Days passed in a blink of an eye and this was the 5th day.
Well woke up that morning with mixed feelings.
Yesterday everything changed.
The secret he never knew was finally revealed. Vivian didn't leave him because Vivian no longer cared but because she was sick.
And that hurt more than he imagined.
Well gently stroked his face before getting out of bed. His mind was still heavy, but his heart was a little lighter.
At least now, he knew why.
And maybe there was still a chance.
The office that day seemed busy and noisy as usual with the sound of keyboards and slow conversations.
But for Well, everything felt different.
Every time he stepped forward, he realized that someone might be watching him, Vivian.
Well sat at his desk and tried to focus on his work but less than five minutes later, the intercom rang.
He could think.
"Yes?"
"Come into my room."
Brief but this time it was no longer scary but gentle.
Well got up and continued walking towards Vivian's office. He knocked on the door and entered as usual.
Vivian stood by the window, looking out.
The morning sunlight shone on her face, making her look softer than usual.
"Okay, close the door."
Well agreed.
As soon as the door closed, the atmosphere changed.
There was no longer any distance like outside.
Vivian turned slowly and looked at him.
For a while, no one spoke.
Finally Well sighed.
"What's wrong?"
Vivian didn't answer right away. Instead, she walked closer slowly as if she was thinking about something.
"Are you okay?"
The question was gentle.
Too gentle for a CEO.
Well was silent for a moment before answering, "I should have asked you that question."
Vivian smiled faintly.
"I'm okay. How are you?"
"Okay." Vivian was silent for a moment.
Then Vivian handed a file to Well.
"This is a new project. I want you to handle it yourself."
Well took the file, but her gaze was still fixed on Vivian.
"Do you trust me?"
Vivian raised her eyebrows slightly.
"I wouldn't give it to you if I didn't trust you," she said with a smile.
Well smiled slightly.
But before she could say anything, there was a knock on the door from the outside.
Vivian immediately moved away a little.
"Come in."
The door opened and Alya entered with a cheerful face.
"Sorry to interrupt. I wanted to confirm the details for next week's campaign."
Her sentence stopped when she saw the atmosphere in the room.
Well and Vivian were standing quite close together.
Too close.
Alya frowned slightly but quickly smiled back.
"Oh, did I come at the wrong time?"
"Oh no, Well wants to leave," Vivian replied quickly, returning to her professional tone.
Well cleared her throat a little before stepping aside.
"Yes, I want to leave."
He left the room with a feeling that was hard to explain.
He was almost dizzy and it made his heart beat faster than usual.
It was noon.
Well had just gotten off the elevator to go eat when someone gently tugged on his arm.
He was startled and turned.
Vivian.
He stood there, no blazer, just a white shirt that made him look more ordinary.
Closer.
"What's wrong?"
"Have lunch with me."
Not a question.
A request.
But his tone was gentle.
Well looked at him for a moment.
"What if people see?"
Vivian shrugged slightly.
"We're just eating."
Well almost laughed. "Okay."
"The way you pull me like this?"
Vivian slowly let go of his hand, a little embarrassed.
"So you want to?"
"Son, come on."
They sat in a corner of the cafe that was a bit hidden.
Not far from the office, but quite private.
The first few minutes were quiet.
Like two people who had known each other for a long time, but didn't know how to start over.
"You still drink coffee without sugar?" Vivian asked softly.
Well smiled slightly.
"You remember."
Vivian didn't answer, just looked down while stirring her drink.
"Okay."
Her tone changed slightly.
"If… if I hadn't made that decision back then…"
She stopped.
Well looked at her.
"We probably wouldn't be talking like this now," Vivian continued slowly.
Well fell silent.
She knew there was truth in that sentence.
But it still hurt.
"But at least… we won't be apart."
Vivian looked up. Their eyes met.
And for a moment… the world seemed to be silent.
"Are you… still angry?" Vivian asked softly.
Well smiled, but there was a hint of bitterness in it.
"I don't know."
To be honest.
"Sometimes I get angry. Sometimes… I just miss you."
That sentence made Vivian fall silent.
Her hands stopped moving.
"Wow…"
Her voice was almost like a whisper.
"Me too."
Well's chest felt tight.
The words were brief.
But it was enough to reopen something she had been trying to close all this time.
But before the atmosphere could get any deeper.
"Eh? Mr. Well?"
The voice came from behind.
Well and Vivian turned around at the same time.
An employee from the office stood not far from them, her face clearly shocked.
Well's heart sank.
Vivian immediately returned to her cold face in an instant.
"Meeting discussion," she said simply.
Well just remained silent, trying to look normal.
The employee nodded slowly, although it was clear that she was still strange.
"Ah, I understand."
He walked away.
But the atmosphere had changed.
Vivian sighed softly.
"It seems we need to be more careful."
Well smiled slightly.
"Or stop pretending?" "Hmm,"
Vivian looked at him.
In that silence, there were a thousand unsaid things between them.
And for the first time…
The distinction between the boss and the husband and wife was becoming increasingly blurred.
Will their relationship be discovered?
