Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: New Beginnings

That night was quiet, only the sound of the rain falling outside the window could be heard louder than usual.

Vivian sat in the living room, still in the same clothes since the evening. Her hair was still a little wet. Her eyes were empty, but her mind never stopped.

Everything happened too fast.

Yesterday she was still a CEO.

Today, she was a nobody.

"Well…"

Her voice was low, almost drowned in the sound of the rain.

Well who was in the kitchen paused for a moment before walking towards her.

She sat next to Vivian, not too close, but enough to make her presence felt.

"Something is wrong."

Vivian looked ahead, not at her.

Well frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Vivian took a slow breath.

"That leak… was too accurate."

Finally she turned. Their eyes met.

"Not just knowing we were married. But knowing the timing… knowing the meeting… knowing everything."

A moment of silence.

And in that silence

Well understood.

"That's an insider."

The sentence came out slowly but was enough to change everything. "Okay, I know what you mean. Come on, you go take a shower first. We'll investigate tomorrow.""Okay, honey."Vivian smiled.

The next few days were filled with something they never expected.

They began to investigate.

Not officially, not through the company but quietly.

Well used his contacts.

Vivian used her memory.

Every conversation, change in attitude and every little thing they had previously ignored.

Now everything became a clue.

And one name began to appear again and again: Daniel.

One of the board members who had been the most vocal against Vivian from the beginning.

The one who was the quickest to blame.

And the calmest when everything collapsed.

"He was too prepared."

Vivian spoke softly as she looked at the laptop screen.

"As if he knew all this would happen."

Well stood behind her, his arms crossed.

"It wasn't as if."

His tone was cold.

"He did know."

Silence.

And this time there was no more doubt.

That night, they made a decision.

Not to run but to fight.

A few days later, another news story began to spread.

But this time it wasn't about Vivian.

The headlines changed direction.

"Board Member Involved in Insider Leak?"

"Evidence of Suspicious Transactions Revealed"

Daniel's name was now in the place that had once destroyed Vivian.

Amidst the attention, under pressure, in the investigation and in a quiet cafe, Vivian and Well sat facing each other.

The phone on the table displayed the news that was going viral.

Vivian stared at the screen for a long time.

No smile.

No clear satisfaction.

Just a feeling of release.

"Well…"

She finally spoke.

"This is enough."

Well looked at her.

"Are you sure?"

Vivian nodded slowly.

"I don't want to be like him."

The sentence was honest but heavy.

Well took a deep breath before nodding.

"Okay, I understand."

No protests and no pressure.

A few weeks later everything began to calm down.

Daniel's case was still ongoing, but Vivian's name slowly disappeared from the public spotlight.

The media began to look for other stories.

The world continued to move on as if nothing had happened.

One quiet morning, Vivian stood on the balcony of a small house overlooking the sea.

The morning breeze gently blew her hair.

No more incessant notification sounds, no more pressure and no more titles.

Just her and her new life.

Well appeared behind her, carrying two cups of coffee.

He handed one to Vivian.

"Still not used to it?" she asked lightly.

Vivian smiled slightly.

"A little."

She looked out to the sea.

"Quiet... but calm."

Well stood next to her.

Saying nothing but holding Vivian's hand as always.

"Are you sorry?"

The question came out without warning.

Well turned around.

"Regret what?"

Vivian lowered her head slightly.

"All of this. Losing our jobs, reputations, and our old lives."

A moment of silence.

Then Well shook his head slowly.

"No."

The answer was simple and certain.

"Because I didn't lose you."

Vivian looked at him.

And for once

The tears that fell weren't because of pain.

But because of something softer and warmer.

The days that followed were no longer filled with drama.

They learned to live again.

Slowly, without rushing.

Sometimes they just sat together without talking.

Sometimes they laughed over small things.

And for the first time in a long time, they lived instead of just surviving.

One evening, as the sun began to set, Vivian leaned on Well's shoulder.

"Thank you," she said softly.

Well didn't ask why.

She just smiled a little and hugged Vivian's waist.

Tightly, as if promising that whatever came next, they would face it together.

In the sky, the orange color slowly turned dark.

But this time there is no fear.

Because they know that even though they have fallen, they have also risen. This time only two people

choose to continue living together and start a new life.

What will happen next?
