Finn was genuinely surprised by how things were unfolding. He hadn't expected Harald to explode like that, and he definitely hadn't expected Estrid to strike back so fiercely.
Before he could process it fully, a new window appeared in front of him.
[Sub_Script_L002 is starting. Please choose the decision that Harald needs to make.]
[Estrid talked back, calling you a fool, ungrateful, and ignorant. What should you do?]
[Decision_1: There is still a chance for reconciliation. Calm your mind and apologize to her.
Reward: Loki will be born from you and Estrid a few years later. Elbaph gains a future powerhouse. Loki will kill you to save Elbaph 50 years later, and you will be remembered as a legend loved by some. Finn gains 3000 Doriki and beginner-level Observation Haki for helping you choose.]
[Decision_2: "Oh, I'm a fool? Ungrateful? And ignorant? Good, very good. Since you think so, then you should marry a grateful, smart, and wise man instead. Today, I, Harald, hereby declare that from this moment on, we are divorced. I am not a man if I go back on my decision today."
Reward: Loki may not be born from you. Elbaph may lose a future powerhouse. The giants will begin questioning your decisions. Elbaph may be destroyed at your hand or enslaved 50 years later. Estrid's affection for you -40. Finn gains 1500 Doriki and Estrid's affection for Finn +40.]
Finn chose Decision_2 immediately. He wanted to see Harald lose control of the situation.
The moment he made his choice, power flooded into his body once more. He was now roughly as strong as Kaku during the Water 7 arc.
Time resumed.
"Oh, I'm a fool? Ungrateful? And ignorant? Good, very good. Since you think so, then you should marry a grateful, smart, and wise man instead. Today, I, Harald, hereby declare that from this moment on, we are divorced. I am not a man if I go back on my decision today," Harald said with a mocking smile.
"You… Harald, have you lost your mind?" Jarul exploded before Estrid could even speak. "How can you divorce Estrid just like that? What did she even do wrong? It was you who suddenly poured all your anger on her! And we all know why Ida has been discriminated against. Take back your words right now!"
Jorul nodded in agreement. Harald's sudden anger seemed completely unreasonable, and the words he had spoken were far too harsh.
They lived on this island. They knew exactly who had been managing Elbaph all these decades while Harald was out at sea. Calling him ungrateful wasn't entirely wrong.
"Are my words no longer effective?" Harald replied coldly as he sat back on his throne. "Or have your old ears started failing you, Jorul, Jarul? Now that I think about it, you both played a part in stopping me from marrying Ida. Honestly, I detest you more than anyone here. How can former pirates pretend to be wise advisors to their king? Shouldn't you just stay quietly in your houses instead of challenging my authority?"
The room fell deathly silent for the third time. Jarul pointed a trembling finger at Harald in fury, but Jorul quickly stopped him from speaking any further.
'It seems this is what he really thinks about us in his heart,' Jorul thought bitterly.
'I understand now. Seeing Estrid allowed to attend meetings in the palace while Ida is ignored finally made him snap. A fool in love,' Jarul thought, staring at Harald with clear anger.
The other giants in the room were thinking the same thing. Some of them were already eager for this farce to end so they could spread the news to their friends. They knew they wouldn't be able to keep something like this to themselves.
"Are you truly determined to divorce me, Harald?" Estrid asked, her voice steady even as she clenched her fists to hold back the tears threatening to fall.
Time froze again.
[Sub_Script_L003 is starting. Please choose the decision that Harald needs to make.]
[Estrid asked you directly. What should you do? Harald, this is your last chance!]
[Decision_1: "Sigh, I was clouded by anger. Sorry, I put my anger on you. Let's forget what I just said," and kneel at her natal home for two months.
Reward: Loki will be born two decades later after she forgives you. Elbaph gains a future powerhouse. Since what was truly in your heart has now been spoken, your reputation will sadly be affected. There will be no legends about you anymore, only talk of your 'foolish decision.' You will later destroy Elbaph under Imu's commands before Loki grows up. Finn gains 4000 Doriki.]
[Decision_2: "My mind is made. I want to make Ida my queen."
Reward: Loki will not be born from you. Elbaph will lose a future powerhouse. You will lose the respect of the Elbaph giants, or any giant for that matter.
You will later destroy Elbaph under Imu's commands
Estrid's affection -30. Estrid's marriage fate with you will be broken.
Finn gains 2000 Doriki and Estrid's affection for Finn +30.
You gain Loki's hatred for shaming his mother.
Estrid binds with a marriage fate with Finn. Finn gains Loki's family affection.]
Finn chose Decision_2 again without hesitation. Another wave of power surged through him. His Doriki level now matched Rob Lucci's.
Time resumed.
"My mind is made. I want to make Ida my queen," Harald said with a soft smile.
"Good. Very good," Estrid replied, her voice cold. "Then I will never set foot in this broken palace of yours again. In the first place, I hoped to marry the brave Harald, not the mud-headed fool you've become. And just so we're clear, I will not take you back even if you kneel at my house for a century."
"As if I would ever kneel to you," Harald answered with the same mocking smile.
The moment those words left his mouth, Finn's soul was pulled back to his body in Sabaody Archipelago.
["Loki's Birth Event" has ended. Because the host took control of Harald's decisions in Sub_Script_L001, Sub_Script_L002, and Sub_Script_L003, you will bear some of Harald's, Loki's, and Estrid's fates. Two fates will be cast upon you forcefully, while you may choose one fate to reject:]
[1. Siring Loki with Estrid]
[2. Guarding the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Nidhöggr for your son]
[3. Being killed by your son.]
Finn was stunned for a moment, then let out a long sigh. There really was no such thing as a free lunch.
His choice was obvious. He would never allow his own son to kill him. He rejected fate number 3.
As for making love to Estrid and having Loki… honestly, he didn't mind at all. Who would refuse a beautiful giantess? And he was actually eager to see how it would happen.
As for guarding the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Nidhöggr for Loki… Finn never had an appetite for that fruit. It could only show its true might when eaten by an ancient giant, so eating it himself would be meaningless.
[The host chose to reject "Being killed by his son." The Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Nidhöggr has been moved from Aurust Castle's treasure room to the system storage space, where it will wait for Loki's birth. The host and Estrid will be bound with a marriage fate.]
[Please wait patiently for the next event.]
Finn set aside his coffee and newspaper and started testing the new skills he had gained, the Navy Six Styles.
*Moonwalk*
He pushed off the air with strong kicks. Surprisingly, his body lifted off the ground. He kept jumping higher and higher through the empty space until he finally came back down.
*Iron Mass*
His muscles and skin hardened like iron, but his movements froze completely, so he canceled it right away.
*Shave*
He kicked the ground ten times in the blink of an eye and instantly appeared ten meters away from where he had been standing.
*Paper Art*
His body relaxed completely, turning flexible and light like a sheet of paper.
As for Finger Pistol, Tempest Kick, and Six King Gun, he was too lazy to try them right now. Some of those moves might break things inside the bar anyway.
He decided to leave them for later. What he needed now was sleep.
