Conversations reflecting around the room, papers being stamped, some in cuffs others in chairs explaining their situations to officers of the law. We see the thug(1) and the other hooligans reporting the incident of last night to the police.
"They gung up on us. Nearly taking out lives. I ran away after they spared these two. And they made us swear we wouldn't tell the authorities. But we couldn't just let radical benders out in the street." The thug lies as he pretends to be the victim in this scenerio. The detective, Mr. Hwang Jung Gyu, a South Korean-Japanese male, in his 30's, built physique and charming facials, crimson red colored iris and glasses.
Detective Jung Gyu takes notes and looks intensely at the thug. "And your name is?", the thug hesitates as he answers "K-Kenra", the detective looks at him and let's out a soft chuckle "Alright, Kinra", "I'm serious!" Kenra let's out. "And it's not Kinra, it's Kenra. There's a difference", Kenra resumes as the detective continues to take notes and faces Kenra again. "Thank you for the information. We'll get back to you once we find anything. You can leave now." Kenra gets up and leaves the room. Another tall detective addresses Mr Jung Gyu, the partner of Jung Gyu, Yuta. Light clear skin and a slim feature across his lean figure.
"Think there is any truth behind what he's saying?",Yuta asks, Jung Gyu replies "Please... That's the fourth report in 19 hours about spotted benders. And I know a criminal when I see one. That guy's just in it for the money." after Jung Gyu's statement, an officer walks over to their desks and gives them a tablet, "I think you'll want to take those criminals words to consideration" the officer implies as he hands over the tablet. Jung Gyu watches the video and witnesses the thug and Sumi as she attacks him. Jung Gyu stands up and gives the officer back the tablet "I want everything you can find about the girl in the video, the two boys included." the officer takes the tablet and replies" yes, sir" the officer walks away.
Recess at Eliona academy, Rokan, Sumi and Rin are sitting together. The boys look at Sumi as if interrogating her in their minds while she mindlessly enjoys her meal. Rokan asks "how long have you known you had... bending" he whispers at the last word he utters. She holds up her palm indicating her reply as 'five years' Rokan exclamates "Five years?!" Rin scammpers as he closes Rokans mouth. After Rin let's go Rokan whispers "five years? And you didn't thinks to tell me?". A sad look creeps on Sumi's face as she looks down picking her fingers. Rokan sighs and grips her hand gently "Nothing about us would have changed if you had told me. Okay? And nothing will definitely change now, hm?" Sumi nods with joy. Rin looks at them with a rather puzzled facial expression, showing his suspicion. He resumes to ask, "Are you guys..." Rokan interrupts his sentence and says "No...!" they both stare at Rin with indignation.
Rin looks at Rokan and asks him, "I'm more surprised of you, than her honestly... You had dual elemental manipulation. I don't think the government have ever even thought of such an inflorescense of elemental dexterity." Sumi appears to be confused by Rin's words. Rokan replies to his statement "I've never felt such a rush before. My body felt... different." Staring deep at his palm as if he was confused of what he was, mixed emotions of curiosity and fear slowly build up in him as he puts his hands down and tries to continue eating his lunch. Rin tells Rokan, " Have you heard of the term Avatar before?", Rokan and Sumi both look at Rin as if expecting more from his statement. "I've not only heard of it. I've been sternly educated on the topic" Rokan replies whilst Rin remains expectant of the information Rokan carries.
"The avatars as described in ancient books of old have been described as choosen beings, who are bestowed with the power of a thousand benders. With multiple elements at their disposal, they are the bridge between physical and spiritual. They are the very print of hope the world looks at when all has vanished. Those are the Avatars" Rokan explains to Rin and Sumi. Sumi applauds his historical intellect with a smile. Rin asks "I only know that they have multiple bending. How do you know so much. I'm surprised since bending has barely been seen for nearly a decade. Speaking less of an Avatar." Rokan with a light smile across his face, expressing discomfort and relief at once replies to Rin's question."Well... My parents gave me daily sessions on bending, the past nations and all the greatest avatars that have lived and have been recorded. They believed our world was thrown into imbalance immediately the law of no bending came to exist. They believed that the Avatar, one day, would come back...and save humans from themselves." Rin chuckles as he says"Well, It's funny they were educating the very thing they have been awaiting", Rokan doesn't feel great after the words of Rin. Rokan uses his chopsticks to move his food into different parts of his plate, thoughts brushing through his mind on how this could've happened. Rokan thinks to himself "But... How could this be happening? I've been a normal kid just until yesterday and now I'm being regarded by a kid I just met yesterday as an avatar". Hands hovering over his face with sideways movements, Rin tries to gain Rokan's attention which after some time, later accomplishes. "Sorry..." Rokan apologizes, "Just so many things running through my head right now". Rin asks Rokan "What do you plan to do now?" Rokan let's out a forced smile "Isn't it obvious? I'm gonna get cleansed" Rin's opposition to the idea is clear "Don't do that", Rokan asks "Why not?", Rin says "Are you insane? Isn't it bad enough that regular benders get missing after going for that dumbass cleansing. After that you having dual elematal manipulation, only God knows what they might do to you". The bell rings. Sumi is the first to stand up and leave the table. "We can talk about this later. Let's go to class". Rokan assures as he stands up to follow Sumi. Rin's opposition to Rokan's idea of going for a cleanse is visible.
In this context, getting a cleanse is removal of all bending abilities from benders to make them more humane. The government created this technology to help take away their bending but the benders that went to get a cleanse where either left missing or even if they came back, they would be different from when they left either physically or mentally. This was a reality Rokan was unknowing of, and Rin was ready to tell Rokan of these events.
Red lights glowing through a straight and clustered road. Mr. Jung Gyu and Yuta are in a vehicle on their way to Eliona academy. "Will this light ever turn green?" Yuta complains as he effortlessly smacks the steering wheels in front of him. Jung Gyu running through some files with the Pic of Rokan, Sumi and Rin and he whispers to himself "They're just kids" Yuta glances at Jung Gyu and asks for what he said, "Nothing..." Jung Gyu replies as he drops the files on his lap, "It's green, drive" Jung Gyu says.
We settle on Rokan in the school's restroom. He is washing up his hands at the sink as he sees an old figure, around his late 70's with a bucket and a mop walk into the bathroom and walks past Rokan. This man looked very good for his age with a decently built physique. Rokan notices this man and just decides to bow at him and tries to walk away. "Young avatar" Rokan's eyes widen as the janitor utters these words. "How do you...?" Word fail Rokan after he feels nothing but fear spread all over his heart. Hands melting as they shake as if sighting an apparition, his legs trembling with just this sentence and he stammered along asking "W-Who are you?" the janitor carefreely answers as he mops the floors "Me? Well, I'm the janitor of this place. And I have been watching you for a very long time Avatar Rokan". Rokan rushes over to the stalls and opens each one of them to assure no one is listening. After he finishes the inspection he walks over to the janitor and says "How did you know?" the janitor, while still moping, doesn't answer Rokan's question. Rokan in desperate need for an answer bursts out the word "HOW?!" the old man pauses mid swing and slowly looks up at Rokan and replies him "the real question is... How did you Not know?"
While all this is going on the detectives pull up at the gate of Eliona academy and flash their badges to the security guards as they let themselves in. Rin and Sumi, oblivious to all that's going on are still in their classes both attending to their lesson.
"You have always had the spirit of Rava in you for as long as I could remember. You unlocking your abilities just now are a shock to me" Back at the bathroom, as the old man utters while he walks over to the sink and rests his hips on it. Rokan strolls over to the man and pleads "I am begging you, don't say anything. I was going to go and get cleansed immediately after the week ended, I'm beggi-" the janitor interrupts and says "Cleansed? Don't you know?" Rokan asks "Know what?"
In Rin's class, he asks his teacher to be excused. After the permission had been granted, he walks out the class just to notice the detectives inspecting teachers for the location of their classes. Rin spots this and immediately runs toward Sumi's classroom. Yuta spots him as he sprints over to Sumi and Rokan's classroom. Yuta notifies his partner and Mr. Jung Gyu immediately speaks into his hand held transreciever and utters the words "We've located the suspect, backup will be needed immediately, over at Eliona Academy, along the endsmeet Bridge, hurry!" they rush over to follow Sumi.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" Kai insists as he let's out a loud voice. The old man grins and asks "Aren't there better things to worry about?", Kai's brows arrange in confusion and the old man continues "I'd check on my friends if I were you". Kai ran out the bathroom with nothing in his mind but to check up on Sumi and Rin. The old man watches Rokan run out shortly before resuming his mopping.
Rokan runs to his class and sees Rin running toward their classroom. He approaches Rokan and says gasping after sprinting due to his lack of breath "We gotta leave, the cops are after us" Crowded hallways to the aid of Rokan and Rin. Detectives scrambling through as they try rushing toward Rin. They look up and notice the boys standing near a classroom. "HEY!" Jung Gyu shouts.
"Let's get Sumi" Rokan says. They turn toward the classroom and see that lessons are still ongoing for them and she as always is asleep. They barge into the classroom and shout out "Sumi!" Rokan calls out as he rushes through the neatly rowed individual seats. Rin bowing relentlessly in apology to the teacher.
"Wake up! Sumi, we gotta go!", Rokan nudges Sumi as she is slowly opens her eyes. Barely even able to blink with falling back asleep. It is noticeable that she is clearly feeling weak. Rokan takes initiative to take her on his back and says to Rin "Let's go!" Rin gives a final bow of apology and follows Rokan.
Rokan and Rin pass through the classes back door. As they walk out the second door. They see the detectives looking through the first. Yuta notices the kids and taps Jung Gyu's shoulders. "There" Yuta points after alerting Jung Gyu and they resume their pursuit.
Rokan, Rin and Sumi all together, run toward the schools gate. After a long run, they see two police officer cars as they approach it. Rin asks Rokan "What do we do?" Rokan thinks as he sees a car just behind the officers' police car as they are readying their stun guns to tase them. "I think I have a plan. But if you join in... You're gonna be targeted by law as well". Rin remembers how much pain Rokan went through to save him and he replies "I'm with you. Let do this" Rokan looks back and sees multiple students witnessing this scene as the detectives are right behind them. Rokan immediately closes his eyes with pain and regret of his actions, he thinks to himself "Mother, father. I am sorry. I am so sorry..." he opens his eyes with a determined facial expression engraving his face "... But I promise to fix all this"
Nearly approaching the school's entrance gate, Rokan focuses as he briefly stops and tells Rin to hold him. Rin complies and holds Rokan. The detectives drawing closer and closer. Ground cracking and instantly being raised from it's roots to help thrust the kids over the gate and over the roof of the cars. The detectives left to watch as the kids soar in the air for a few seconds as they Jung Gyu takes out his gun and targets it at Rokan. He hesitated to pull the trigger and before he could make up his mind, they had successfully but rougly landed over everyone.
Rokan shields Sumi to soften her fall as they had flown over the gate and the cop cars. Rin stands up limping and breaks the car's window open to surprisingly see the old janitor behind the steering wheels. He jokes "You could've just told me to open the door" Rin sits at the front and Rokan gently but swiftly places Sumi at the back seat and gets in the car. He closes the door and shouts "DRIVE!" The old man steps on the accelerator and the car instantly bursts in swift motion.
Rokan is confused to the situation and let's it out of his chest. "Wait... Why aren't they chasing after us?" He looks behind the cars through the back windshield and see people with the look, as if they had given up. "You can't drive a car that has no tyres". The old man phrases as he smirks.
The detectives finally leave the gate. "Why aren't we chasing them?" Yuta asks. One of the police officers answer "Flat tyres sir. And no one's got a pair. Even if we did, they'd be long gone by the time we even tried to fix it". Jung Gyu goes to the car they arrived in and sees the tyres got deflated as well. "Who could've done this in such short time?"
