Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Slumber

However, it was visible to the naked eye that the scales on these Kobolds began to fall off, and new white dragon scales grew in their place.

Thick white dragon horns also grew on their foreheads, and snow-white dragon wings sprouted from their backs.

However, three Kobolds could not withstand the strain and perished under the rampage of the dragon blood.

Two other Kobolds had their consciousness obliterated during the bloodline conversion, turning into mindless Dragonborn Monsters.

They subconsciously avoided Jona Velli and turned their fangs toward their former clansmen.

"Roar..."

With a roar, they charged at the surrounding Kobolds. Facing all this, Jona Velli remained indifferent, even as one Kobold was about to lose its life.

A white shadow flashed by, and a fist containing terrifying power smashed into the head of one of the Dragonborn Monsters, slamming it into the ground on the spot.

The other Dragonborn Monster saw this and charged at the sudden intruder.

Little Shunzi simply opened his white dragon mouth, and a blue-white fan-shaped Frost Breath sprayed out. The Dragonborn Monster struggled a few times within his breath before losing its life.

After resolving the two troubles, Little Shunzi felt the surging power within his body, his pair of white pupils filled with excitement.

He walked excitedly to Jona Velli and knelt down on the spot.

"Thank you, Master, for the grace of my rebirth. From now on, Little Shunzi's life belongs to you."

Looking at the greatly changed Little Shunzi, Jona Velli nodded her dragon head in satisfaction. This was more like it; his appearance had improved significantly.

Little Shunzi's entire body was covered in white dragon scales, a pair of thick white dragon horns grew on his head, and his originally red pupils had turned into white dragon eyes. More importantly, he had become younger, going from an elderly state to his current prime, and his height had increased to two meters.

This was entirely because he had transformed from a short-lived species into a medium-to-long-lived species, greatly increasing his lifespan.

One after another, Kobolds transformed into Dragon Lineage Kobolds and pledged their loyalty to Jona Velli.

"From now on, your race name is officially changed to Frost Kobolds. And remember, the only object of your loyalty is named—Jona Velli Fullator Amordi!"

"We will follow Master to the death, and will not hesitate even in the face of ten thousand deaths!"

Dragons generally do not reveal their true names because the true name of a dragon is too special, representing absolute uniqueness. If exposed carelessly, someone with ill intent might use the name to cast tracking magic or curses.

However, if it is to Dependents who are absolutely loyal, equivalent to fanatical believers, there is no harm in saying it.

Jona Velli took this group of Kobolds to the White Phosphorus Goblin's nest, letting them mine with Blockhead and his group to reproduce and expand the race, leaving everything in Fanny's hands... Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, two months had gone by. The time for Jona Velli's slumber had arrived.

Feeling the daily increasing drowsiness, Jona Velli knew she was about to enter a periodic slumber, and she didn't know how long this sleep would last.

She found Fanny and the Dependents, ordering them to slowly expand their influence toward the Slumbering Forest and to begin establishing a City-state. This was also a disguised way of allowing Fanny to roam nearby.

Then, Jona Velli went to devour iron ore to reach her peak state before finally returning to the Dragons Lair.

The two dragons, Gris and Friel, were also on the edge of slumber. Jona Velli had originally thought Friel would drive them out of the nest, but unexpectedly, she did not do so.

Instead, she confessed that she had taken in some Gnolls as Dependents and performed a dragon blood conversion on them, making them guard the area around the nest.

Jona Velli was quite surprised by Friel's words. After all, Red Dragons were proud and looked down on all races; she hadn't expected Friel to take the initiative to recruit Dependents.

And so, the three dragons fell into slumber.

In the first year of slumber, Fanny led some Frost Kobolds and White-Scaled Goblin out of the cave to begin building a tribe.

This also caught the attention of the Dragon Vein Gnoll guarding the Dragons Lair, but after sensing the dragon aura on them, they merely remained on alert and no conflict occurred.

In the second year of slumber, with powerful strength, Little Shunzi absorbed three surrounding races: a Minotaur tribe, a Forest Troll tribe, and a Snakemen tribe.

The tribe expanded further, becoming a small village, and roads were built to increase contact with these three tribes.

The third year of slumber.

A wandering merchant caravan came to the Slumbering Forest. Fanny learned that they were traveling merchants from the Wolf Supercontinent in the east, who had come to the Yesupu Continent by crossing the Sea of Stillness.

Fanny successfully established diplomatic relations with them and reached a long-term trade cooperation agreement.

However, what they didn't know was that the real purpose of this wandering caravan was to capture Half-Orc and Half-Half-Orc slaves. Of course, that would be a story for later.

The fourth year of slumber.

Under Fanny's management, a small City-state was successfully established and was still slowly expanding. Many surrounding races chose to join... After the fifth year.

Looking at the increasingly prosperous City-state, Fanny couldn't help but be filled with a thousand thoughts.

Thinking back to when she was just a fledgling Little Fairy, saved by a white dragon by a twist of fate, she had somehow worked here for five years.

After so many years of experience, Fanny was no longer as naive as she was back then. In the beginning, she had wanted to leave more than once, but she had abandoned that idea.

Not to mention whether she would be hunted by that white dragon later, she had already developed certain feelings for this place.

Looking at the increasingly prosperous City-state, she felt incredibly satisfied; this was all her achievement. Sometimes she would even forget that there was still a giant dragon slumbering here.

However, whenever she saw those dragon lineage Dependents and the Red Dragon Dependents from the Longxiao Mountain Range, she would remember.

Standing at the peak of the City Lord's tower, watching the monsters coming and going below, Fanny slightly curled the corners of her mouth.

"Jona Velli, you really are a naughty fellow. I wonder if you still..."

Before she could finish, a Frost Kobold over two meters tall flew in front of her. It was none other than Little Shunzi.

"Little Shunzi, what is it?"

Little Shunzi looked at this tiny Little Fairy and spoke.

"I can feel the bloodline in my body becoming more excited, and the pulse of the Dragon Heart is getting stronger."

"Oh? So?"

"Master... is about to wake up."

Just as he finished speaking, a high-pitched dragon roar rang out. All the monsters followed the sound and saw a seven-meter-long black dragon rush out of the Dragons Lair halfway up the mountain.

"Ahahaha! The great Gris has finally awakened! This surging power, this powerful dragon body! Who dares to fight me?!"

...Jona Velli's consciousness gradually recovered. Looking at the sea of spirit before her, an ice-blue clock floated quietly above it, and her white dragon mouth slightly grinned.
