Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 But my parents aren't with me

Normally, a six-year-old child like me would be led to a ball by family members.

But my parents aren't with me, and my grandfather isn't home. So, I had to take the carriage to the ball by myself.

After arriving at the Silver Palace, I got out of the carriage and walked. There were many people attending the ball, and as a little kid, I was particularly conspicuous walking in the middle of the crowd.

Many adults looked at me with strange gazes. Although my face appeared perfectly natural, I was very nervous inside.

I don't like being in the spotlight; I prefer to be low-key.

After reaching the venue, I found a corner and used my small stature to my advantage, trying my best to remain inconspicuous.

Through the discussions of the nobles gathered in small groups, I learned who the star of today's ball was.

The five-year-old Second Princess of Asura, Ariel Anemoi Asura.

I have a very deep impression of her. She is a very calculating and ambitious woman who eventually defeated her brothers to ascend to the throne as the King of Asura, becoming a powerful queen of her generation.

According to the other timelines mentioned by the Dragon God, her destiny to ascend the throne is very strong, which shows she is inherently a very talented person.

Regardless of what she's like in this world, in short, staying away from her is definitely the right move.

After another half hour, when most people had arrived, I saw a familiar face in the venue: my grandfather, Darius. He seemed exceptionally popular, surrounded by so many people fawning over him that it was impassable.

I just pretended not to see him. I'm trying to have as little contact with him as possible now. I'm afraid of being corrupted by him.

After the banquet began, I saw the King give his toast and opening remarks.

This King is the complete opposite of my grandfather. I heard they were childhood friends, which is truly hard to imagine.

My grandfather is like a plump watermelon; the ground seems to tremble when he walks, and his face is so fat it feels like oil could burst out.

This King is like a bamboo pole in the wind, so light he seems like he could be blown away by a gust. His skin is shriveled, and even his hair and beard are snow-white.

However, they both have one thing in common: their words are filled with authority, giving one a sense that they must not be disobeyed.

After the standard opening lines ended, the King led out a blonde little girl who looked somewhat familiar.

Oh right, she's the one who danced with me at my birthday banquet.

Even though it's been a year and she's changed into a different gown, that breathtakingly beautiful face is definitely hers.

Back then, although I told Izoruti in the small garden that she looked best in kendo clothes, that was about her aura. If looking purely at the face, this girl is definitely the most stunning female present.

I saw the King introduce his little princess to everyone and wish her a happy birthday. There were also a bunch of gifts.

Because they were wrapped in gift boxes, I couldn't see what they were.

At the very end, the Kingdom also needed to select two Guardian Knights for the Princess to protect her safety at all times.

I remember this; one should be Luke, and the other should be Sylphiette. But Sylphiette should still be in Buena Village having mud thrown at her, right?

"Luke Notos Greyrat, step forward. Are you willing to offer your life and use the sword in your hand to protect the Princess's safety, becoming her Guardian Knight, and fulfilling the duty of defending her for the rest of your life?"
