Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 – The Boy Who Opened the Door Like a Cannonball

Uncle Vernon froze mid-step.

The reason was simple. The boy standing in front of him had raised a slender wooden wand and pointed it directly at his chest.

For a second, silence filled the hut except for the storm raging outside.

Then Vernon burst into mocking laughter. "Hah! What's that supposed to be? A toothpick? Planning to clean my teeth with it?"

But beside him, Aunt Petunia's face had already gone deathly pale. She stumbled backwards and grabbed Vernon's sleeve with trembling hands.

"No, Vernon! Get back! He's one of them!"

"What?" Vernon barked, instantly raising his rifle again.

The muzzle pointed straight at Lucas.

Lucas merely glanced at the gun with cold indifference before lazily flicking his wand.

The rifle instantly twisted and shrank in Vernon's hands. Metal became scales. Wood became flesh.

A long, slippery snake suddenly wrapped itself around Vernon's arm.

"AAAAH!"

Vernon screamed in terror and hurled the snake across the room. He staggered backwards so hard he nearly fell over the table before hiding behind Petunia with a white, shaking face.

Lucas lowered his wand slightly. "I'd suggest staying quiet," he said calmly. "Otherwise I'll turn the lot of you into rats."

The Dursleys immediately went silent.

Petunia clutched Dudley tightly while Vernon trembled in the corner, his legs shaking so hard they looked ready to collapse beneath him.

Only Harry remained standing there in stunned silence.

Lucas turned towards him and smiled faintly.

"Happy birthday, Mr Potter."

Harry blinked several times before answering awkwardly, "Oh… thanks."

At first, Harry had been frightened too. But the boy in front of him looked about the same age as he was, and unlike the Dursleys, he didn't seem cruel or dangerous. The fear faded surprisingly quickly.

Lucas glanced towards the ruined doorway and sighed softly.

"Honestly, blasting doors apart with brute force is still too messy. Alohomora is definitely the more elegant option."

He raised his wand again.

"Reparo."

Harry's eyes widened instantly.

The shattered wooden door trembled violently. Splintered planks and broken hinges lifted from the floor and flew backwards through the air like a reversed film reel. Piece by piece, the broken door restored itself until it looked completely untouched.

Harry stared at it with his mouth hanging open.

Lucas stepped forward and extended his hand.

"Hello, Harry Potter. My name's Lucas Summers."

Harry quickly shook his hand. "Er… how do you know who I am?"

Lucas chuckled softly. "In the wizarding world, even toddlers know your name."

"The wizarding world?"

Harry looked completely confused.

Lucas sighed inwardly. The Dursleys really had hidden absolutely everything from him.

He slowly turned towards Vernon and Petunia.

"So you never told him anything? Not even the basics?"

"Sh-Shut up!" Vernon roared with forced courage, though his voice still shook badly. "I won't let you fill his head with your nonsense!"

Lucas raised his wand again.

"Petrificus Totalus."

The curse flashed through the air.

The Dursleys instantly locked stiff like statues. Vernon froze mid-roar, Petunia remained trapped with her mouth open, and Dudley toppled sideways onto the sofa without being able to move a muscle.

Harry jumped in shock.

Lucas casually pocketed his wand. "Much quieter."

Then he turned back towards Harry with a gentler expression.

"Mind if I call you Harry?"

Harry swallowed nervously. "No… I don't mind."

Right now, his head was overflowing with questions. Every strange thing that had ever happened in his life suddenly felt connected somehow.

Lucas smiled and gestured towards the middle of the hut.

"Let's sit down first. Easier to explain things with food."

He waved his wand once.

The rain-soaked clothes covering his body instantly became warm and dry.

Then he flicked the wand again.

Several loose rocks on the floor transformed smoothly into two comfortable armchairs and a small wooden tea table. Harry stared so hard his eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"Oh, right. I almost forgot your present."

A silver ring on Lucas's finger flashed faintly.

A large birthday cake suddenly appeared on the table.

Harry nearly stopped breathing.

"No way…"

"Bought it on the way here," Lucas said casually. "Didn't have time to write your name on it, though."

With another flick of his wand, flames roared to life inside the cold fireplace. Warm orange light immediately filled the dark hut, driving away some of the storm's gloom.

Lucas poured a cup of hot black tea for Harry before sitting opposite him.

Then he finally began.

"Harry… you're a wizard."

Harry blinked rapidly. "A what?"

"A wizard," Lucas repeated patiently. "And before you ask, yes, your aunt and uncle apparently decided not to tell you anything. So let's do this properly."

He leaned back slightly in his chair.

"I'll explain everything from the beginning. Just listen for now. Once I'm done, you can ask whatever you want."

Harry nodded blankly.

Lucas sliced the cake and handed him a piece.

"Eat while you listen. This may take a bit."

Outside, thunder continued rumbling over the sea while rain battered the windows. But inside the hut, the fire crackled warmly as Lucas calmly explained the hidden world Harry had never known existed.

"Before you were born, there was a very dangerous Dark wizard named Voldemort. Personally, I prefer calling him Voldy-Pants, but most people take him a bit more seriously than I do."

Harry almost laughed despite himself.

"He and his followers hurt a lot of people. Your parents were among the people who fought against him. Alongside many other good witches and wizards, they resisted Voldemort for years."

Lucas spoke quickly, but every word remained perfectly clear.

He explained how James and Lily Potter had opposed Voldemort. He explained the war, the fear, and the countless people who had died. Then he described the night Voldemort attacked Harry's home.

"Your parents died protecting you," Lucas said quietly. "But for some reason nobody fully understands, Voldemort's Killing Curse rebounded when he tried to murder you."

Harry unconsciously touched the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.

"The curse destroyed his body instead. That's why you became famous."

Lucas then explained how baby Harry had been left with the Dursleys.

Finally, he reached into his ring again and pulled out an envelope.

Harry's breathing stopped the instant he saw it.

It was addressed to him.

Mr Harry PotterThe Hut-on-the-RockThe Sea

"That…" Harry whispered.

Lucas handed it over with a smile. "Your Hogwarts letter. The thing your relatives have been desperately trying to hide from you."

Harry carefully opened it with trembling hands.

Lucas continued speaking while Harry read.

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Best magical school in Britain. Very old castle. Moving staircases. Ghosts. Terrible food on certain days. Fairly high risk of death depending on the year."

Harry looked up sharply.

Lucas grinned. "Relax. Mostly joking."

Mostly.

Then he began explaining Hogwarts itself. The four Houses. The professors. Magic classes. Quidditch. Even Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

By the time he finished, Harry looked completely dazed.

"So… everyone knows my name because I defeated Voldemort?"

Lucas nodded. "Pretty much."

"But I don't remember anything…"

As Harry spoke, a flash of green light suddenly exploded through his mind.

A cold, cruel laugh echoed faintly in his ears.

Harry winced and grabbed his scar.

Lucas noticed immediately but didn't comment.

After a moment, Harry looked back up uncertainly.

"If I'm really a wizard… why was Dudley always able to beat me up?"

Lucas snorted softly. "Because magic isn't automatic. No wizard is born knowing how to use it."

Then he leaned forwards slightly.

"But think carefully. Haven't strange things happened around you before? Things you couldn't explain?"

Harry froze.

Lucas continued calmly.

"Like your hair growing back overnight after getting cut."

Harry's eyes widened instantly.

"Or accidentally ending up on the school roof somehow."

Harry nearly fell out of his chair.

"You knew about that?!"

Lucas grinned. "Trust me, accidental magic from young wizards happens all the time."

Harry suddenly felt as though countless mysteries from his life were finally starting to make sense.

"No little wizard starts with control," Lucas explained. "That's why Hogwarts exists. You'll learn spells, potions, magical creatures, everything."

He raised his wand slightly and added with a smirk, "Including all the things I've been showing off tonight."

Finally, Lucas lifted his wand again and released the Full Body-Bind Curse on the Dursleys.

The instant Vernon could move, he exploded into furious shouting.

"I'm not paying for him to go to some freak school and learn tricks from a bunch of lunatics!"

Lucas's smile vanished.

Slowly, he raised his left hand.

An invisible force suddenly wrapped around Vernon's throat.

Vernon's entire body lifted into the air.

His eyes bulged in horror as he clawed desperately at his neck while kicking wildly above the floor.

Petunia screamed and rushed forwards, grabbing onto Vernon's legs in panic.

Lucas's voice turned ice-cold.

"Still think it's just tricks?"

Vernon's face turned purple within seconds.

Then Lucas released him.

Vernon crashed heavily onto the floor and immediately began gasping for breath like a dying fish.

Lucas looked down at him calmly.

"You cannot stop Harry from attending Hogwarts," he said quietly. "Honestly, accepting reality would be healthier for all of you."

"For our good?!" Petunia shrieked hysterically. "That's ridiculous!"

Lucas tilted his head slightly.

"You don't believe me?" He smiled faintly. "Fine then. Perhaps I should tell you about something called an Obscurus."
