Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Fish That Escaped the Net.

The Spider Spirit Soul was blown apart by the small fireball. Groz trembled violently, suffering a significant backlash.

Taking advantage of the fact that Garros had not yet noticed him, he scrambled and crawled into the Alchemy Workshop, clutching the Communication Stone with trembling claws, trying to activate it to communicate with the Caravan.

Boom!

The roof of the workshop was suddenly ripped open, revealing the night sky above.

As well as the Red-Iron Young Dragon, who was looking down with cold and dangerous eyes.

Garros saw the Communication Stone in Groz's hand.

Fortunately, the runes on it were not lit; it had not been activated yet.

"Great Dragonkin, I am willing to offer everything if you will spare me."

Groz trembled as he spoke a few lines of broken dragon language, begging Garros for mercy.

Dense flames responded to him, engulfing his ugly, ulcer-covered body along with the Communication Stone in his hand, charring them almost instantly.

Garros skimmed low over the Goblin Tribe, breathing out Flame Dragon Breath.

The surging flames soon submerged the Rock-Gnawing Tribe. The lizard heads hanging on the vines were charred and cracked. The entire tribe turned into a sea of fire, and not a single goblin escaped.

Bright firelight illuminated the night, and the Goblin Tribe was burned to the ground.

He soared and circled in the night sky.

Garros looked at the flames below, feeling a burning pain in his throat. This was the aftereffect of breathing out Dragon Breath for a long time. A young dragon's breath duration is very short, but the time he spent breathing out flames in one go had already far exceeded that of a normal young dragon.

"The Alchemy tools on this planet are too advanced. I must be extra cautious when facing intelligent races."

Garros thought seriously.

In the past, when the level of Alchemy was not high, only noble Casters or a few extremely expensive magic items could perform long-distance communication.

But now.

Even a small Goblin Tribe could have an Alchemy tool like a Communication Stone.

It could be used even without knowing magic.

The level of Alchemy magic on this planet even far exceeded the technology of the world Garros lived in in his previous life; they had even built spaceships capable of exploring the Universe.

"That last goblin could speak dragon language, which is quite rare."

Groz's final plea for mercy had actually surprised Garros a little.

A goblin who could speak dragon language, and was also a Shaman, and seemingly knew a bit of Alchemy, had a high intelligence and certain value.

At the very least.

By taking him as a Vassal, Garros could have him use Shamanic Spells to attack him to increase his resistance in that area, and his high intelligence made him suitable to be driven.

But in the end, Garros breathed out his Dragon Breath without any hesitation.

He didn't want to waste his Essence Blood to use Dragon Vein Transformation on a goblin at the cost of delaying his own development, and he didn't know any Spell-like abilities to enslave creatures, so he couldn't guarantee the goblin's loyalty.

Unlike most magical Vicious Beasts.

Intelligent creatures like goblins were treacherous and full of schemes.

Without a way to guarantee loyalty, he might be sold out.

And no matter how special it was, it was still just a goblin after all. To Garros, it was dispensable and not at all important.

Garros blinked, his dragon wings flapped, and his body disappeared into the floating clouds of the night sky, as if he had already left.

About two hours later.

Only a ground full of ashes remained of the Rock-Gnawing Tribe, with a few lingering fires still burning.

Cough, cough, cough!

A thin, small goblin covered in dust crawled out from an inconspicuous crack in the ground, its black face full of fear and hatred.

The tribe was destroyed.

All the clansmen were killed.

The hatred in its heart was unforgettable, and fear could not cover the burning resentment in its eyes.

Staggering along, it walked out from the edge of the wall that had already been burned to ashes. The thin goblin swore in its heart that it carried the hatred of all its clansmen, and no matter the cost, even if it meant selling its Soul to a devil, it would definitely take revenge on that damned Dragon.

Thinking this in its heart.

It suddenly felt a heat on its back.

It was as if the breath of some massive creature had fallen on its body.

Its footsteps froze, and the thin goblin turned around slowly, its movements slow and stiff, like a machine that had been rusted for decades.

Black-Red Dragon scales rose in layers, and a Dragon that looked as if it were cast from steel and iron appeared before it.

"Oh, as expected, there really was a fish that escaped the net by hiding."

Splat!

Garros brought a claw down, crushing the thin goblin.

After checking again and confirming that there were no survivors in the Goblin Tribe, he picked up the mangled remains of the Giant-Arm Miner and soared into the sky, flying back toward the Hemlock Hills.

Not long after.

A ray of sunlight passed through the clouds and shone on the huge rock plate on the hills.

Garros lay here, his claws fiddling with a distorted, spherical object with many tubes sticking out of its surface.

"My dear brother, what is this thing?"

Samantha blinked her eyes curiously and asked.

Because she had food to supplement her, after just one night of good rest, the injuries on her dragon wings had improved, and her originally listless spirit was gradually becoming full.

"The engine of an Alchemy Golem."

This was also the only thing on the Giant-Arm Miner that was still somewhat intact.

Garros picked up the Alchemy Engine and looked at it carefully.

It was very crude. The frame was cast from pig iron, the engraved runes were not smooth enough, all the riveted points retained the indentations of the forging hammer, the joints were not polished, revealing black rust patterns formed by oxidation, and the uncoated gear sets meshed directly, making a sharp noise similar to teeth grinding when fiddled with.

One could tell.

This was a crudely made, very low-quality Alchemy Engine.

But even so, it could support the operation of the eight-meter-tall Giant-Arm Miner.

In a ground battle, if it were a young dragon like Samantha, she might not necessarily be able to defeat the Giant-Arm Miner.

"There is some Alchemy knowledge in the dragon heritage, but it needs to be learned by oneself, and it is very profound; it cannot be mastered quickly overnight."

Garros thought silently.

On Planet Bernardo, the vigorous development of Alchemy has only occurred in these few hundred years. The Alchemy knowledge recorded in the dragon heritage is not much, and there is not much experience left behind.

Learning Alchemy is very mentally taxing and time-consuming.

Garros weighed his thoughts for a while, shook his head slightly, and gave up on the plan to learn Alchemy.

For a long time, Alchemy cannot be converted into combat power and cannot provide effective help for Garros's survival. Moreover, he does not want to rely too much on external things.

In this world where Alchemy is advanced.

Garros would not refuse to use Alchemy tools, nor did he intend to delve deep into Alchemy.

However, if he could master Alchemy Spells, it would indeed provide many conveniences.

"Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be mastered by myself. More accurately, as long as there is an Alchemist around, I can enjoy the dividends of Alchemy, such as smelting Ore, black oil, and crafting Alchemy tools."

He glanced at Samantha and grinned.

"Is there something on my face?"

Samantha tilted her head and stuck out her tongue to lick the fine scales on her face.

"Samantha, do you want countless treasures and to one day become the wealthiest Red Dragon?"

Garros asked kindly.

Red Dragons are of the pure fire attribute, suitable for learning Alchemy, and their magic talent is not low. As long as she is willing to study and learn, she will surely achieve profound accomplishments in the path of Alchemy Spells.

"Of course! That is one of my lifelong pursuits!"

Samantha's eyes lit up, and her tail curled up in excitement.
