Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Based on my popularity among players, I will add some points!

Anya felt a little guilty under Lily's slightly strange gaze.

She tugged at her bleached hair and began to reflect.

"Boss, is the percentage I allocated to those Outsiders too high? Should we change it to ninety-ten? But I think while we'd earn more that way, those Outsiders might develop other ideas, leading to the cooperation not lasting long."

She cautiously offered her opinion.

Her serious expression, paired with her cute face, would make anyone unfamiliar with the context think she was doing something charitable, when in reality, she was contemplating something as ruthless as the slave trade.

Lily rolled her eyes.

Spouting 'old geezer' with every other word, a flash of Inspiration leading to an idea comparable to the truly heinous British Empire—this is the child who grew up in our Abandoned Cooling Plant!

Lily felt that it was only because the current Anya was so weak she could only be used as a combat power unit; otherwise, with her money-grubbing mindset, she would probably turn the Abandoned Cooling Plant into a Palworld factory, then "warmly" invite players to come and play here, playing as Pals.

Child, you are invincible.

She couldn't help but exclaim, "My sister Anya has the makings of a lamppost hanger."

"Anya, this won't do. The friendship between us and those Outsiders is as pure as white clouds; how can we defile it with dirty money?"

Lily decisively intervened.

She couldn't just stand by and watch Anya go astray.

Anya looked at Lily, feeling the sincerity in Lily's eyes, and she lowered her head in shame.

"Boss, I'm sorry, from now on, I will never..."

Her words were cut off halfway by Lily.

"We can't give them money. Don't even say ten percent, not even one credit coin. If we give it to them, they will question our motives and doubt our character."

"Huh?"

Anya was dumbfounded.

If they weren't getting paid, it wasn't just a matter of bad character anymore; it was outright inhuman.

Besides, no matter how easy those Outsiders were to boss around, they wouldn't happily come over if they were squeezed this much, would they?

Could it be that they all had a natural M-constitution and just enjoyed being abused by the boss?

That would truly be perverted!

Lily said, "Of course, we can't directly tell them we're doing this to make money. We have to package it well, so they gain a different sense of accomplishment, and then they won't focus on the money."

Anya was even more confused.

"Watch carefully and learn well. Oh, and don't tell anyone outside what I told you today, got it?" Lily didn't forget to warn her.

She had already thought of a plan.

She would use the pretext of assisting players in entering the Wildfire Gang to investigate the Wildfire Gang's secrets, sending players into the Wildfire Gang in batches.

By then, she would have earned money, the players would have enjoyed the thrill of infiltration and investigation, and the Wildfire Gang Leader would have vented his anger at being provoked by players—a world where everyone wins would be born!

"I still love win-win situations so much."

Lily wanted to give herself a thumbs-up.

Looking at the relaxed Lily, Anya let out a long sigh of relief.

She had been scared to death; she thought the boss had mutated into a good person.

As expected of the boss, she still had so much to learn!

After the two returned home, Lily told Anya to stay home and cook, then went alone to find Martin.

The big incident of Brother Dabiao being ganged up on by players would soon reach Martin's ears, and she needed to preempt it.

"Something happened!"

"What happened?"

Martin looked at Lily, who was walking towards him, in confusion.

Lily anxiously said, "When I went to collect a debt, I saw a group of Outsiders ganging up on Brother Dabiao. Brother Dabiao was no match and was beaten by those Outsiders, scurrying away with his head in his hands. It looks like he probably won't survive."

Martin immediately couldn't sit still: "What about the money? Was the money recovered?"

Lily laid out the 12 credit coins on the table: "When I went, his residence had already been ransacked. I searched in the corner for a long time and only found this much."

Martin was instantly enraged.

Bang!

He slammed the table forcefully, making the water cup fly up.

That was his money, and it had been stolen by those Outsiders!

"Damn Outsiders, damn bastards, I won't rest until you're all dead!"

He shoved the money into his pocket and stormed out.

"You did very well this time. You rest first; I'll assign you a new task when I get back."

Lily pouted.

It had to be him, not giving the promised five percent cut, and immediately talking about assigning a new task. He must have learned from Zhou Bapi.

Luckily, she had hidden over 300 coins beforehand.

[You have completed the Faction Quest [Debt Repayment], gaining 2000 Experience Points and 10 Faction Reputation.]

The game prompt sounded.

As Lily expected, even though she only handed over 12 coins, the game still judged the quest as completed.

Current Experience Points: 3871

After operating for so long, it was finally time for results.

Lily began to level up.

Spirit and Inspiration each saw growth, and Constitution directly doubled. This is what you call a surge in strength, a surge in strength!

It's worth noting that just a day and a half ago, Lily's Constitution was only 5 points.

Getting players to help was indeed much faster than leveling up slowly by herself.

"Is this what security feels like?"

Lily clenched her fists tightly, looking at the back of her hand, which showed almost no external change but was overall smoother. She smiled.

Now, to continue improving her strength, besides accumulating experience to upgrade her main profession, she had to find a way to get more skill books.

The easiest place to obtain skill books and profession books was the Wildfire Gang's library.

However, with her current status, she had no right to enter the library. She had to raise her position within the Wildfire Gang.

It's worth mentioning that managerial positions in the Wildfire Gang were all one-person-one-slot; a position had to become vacant before she could contend for it.

So, what to do next was clear.

Lily looked at the chair Martin had been sitting in.

Old geezer, I've tolerated you for a long time. Now I'll let you know what the wrath of a worker is like!
