North Wind Star Domain
On the tenth day since the Zerg Disaster occurred, although the North Wind Star Domain was still under attack from the Zerg Disaster, compared to the initial chaotic, panicked, and terrified environment, most of the disorder had now been brought under control.
"Over the past 24 hours, no new Cosmic Zerg Nests have appeared, and all previously existing Cosmic Zerg Nests have vanished. Experts studying the Interstellar Zerg are closely monitoring the spatial fluctuations in the North Wind Star Domain. According to predictions from the expert panel, the reason for this intensive emergence of Cosmic Zerg Nests remains unknown, but it should have ended, and no new Cosmic Zerg Nests are expected to appear," an Adjutant reported to the Governor of the North Wind on the current situation.
The Governor of the North Wind inquired, "What is the current state of affairs?"
"Currently, our North Wind Star Domain has mobilized over ten thousand lord fleet ships and three thousand interstellar warships from the North Wind Interstellar Corps to participate in this Rescue Operation. Additionally, the Imperial Army's Twelfth, Nineteenth, and Twenty-Second Corps, totaling nearly ten thousand Imperial Army interstellar warships, have fully entered the affected star systems in the North Wind Star Domain. After ten days of emergency measures, the chaos has been largely contained. The situation in the affected star systems can be divided into three levels," the Adjutant explained, pulling up the entire Star Map of the North Wind Star Domain.
On the Star Map, numerous star systems were color-coded into four categories. The majority were white, indicating no Zerg attacks. Next were green areas, representing regions where Cosmic Zerg Nests had appeared but were now under control, with only a small number of Zerg remaining. Then came yellow areas, signifying regions where a certain number of Hive Fleets still existed, and some planets might still be under threat or invasion. Among these, the least common were red areas, with two star systems marked in red. Red areas indicated the presence of Hive Fleets led by T3 Nest Motherships, with the number of Hive Fleet ships exceeding one thousand, and multiple inhabited planets had been invaded and occupied.
"The two star systems in the red areas are being handled by the Imperial Army's Twelfth and Twenty-Second Corps, respectively. Currently, the Hive Fleets are being contained within a specific region, and a suppression operation lasting up to half a month is underway," the Adjutant stated.
"What about the planets within these two regions?" the Governor of the North Wind asked, frowning.
"Those planets... can only be abandoned," the Adjutant replied.
The Governor of the North Wind sighed deeply, knowing this was the best course of action. After ten days... most of the civilians on those planets who had not been evacuated in time had likely become food for the Zerg.
"Has there been any assessment of our losses so far?" the Governor of the North Wind rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"So far, this disaster has resulted in the direct deaths of nearly twenty billion people and the displacement of over fifty billion. Additionally, more than one hundred thousand civilian auxiliary interstellar warships of various levels have been lost, and over five thousand combat-type interstellar warships have been destroyed in engagements with the Zerg. This includes thirteen T3-class starships and nearly five hundred T2-class Interstellar Warships. The estimated number of combat personnel sacrificed is around eight hundred thousand..." the Adjutant reported a series of staggering figures.
Governor of the North Wind clutched his chest. The losses inflicted on the North Wind Star Domain by this disaster were truly immense—it could be said that the comprehensive strength of the North Wind Star Domain had been set back by a decade!
After all, incidents of large-scale Cosmic Zerg Nests suddenly appearing within a star domain were extremely rare even within the Galactic Alliance!
And this was under the condition that the Governor of the North Wind had acted promptly. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been just a few star systems that fell, but possibly the entire star domain, with sacrifices numbering in the hundreds of millions!
"Also... there's one more piece of news that just came in... you might find it quite interesting," the Adjutant suddenly recalled a report he had just received.
"What is it?" asked the Governor of the North Wind.
The Adjutant pulled up a piece of intelligence: "It's about the Sapphire Star System.
Originally, the threat level of the Sapphire Star System was also within the red zone.
But within just one week, over 50% of the Hive Motherships in the Sapphire Star System were destroyed, and 1.5 billion people were successfully and safely evacuated from the Third Planet, which constitutes its main population.
Additionally, nearly 500 million people were evacuated from other planets.
The remaining Hive Fleet in that star system is also largely under our control now; it's only a matter of time before they are eliminated."
"Which Imperial Fleet did this?" the Governor of the North Wind asked with interest.
"It wasn't an Imperial Fleet. It was the Fierce Dragon Fleet from the Fierce Dragon Star System!" The Adjutant's expression turned somewhat peculiar as he said this.
"The Fierce Dragon Fleet?" Hearing this name, the Governor of the North Wind thought of his grandson-in-law, whom he had met only once but who was quite talented.
He knew that the Fierce Dragon Fleet had voluntarily come to assist this time, but due to the overwhelming workload recently, he hadn't had the chance to pay attention to this grandson-in-law of his.
Yet, in such a short time, he had managed to deliver such a huge 'surprise.'
"So, you're saying he single-handedly resolved the crisis of an entire star system with just his own fleet! Directly saving nearly two billion people!" the Governor of the North Wind exclaimed in astonishment.
"Yes."
"How many starships does he have?"
"Over a hundred, less than 150 combat-type interstellar warships. But there are nearly 30 T3 interstellar warships, including rumors of a T3 heavy carrier starship with a golden 'Chu' character emblem," the Adjutant replied.
The Governor of the North Wind frowned. "That doesn't make sense. Even though he has combat-type interstellar warships, how did he manage to transport nearly two billion people for evacuation? Where did he get so many interstellar transport ships?
The Chu Family's T3 medium carrier starship? I haven't heard that old man developing such a carrier starship..."
Mentioning this, the Adjutant's expression grew even more peculiar.
He said, "Actually, there's another minor matter related to this.
During this period, one Count, five Viscounts, twenty-two Barons, hundreds of nobles, and even generals from the Imperial Army have filed complaints against Lord of Fierce Dragon Zhao Chen.
But since you were very busy earlier, I temporarily set them aside and didn't report them to you."
"Complaints against Zhao Chen? Why? Based on what you just described, he's the great hero of the North Wind Star Domain this time!" the Governor of the North Wind exclaimed in surprise.
"You just asked where Lord of Fierce Dragon got so many interstellar transport ships, right?" The Adjutant's expression turned even more peculiar. "Guess how he got them?"
Governor of the North Wind connected these two pieces of information and immediately understood, "Could it be that this kid snatched them?"
The adjutant nodded, smiling bitterly as he said, "Yes, previously he had arranged for his T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruisers to hunt T3 Hive Motherships across various star systems in Zerg battlefields.
Later, when these T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruisers returned to rendezvous with the Fierce Dragon Fleet, they 'borrowed' a batch of interstellar transport ships 'along the way.'
There is even video footage and audio recordings captured by those involved.
For interstellar fleets that did not cooperate, Zhao Chen's starships directly threatened them with bombardment.
According to statistics, at least six interstellar transport ships were attacked and destroyed by Zhao Chen's T3 Blizzards. Reports from those involved claim over a thousand casualties... but this figure is unreliable based on video evidence.
The T3 Blizzards issued warnings before attacking, and the targeted sections of the ship hulls were not manned compartments, so the number of casualties would not exceed fifty, possibly even fewer."
"This kid has quite the nerve..." Governor of the North Wind chuckled with a hint of reproach.
However, the adjutant could tell from his tone that the Governor of the North Wind held no intention of reprimanding him.
