! The car is ready!" my mother called out, her voice floating up the stairs.

I took a deep breath. Today was the day. No more tests, no more lectures from Aizawa. Today was the day we actually got to be heroes.

The morning classes at UA were surprisingly normal—English with Present Mic was loud, and lunch in the cafeteria with the others was a tactical exercise in avoiding a "Sync-Crash"—but the afternoon was what everyone was waiting for.

Suddenly, the heavy door to Class 1-A didn't just open; it was practically obliterated by a massive presence.

"I AM... COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!"

The classroom erupted. All Might, in his Silver Age costume, marched to the podium, his sheer aura making the air vibrate.

"It's All Might!" Kaminari cheered. "He's really teaching us!"

"Look at that costume!" Kirishima added, grinning. "It's so retro, it's manly!"

All Might struck a pose, his signature grin blinding. "Welcome to the most important class at UA High! Heroics 101! Here, we will build your foundations through various trials! And for our first trial... IN-DOOR ANTI-VILLAIN BATTLE TRAINING!"

He pointed toward the wall, where several numbered briefcases began to slide out. "But to be a hero, you must look like one! Based on the Quirk registries and requests you sent in before school started... YOUR COSTUMES ARE READY!"

At Ground Beta

We emerged from the concrete tunnel of Ground Beta, the sunlight catching the various fabrics and metals of the class.

I walked at the back, split into the Trio. Our costumes were identical yet distinct: charcoal-grey tactical suits with glowing circuitry.

Original (Lightning) had yellow pulsing lines.

Earth had deep brown, reinforced plating.

Wind had blue, aerodynamic fins on his boots.

"Wow, Arisawa! You guys look like a professional spec-ops team!" Mina Ashido chirped, her own pink-and-purple suit looking vibrant.

I looked over at Momo Yaoyorozu, whose red suit was both elegant and practical for her Quirk. She caught my eye and gave a small, confident nod. She looked striking in her hero gear, and for a second, my "adult" brain forgot how to speak. "The suit suits you, Yaoyorozu," Wind-Me said, my voice steady. "Practical and sleek. It fits the tactical leader vibe."

She blinked, a faint pink hue touching her cheeks. "Thank you, Arisawa-san. Your suit... the conductive threading is fascinating.". Then there was Midoriya. He looked... like a green rabbit. It was endearing, yet slightly terrifying.

"NOW then!" All Might shouted, pulling everyone's attention. "It's time for the lots! We shall determine the teams by drawing letters!"

All Might reached into the boxes, his voice booming as he paired the class.

Team A,Kenji Arisawa & Momo Yaoyorozu,(Heroes)

Team B,Shoto Todoroki & Mezo Shoji,(Heroes)

Team C,Minoru Mineta & Tsuyu Asui,(Villains)

Team D,Katsuki Bakugo & Tenya Iida,(Villains)

Team E,Mina Ashido & Yuga Aoyama,(Villains)

Team F,Koji Koda & Mashirao Ojiro,(Heroes)

Team G,Kyoka Jiro & Denki Kaminari,(Villains)

Team H,Izuku Midoriya & Fumikage Tokoyami,(Heroes)

Team I,Toru Hagakure & Hanta Sero,(Villains)

Team J,Eijiro Kirishima & Ochaco Uraraka,(Heroes)

"THE FIRST MATCH! TEAM A AS THE HEROES! TEAM D AS THE VILLAINS!"

Bakugo's head snapped toward me. A savage, jagged grin split his face, his eyes gleaming with a predatory light. "I've been waiting for this, Triple-Faced Freak. I'm going to blast you until there's only one of you left to cry."

I—the Lightning-Original—stepped forward, my sparks crackling in a rhythmic hum. To my left and right, Earth and Wind manifested. Earth cracked his stone-grey knuckles, while Wind hovered an inch off the ground, a playful but sharp breeze whipping around his blue-finned boots.

"Try it, Sparky," I said, my voice overlapping in a triple-layered echo. "I'm not an extra. I'm the whole production."

The Strategy: Five Minutes to Launch

Inside the fifth floor of the concrete skyscraper, Tenya Iida was taking his role with terrifying sincerity. He had cleared the room of all furniture, leaving only the fake nuclear weapon in the center.

"I must embrace the soul of a villain to truly test them!" Iida declared, his hand-chopping movements reaching terminal velocity. "I am... the most despicable man alive! Mwahahaha!"

"Shut up, Four-Eyes," Bakugo spat, leaning against the doorway. He adjusted his massive grenade gauntlets. "I'm going down to the entrance. I don't care about the bomb. I'm going to hunt that Arisawa brat down."

Outside, I turned to Momo Yaoyorozu. She was pale but focused, her hand pressed to her chin as she memorized the building's schematics.

"Bakugo is a wild cannon," I told her. "He'll ignore the objective to satisfy his ego. We split. Wind will take the external vents—he's fast enough to bypass the floors. Earth will stay with you; he's your mobile fortress. And I... I'll be the bait."

Momo nodded, her eyes sharpening. "A three-pronged infiltration. It's risky, but with your coordination, it's our best chance. Let's show them what we can do."

"START!!" All Might's voice boomed.

The second we crossed the threshold, the air exploded. Bakugo didn't wait. He launched himself down the central stairwell, using explosions to propel himself like a human missile.

BOOM!

"FOUND YOU!" Bakugo roared, swinging a massive right hook fueled by a blast.

I flickered. Lightning-Original moved in a zigzag of yellow light, the smell of ozone filling the hallway. I ducked under his swing and planted a palm in his chest, discharging a high-voltage shock. Bakugo skidded back, his teeth bared.

"Fast! But not fast enough!" He launched a barrage of rapid-fire blasts, filling the narrow corridor with smoke and fire.

Meanwhile, Wind-Kenji was a blue streak in the ventilation shafts. He popped a grate on the third floor, spotted Iida's position through the floorboards, and whispered into his comms: "Target located. Fifth floor, North-West corner. Iida's playing 'Evil Overlord' and moving the bomb every thirty seconds."

"Acknowledged," Momo's voice came through. She was moving up the back staircase, Earth-Kenji walking beside her. Suddenly, the floor beneath them buckled—Bakugo had blasted a support pillar from the floor below.

"Look out!" Earth-Me grunted. He slammed his hands into the floor. Granite veins shot through the concrete, freezing the collapse and creating a solid bridge for Momo. "Go, Yaoyorozu! I've got the foundation!"

In the observation room, the rest of the class watched the screens with wide eyes.

"Whoa! Look at Bakugo!" Kirishima exclaimed, his fist hardening in excitement. "He's totally relentless! But Arisawa is just... dodging everything! That's so manly!"

Midoriya was muttering at a mile a minute, his pen a blur in his notebook. "Arisawa-kun isn't just dodging... he's using the static friction from his movements to weaken Bakugo's nitroglycerin sweat! If he keeps this up, Bakugo's explosions will lose their potency!"

"Check out the girls' side," Kaminari pointed out, grinning. "That Earth-guy is like a walking shield. And Momo looks like a general! They're totally dominating the tactical side."

Jiro twirled an earphone jack, her eyes glued to the screen showing Wind-Kenji. "The blue one... his vibrations are weird. He's using sound to map the building. He's a natural scout."

–———————————————————

Back in the hallway, Bakugo was losing his patience. "Stop... TOYING WITH ME!"

He reached for the pin on his gauntlet. "These store my sweat! I've been saving up for a big one!"

"Young Bakugo, stop! You'll kill him!" All Might shouted into the mic.

"HE WON'T DIE IF HE DODGES!" Bakugo pulled the pin.

A gargantuan wall of fire and pressure erupted. The "adult" side of my brain saw the trajectory—if I moved, the blast would travel through the vents and hit Wind-Me and Momo. I couldn't move.

"Sync... Level 2..."

The air in the hallway turned a violent, molten orange. My skin glowed like a furnace. Blaze-Kenji didn't separate; he infused my cells. I reached out and caught the explosion.

"BLAZE: CALAMITY ABSORPTION!"

I compressed the fire into a spinning sun between my palms and punched it straight through the ceiling. The force shattered five floors of concrete in a single vertical pillar of light.

"NOW!"

Upstairs, Wind-Kenji used the sudden vacuum created by the heat to rocket behind Iida. Before the class representative could even activate his engines, Wind-Me had performed a mid-air flip and wrapped his arms around the nuclear weapon.

"THE HERO TEAM... WIIIIINS!!!" All Might's voice cracked with emotion.

Round 2: The Cold Snap

Heroes: Todoroki & Shoji vs. Villains: Ojiro & Hagakure

The class watched as Shoto Todoroki walked into the building alone, telling Shoji to stay back.

"He's arrogant," Bakugo growled from the back of the room, his suit scorched and his pride wounded.

Todoroki simply touched the wall. In an instant, the entire skyscraper was encased in two feet of solid ice. Ojiro and Hagakure were frozen to the floor instantly.

"He's on a whole other level," Sero whispered, shivering just looking at the screen.

Round 3: The Sensory War

Heroes: Midoriya & Tokoyami vs. Villains: Jiro & Kaminari

This was a battle of nerves. Jiro used her jacks to track the heroes' heartbeats. Midoriya, despite his broken finger from the day before, was using Tokoyami's Dark Shadow to scout the shadows.

"Kaminari! Now!" Jiro yelled.

Kaminari released a massive discharge—Indiscriminate Shock!—but he accidentally fried the building's lights. In the pitch black, Tokoyami's Dark Shadow became a towering monster.

"I... I can't control it!" Tokoyami yelled as the shadow beast swiped the bomb from the villains' hands.

"Midoriya's tactical notes saved them," Momo observed, her eyes moving back to me. "He noticed the light sensitivity."

Round 4: The Sticky Situation

Heroes: Kirishima & Uraraka vs. Villains: Mineta & Tsuyu

Kirishima charged in, but Tsuyu used her tongue to swing Mineta across the ceiling. Mineta rained down his purple sticky balls, trapping Kirishima's feet.

"So unmanly!" Kirishima cried, struggling.

Uraraka touched herself to go weightless and floated over the trap, but Tsuyu intercepted her mid-air. It was a chaotic scramble until Kirishima managed to harden his skin enough to "break" the floor beneath the sticky balls.

Round 5: The Sparkling Finish.

Heroes: Koda & Ojiro vs. Villains: Mina & Aoyama

Mina Ashido was the star here, sliding around on acid trails like a pro skater, making her impossible to hit. Aoyama provided "fabulous" covering fire with his Navel Laser.

"My sparkles are blinding!" Aoyama laughed.

Koda finally managed to summon a swarm of pigeons from outside to fly through the windows, distracting the villains long enough for Ojiro to use his tail to secure the bomb.

–———————————————————

As the exercise ended, the class gathered back at the entrance. Everyone was exhausted, but the atmosphere had changed. The "Arisawa-Yaoyorozu" win was the talk of the room.

"Arisawa-kun," Momo said, walking up to me as I merged back into a single, tired form. "That final move... the way you calculated the structural integrity to create a vertical shaft... it was brilliant. But you're exhausted again."

She reached out, steadying me as I swayed. Mina and Tsuyu wandered over, eyes wide.

"You were like a one-man army!" Mina chirped. "And that fire-form? Totally hot!"

I leaned against the wall, a single, weary grin on my face. "Just a typical Tuesday for the Trio. But maybe... maybe I should have let you handle the final blow, Momo. I'm starting to think my brain is leaking out my ears."

"Nonsense," she smiled, her gaze lingering a second too long. "You were the perfect partner."

In the back, Bakugo watched us, his fists clenched so hard they were white. And Midoriya just kept writing. The hierarchy of Class 1-A had been shattered on day one.
