Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: My Grandfather Is Darius

After the ceremony to award the title of Apprentice Knight was completed, I returned to the castle with my teacher.

At four years old, I could already use high-level magic, and I had already trained my Water God Style Swordsmanship to the intermediate level.

These were skills that, in my teacher's eyes, an ordinary person would take over ten years to learn.

I learned them in less than two and a half years, and I heard him mutter again, "Truly a Child of God."

It seemed that all my abnormalities were attributed by outsiders to the talent of a Child of God.

That was fine; as long as I wasn't locked up and studied like a monster, I would be satisfied.

If they misunderstood me as a Child of God, let them; I'll just pretend not to know, hehe!

That evening, my father summoned me through the butler and asked me to go to his study.

This was my forbidden area, a room I had been forbidden to enter since childhood.

Upon entering the study, my father sat behind a large, oval mahogany desk, and I was led to the seat opposite him.

My father got straight to the point: "Dorin, your grandfather is taking you to Yars, the royal capital of the Asura Kingdom.

He intends to raise you personally over there.

Although I strongly pleaded, I couldn't change his mind."

"Father, what kind of person is Grandfather? Why do you look so worried? Will we never see each other again?"

"What are you saying, silly child? Although I have to manage Rohan City normally and cannot travel to Yars, I will bring your mother to the royal capital to celebrate your birthdays when you turn five, ten, and fifteen.

Both you and I are the first-in-line heirs of the Prodia Family.

Unlike my older brothers, we are not confined to a single city; we have the mission to inherit the family and can have a freer life.

As for your grandfather, his name is Darius Prodia Grelat.

He is currently the most powerful high-ranking minister in the court and the most important ally of the current King Arthur Anemoi Asura.

Your grandfather had a deep friendship with the current King of Asura when he was young.

His power in the kingdom is immense; he is the main reason why our Prodia Family is so powerful now.

However, he also has some 'minor issues,' which I won't elaborate on with you.

When you arrive in Yars, you must obey your grandfather's orders and strive to improve yourself; do not slack off.

Avoid trouble, and do not get involved where you shouldn't.

Your grandfather has a good impression of you; he won't be too harsh on you, so go without worry."

After listening to my father, I bowed and left his study, returning to my room, my mind filled with the information I had received from him.

My grandfather was none other than that notorious Darius, the fat man who was later killed by Ghislaine with a single sword strike.

This is too awkward.

To think that a human trafficker who abducted young girls was my grandfather—it instantly brought a sense of relief when I remembered he was also a member of the Prodia Family.

However, as Darius's grandson, when Ariel eventually fights her way back, will our family be purged?

It feels highly possible.

At that time, the Dragon God will certainly intervene for Ariel to ascend the throne.

If we stand on the opposing side, we will be purged; that would be too awkward.

No matter how hard I try, I probably can't win against Orsted, after all, he is an old monster who has lived through countless reincarnations.

And most importantly, I must not be drawn into the conflict between the Human God and the Dragon God.

Doing so would draw the attention of the Human God.

He would focus on anyone who changes the history of his fateful battle with the Dragon God.

That means whether I support the First Prince Gustav Zaphnen Asura or the Second Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura, I will be noticed by the Human God.

At that point, my life would be controlled and toyed with.

The reason I haven't been noticed yet is that I pose no threat to the Human God, just like Rudeus before his transfer.

The progression of history hasn't threatened him, so he isn't paying attention.

In short, there is still much to do.

If all else fails, once I'm a bit older, I should just flee the Asura Kingdom.

I have no interest in being a noble lord anyway.

That life of attending balls daily and doing nothing but stealing other people's wives or having my own wife stolen is not something I care about at all.

Since I've come to this world, I should live more spectacularly.

Perhaps I could even meet some Elf or Beastman young ladies in an adventurer party.

Having come to another world, so far I've only met the Little People Clan, who are like children; this is too much of a disadvantage when it comes to encountering other races.

First, I must improve myself and at least have the means for self-preservation.

Then, I must do my utmost not to wade into the murky waters of the Human God and the Dragon God, to avoid being noticed.

That is my biggest goal.

This world is so vast; knowing history in advance, wouldn't it be easy to achieve boundless freedom?

After thinking so much, I finally drifted off to sleep.

At noon the next day, after bidding farewell to my father and mother, I set off on the road to Yars.

On the way, thinking of my mother's face, which was about to turn into a tearful mess upon seeing me leave, I still felt a bit moved.

In one very large carriage sat my four maids, and there was a male servant outside the carriage.

Outside, 300 knights were escorting us; it should be quite safe, right?

Speaking of which, I realized why the common people of Rohan City hated our family so much; it was probably related to my grandfather.

Since he liked abducting infants so much, the citizens of that city must dislike him.
