Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 Fallen Angel, You're Dead!

Hum!

The crimson magic circle slowly faded.

Kurome's appearance hadn't changed much, but she now radiated a sinister aura.

Her Devil tail and wings had also naturally unfurled.

"So this is... a Devil's power?"

Kurome blinked, a look of joy on her face.

Because she felt that her dependence on drugs had vanished completely.

"Nn..."

Kurome's pupils contracted, her eyelashes trembling slightly. Her legs went weak, and she knelt on the ground.

She instinctively looked down and saw that her tail was now held in Ayato's hand.

"Devil-sama!"

"Oh, shouldn't the address change a little?"

Ayato smiled and gently squeezed his hand.

"Mmm..."

Kurome felt her entire body heat up. She had to brace herself with her hands on the floor, her posture completely changed.

Her round chest bounced slightly.

"Master!"

Almost instinctively, Kurome changed her address.

Stare...

Akame's eyes narrowed, a faint blush appearing on her face.

'Kurome…'

'Was she like this?'

'Though it was good that Kurome could become the Master's servant too,'

'Why did this feeling feel strange?'

Akame thought this.

On the other side,

Mine's eyes grew wider and wider, her face as red as an apple.

'H-How shameless.'

'This Devil...'

'Was definitely a huge pervert.'

'And Kurome...'

'She'd never shown this side before.'

"Kurome looks like she's in pain."

Sheele blinked.

But for some reason, her own body felt hot.

She wondered what was happening to her.

Unconsciously, Leone's drunken ramblings surfaced in her mind.

"Have you two seen enough?"

Ayato, who had noticed them long ago, waved his hand. "How about it? Any interest in becoming my servants?"

He had a strong interest in collecting them all.

Counting these two, Night Raid would be almost complete.

"Pervert, dream on."

Mine refused directly. "I... I won't let you have your way."

"Is that so? What a pity."

Looking at Mine's flushed face, Ayato found it amusing.

He was about to tease her further when his expression tightened slightly.

"Kurome, have Akame help you get used to your Devil powers first."

Leaving those words, a magic circle appeared beneath Ayato's feet, and he vanished in an instant.

...

Slightly earlier,

Kuoh Academy, Occult Research Club.

It was a holiday, but the club room was quite lively.

"Do you have some business?"

Looking at her visitors, Rias looked puzzled.

On one side was Sona, on the other were the two Church warriors.

These two groups arriving at the same time seemed strange no matter how she thought about it.

Not just Rias,

Xenovia, Irina, and Sona also looked at each other, expressions equally surprised.

After a moment, Sona frowned and said, "One of my servants was captured. Someone told me to come here."

Irina added, "We sensed Kokabiel's presence here."

"Someone lured you both here at the same time?"

Rias's expression changed, and she suddenly stood up. "This is bad. We're being targeted."

As her words fell, a mocking voice rang out.

"Not too stupid. You realized that quickly?"

The voice echoed for a long time, like thunder shaking the sky.

An indescribable pressure instantly descended.

For a moment, Rias and the others all changed expression.

Nevertheless, everyone endured the discomfort and rushed out of the old school building.

Outside!

Beneath the blue sky, a man in a black robe floated in midair.

The pitch-black wings unfurled behind him radiated strong malevolence.

Five pairs of wings marked his status.

Fallen Angel Cadre, Kokabiel.

"You must be Kokabiel."

Rias stepped forward, staring intently at Kokabiel. "What exactly do you want? Are you truly trying to start a war among the Three Factions?"

"Why ask when you already know the answer?"

Kokabiel smiled. "Isn't it obvious?"

He sighed, looking at Rias and Sona. "I thought stealing the sacred sword would make the Angels come personally, but only two Holy Sword wielders showed up."

"I had no choice but to set my sights on you instead."

Irina demanded, "What do you mean?"

"Simple."

Kokabiel grinned sinisterly. "Though there aren't many Devils here, there are the sisters of two Great Satans. If you die, those two will surely go mad, won't they?"

"You're insane."

Sona gritted her teeth. "What good does this do you?"

"Good?"

Kokabiel raised an eyebrow, then spread his arms wide and laughed maniacally.

"War!"

"I love war!"

"Any war... I love them all! As long as war breaks out, it brings me the greatest pleasure!"

Looking at the deranged Kokabiel, everyone couldn't help but feel a chill run down their spines.

What's scarier than a ten-winged Fallen Angel?

A Fallen Angel Cadre who is also a complete and utter madman.

Hum!

Just then, with a tremor of the void, a brilliant light bloomed in Kokabiel's hand.

In an instant,

A spear of light, a full yard long, appeared in his grasp.

"Come now, consider it an honor to be the sacrifices before a grand war."

The moment his words fell, the spear of light tore through the air and fell like a meteor, carrying immense surging power.

"..."

Feeling this power, Irina and Xenovia's eyes widened.

'The Church had sent the two of us to hunt a monster like this?'

'Was this a joke?'

"Rias!"

"Sona!"

At that moment, Rias and Sona exchanged a glance, their magic power surging simultaneously.

Instantly,

Two massive lights shot up from the old school building and the student council area.

A magic circle rotated in the sky, protecting the entire Kuoh Academy.

Boom!

The spear of light struck the magic circle, causing an earth-shattering explosion.

A terrifying wave of force and smoke rose like a giant mushroom cloud.

The entire magic circle trembled violently but managed to block that spear of light.

"A magic barrier?"

Kokabiel's eyes flickered slightly, but he wasn't surprised.

Important figures from two great Devil noble houses, Gremory and Sitri, were in this academy.

It would be stranger if there weren't some protective measures.

He observed for a moment, then sneered. "But even so, you think this can stop me?"

As his words fell, one spear of light after another materialized and rained down on the magic circle, making the entire Kuoh Academy tremble.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The deafening roar echoed through the sky for a long time.

"Not good. The magic barrier won't last much longer."

Sona bit her lip slightly, worry in her eyes.

Rias said calmly, "I've already sent for help. All we can do is buy time."

At this point, that was all they could do.

After all, Kokabiel was a being who had clashed with Satans and survived.

Even if they all fought together, they would likely be slaughtered by him in a very short time.

"Hahaha! War! I want war!"

Kokabiel's face twisted with madness as he roared wildly, pouring out his power.

As time passed, cracks began to appear on the magic barrier.

"Break!"

With a great shout, a spear of light larger than any before came crashing down.

Boom!

The whole world shook violently.

The brilliant magic barrier wavered, finally unable to withstand any longer, and shattered completely, disappearing into specks of light.

"Now, struggle all you want."

Kokabiel's gaze swept over each face, a cruel smile on his lips. "Not that I think it will change the outcome."

As his voice echoed, another spear of light materialized in his hand.

"Fight!"

Rias stepped forward, her crimson hair streaming.

The others said nothing.

But their auras surged, determination on every face.

Just then, the magic circle at Ayato's house flickered. Having just returned from the other world, Ayato looked toward Kuoh Academy.

"Fallen Angel, you're dead."

Ayato's voice was ice-cold.

Origin Lightning Magic activated instantly. A golden flash shot through the void and vanished.
