Inky black chakra surged from the meridians in his palm, swirling into a rotating sphere that looked like a ball of squid ink.
"The power isn't great, and a Rasengan formed with this chakra doesn't possess an instant sealing effect," Ren mused, staring at the pitch-black sphere.
He abandoned the Rasengan approach and quickly wove a series of hand signs, casting a different technique.
Sealing Jutsu: One-Layer Light Formation!
He pressed his palm against the deck. Intricate formula scripts rapidly expanded, and from the center of the seal, a semi-circular black bubble the size of a basketball pulsed outward.
This basic sealing art was designed to restrict the movement of anyone standing at the center. Conversely, if applied in reverse by projecting the binding runes outward, it could form a thin, brittle defensive barrier.
Ren pulled a kunai from his tool pouch and slammed it into the bubble with full force. Surprisingly, the heavy strike was deflected smoothly.
He then wove the 'Tiger' sign, coating the kunai blade in flames before stabbing again.

The One-Layer Light Formation shattered.
"As I thought, this chakra needs to be channeled through sealing techniques to truly shine."
"A barrier cast with Eight-Tails-natured chakra possesses defensive power nearly equal to a Three-Direction Seal. And a Three-Direction Seal cast with this chakra..."
Ren's eyes flew open, veins bulging around his temples. He first used the Cross-Clone sign to create two shadow clones, ordering them to manifest a black Three-Direction Seal.
Then, he raised a single hand, aligning four fingers. A frantic, screeching storm of lightning erupted over his palm.
Hell Stab: Four-Finger Spear Hand!
Swish!
The spear hand sliced into the Three-Direction Seal, but for a moment, it couldn't cut through the barrier! Ren immediately tucked his pinky in, striking again with the Three-Finger Spear Hand.
Sizzle— Crack!
Bang! Bang!
The lightning-clad palm bored into the seal, sending sparks flying everywhere. It took nearly five seconds to pierce the barrier, causing it to explode and dispelling the two shadow clones in a cloud of smoke.
"Excellent!"
Ren was delighted. What the shadow clones had just performed wasn't a standard seal—it was a version infused with Sage Chakra.
Sage Art: Three-Direction Seal!
It had transformed a barrier that normally couldn't even restrict the Third Raikage's basic Lightning Style Armor into a defense that required the Three-Finger Spear Hand to breach.
But that wasn't the key. The key was the mechanics behind it.
Normally, the Three-Direction Seal cannot be "Sage-ified." Sages usually apply natural energy to increase the power or scale of a technique—like Jiraiya's Goeymon or Hashirama's Deity Gates. The reason this seal's defensive power had evolved so drastically was that the Eight-Tails-natured chakra acted as a perfect stabilizer for natural energy. It neutralized the volatility, allowing a "Sage Seal" that should have been impossible to manifest.
It was similar to how Kurama, after reconciling with Naruto in the late stages of the Fourth War, could use shadow clones to help Naruto gather natural energy. Tailed Beasts naturally possessed the capacity to absorb and store natural energy.
Ren didn't have a Tailed Beast, but he had something even better suited for storage: Eight-Tails-natured chakra with innate sealing properties.
And that was the answer he was looking for.
"If I use the Eight-Tails' chakra to construct a seal similar to the Strength of a Hundred Seal—one capable of storing natural energy—I can extend the duration of my Sage Form and the combat sustainability of my Sage Transformation!"

Ren went silent for a moment, pulling out the scroll with the snake pattern. Inside was the Eight-Tails' horn.
"I have half an Eight-Tails' worth of chakra to waste, the perfect chakra nature to match it, and the sealing jutsu passed down through my own clan."
He summoned a small white snake, which spat out a specialized scroll bearing the Uchiha crest. On it were six bold characters:

In the future, Obito Uchiha would use this barrier technique to transform his chakra into fire, connecting it to the underworld flames within the earth to create a massive barrier of purgatory. It was a B-rank sealing jutsu capable of withstanding Tailed Beast-level attacks, turning anyone who touched it to ash.
Obito had used it to protect the Ten-Tails; the Eight-Tails' attacks had hit the barrier like a mere itch.
Usually, this technique required tapping into the "underworld flames" of the earth to form its defensive wall. Ren was currently at sea, and finding an active volcano was out of the question.
However... Ren's own burning heart in Fire Release: Chakra Mode, combined with the Blaze Release granted by the Two-Tails' chakra... should be far more potent than any volcano.
