Chapter 11 - move with Grace

[The old man watched you for a while, his eyes flickering with hesitation before he decided not to focus on you. Your talent wasn't the best he had seen, and despite you cultivating fast with the low-grade cultivation technique, you were not enough to impress him.]

[You didn't know what thoughts the old man had and continued cultivating, trying to increase your strength, causing eight months to pass in this way.]

[During this time you had already condensed more than thirty clones, and your speed had long surpassed that of a renowned genius, causing the old man to be stupefied, understanding that you probably had a unique physique or some great talent.]

[Year 7: Your parents had grown used to the fact that you were always sleeping for most of the day, however, they were still worried that one day you would sleep and not wake up. You weren't bothered about their thoughts and only wanted to increase your strength continuously.]

Adam's mouth twitched at the line of words. 'This my simulated self is truly taking this talent to the extreme.'

He couldn't imagine how much sleep one would have in a day that would lead their parents to even begin thinking they would die in their sleep.

After musing for a few seconds, Adam continued reading the messages from the system.

[That day after cultivating, your eyes brimmed with confidence the moment you opened them. After a month of arduous efforts, you had finally reached the first stage of the Foundation Establishment realm. You stretched your small limbs and decided to explore the wild forest.]

[Over the years, because you slept or cultivated, you were also able to minimize your energy loss due to the little food you were eating. Upon heading out, you instantly tore the head off a lion and, with a slap, killed a wild deer.]

[You were amazed at the strength of cultivators and continued exploring the forest, killing many beasts and eating to your fill, while leaving some purposely for the villagers to find. Along the way, you also realized a flaw with your simulation — the fact that you didn't have any fighting technique.]

[You were slightly discouraged, but at the thought that when you cultivated enough you would head into the outside world, you didn't despair. Later that day a few villagers brought back the meat you left for them, their hearts filled with suspicions. The old man from the library looked at all this through the window, a knowing look flashing in his eyes.]

'Damn! This old man is definitely scheming something!' Adam couldn't help but feel slightly nervous for his simulated self.

From the behavior of the old man and the way the system described him, he could tell that the old man definitely had a plan in mind, and he briefly felt that it wouldn't be good for him in the least bit.

Adam sighed helplessly and could only continue reading the line of words on the luminescent screen as the shower dripped on him, immersing himself in the feeling of the simulation.

[Year 8: With a year passing, you were already at the fifth stage of the Foundation Establishment. Although the progress seemed slow, you knew that to be able to cultivate so fast without any resources was extraordinary in its own right, and even the old man would support you in that thought.]

[The village had become relatively harmonious, with the villagers enjoying the meals every day, having bountiful food to eat. According to them, the gods had sent an angel to continuously slay the beasts in the forest so they wouldn't starve.]

[With the increase in your strength, you already had thoughts of going deeper into the forest. You felt a great secret lay beyond there, as one time when you headed there, you sensed stronger beasts lurking and even ones that seemed to possess cultivation. For a moment, you had the thought that the cultivators in this village were prisoners.]

Sighs…

Adam let out a breath, calming himself from the information of the simulation.

'A great secret beyond the boundaries of the forest? And aside from that, the thought of this village being a prison doesn't seem far-fetched. For all I know, the old man could be the guard keeper… if that's the case, why would he let me cultivate?'

There were many secrets involved in this simulation, and Adam was curious to explore them all! His eyes moved to the blue panel, and he continued reading.

[That day after some preparation, you finally departed from the village. The old man watched you through the window, guessing what you planned to do, and the moment you entered into the forest, his figure vanished and he followed you.]

[Unaware that you were being followed, you didn't hide your full strength, killing every beast you encountered and causing the old man's eyes to keep on widening.]

[You walked for a long while and even met beasts at the Qi Condensation realm. Based on how they behaved, you could tell they were protecting something, or… someone? With your curiosity piqued, you slaughtered the beasts continuously, causing rivers of blood to flow freely in the forest.]

[The remaining beasts trembled at your savagery and bloodlust and didn't dare come near you. Suddenly the ground quaked and caved in, then a creature stepped out, causing your gaze to sharpen. This was the first time you would be encountering a Foundation Establishment realm creature.]

[Luckily the creature wasn't too strong, so despite having no fighting techniques, you were able to defeat it. With its death, you pushed on, hoping to see what the beasts were protecting and if there was a way to leave the village and head to a bigger place.]

[To your surprise, as you moved, you noticed that the number of beasts decreased drastically with time. You were dumbfounded, expecting them to fight with their lives on the line since you were closer to their secret. Finally, you reached what it was and you were startled to find out.]

[Your eyes widened, and you showed a horrified expression as though you had discovered a great secret. However, at that moment the old man appeared behind you and sent a hand flying towards your head, knocking you out.]

[He chuckled darkly, truly not expecting your strength to reach such a level. He decided to take you in as his disciple and harvest your secrets for himself. Glancing towards the great secret he was hiding, he chuckled darkly once more and headed back to the village with you on his back.]

'F*ck

"I f*cking knew that the old man was up to no good!" Adam was speechless.
