Jay Jay POV
I didn't wake up peacefully.
I woke up like someone had pressed fast forward on my life without asking me.
—
My eyes snapped open, and for a second, I just stared at the ceiling, disoriented… until reality hit all at once.
Last night.
The tension.
The words.
Him.
—
I shut my eyes again, pressing my palm against them as if that could block everything out.
It didn't.
—
But something else came instead.
A decision.
—
They don't get to see it.
—
Not the hurt.
Not the confusion.
Not the way everything inside me still felt… unsettled.
—
Especially not him.
—
"He wanted to see me break?" I muttered under my breath, sitting up abruptly. "Too bad."
—
Yes, I was broken.
I knew that.
I could feel it in the quiet moments, in the way my chest felt heavier than usual.
—
But no one else needed to know.
—
I swung my legs off the bed—
and immediately realized something was wrong.
—
Too bright.
Too late.
—
I turned toward the clock.
And froze.
—
"Oh no."
—
I shot up so fast I almost tripped over my own blanket.
"Are you serious right now?!"
—
Of course.
Of course after all the drama last night—
I overslept.
—
"Great," I muttered, rushing toward the bathroom. "Emotionally unstable and academically failing. Love that for me."
—
I splashed cold water on my face quickly, not even giving myself time to process anything.
No staring into the mirror today.
No deep thoughts.
No space to feel.
—
Just survival.
—
I brushed my teeth in record time, half-running back into the room while trying to fix my hair with one hand.
"Why does everything happen at once?" I mumbled, pulling on my uniform hurriedly.
—
My shirt was slightly wrinkled.
I didn't fix it.
—
My tie? Crooked.
I adjusted it halfway and gave up.
—
Hair? Messy
Good enough.
—
I grabbed my bag, nearly dropping it on the way out.
"Perfect," I muttered. "Absolutely perfect."
The moment I stepped into the living area—
Percy looked up.
Paused.
And then his eyes narrowed slightly like he was observing a rare species in its natural habitat.
—
"Wow," he said slowly, dragging the word out, "what exactly happened to you?"
—
"Time happened," I shot back, rushing past him toward the kitchen. "And betrayal. Mostly by my alarm."
—
I grabbed a toast from the counter, biting into it without even sitting down, already halfway out of the moment mentally.
—
Percy turned toward me fully now, arms crossing as he leaned against the counter.
"You know," he said, "there was a point this morning where I considered waking you up."
—
I stopped mid-bite.
Turned to him.
"And you didn't?"
—
He shook his head, completely unbothered.
"Nope."
—
I stared at him in disbelief. "Why?!"
—
He took a step closer, lowering his voice slightly like he was about to reveal something important.
"Because," he said, "you sleep like… a rock that signed a legal contract to never respond to external stimuli."
—
I blinked.
"Excuse me?"
—
"I'm serious," he continued, now fully committed. "I knocked. No response. I called your name. Nothing. At one point, I genuinely thought—"
He paused dramatically.
"—you had entered a coma."
—
I rolled my eyes. "Very funny."
—
"I even waved my hand in front of your face," he added. "No reaction. I was offended, honestly. Like wow, I don't even exist in your sleep world?"
—
"That's because even my unconscious mind has standards."
—
He clutched his chest. "That hurt. Deeply."
—
"Good."
—
I took another bite, already moving toward the door.
"I'm late, Percy."
—
"You're not late," he corrected calmly. "You're extremely late."
—
"Not helping."
—
He sighed, grabbing his keys from the table.
"Come on. I'll drop you."
—
I stopped again, turning slightly. "I didn't ask."
—
"I didn't offer," he replied instantly. "I decided."
—
"…That sounds illegal."
—
"It's called caring. Try it sometime."
—
I gave him a look but didn't argue.
Because honestly—
I didn't have the time or the energy.
—
As we walked toward the door, I adjusted my bag, still chewing.
—
"By the way, your favorite person already left."
—
I didn't react.
Didn't slow down.
—
"Keifer went early," he added, watching me carefully. "And Luna left for work. Full corporate mode. Scary, honestly."
—
"Hmm."
—
That was all I gave.
—
He noticed.
Of course he did.
—
"And Keiren?" he continued, smirking slightly. "Still asleep. Probably dreaming about insulting people."
—
"That sounds accurate."
—
"And Keigan is in the kitchen, having breakfast like a responsible citizen."
—
"Rare species."
—
Percy grinned. "Extinct, actually."
—
We stepped out, and the morning air hit differently.
Cool.
Awake.
Real.
—
I slid into the passenger seat a little too fast, my bag slipping off my shoulder and landing awkwardly against my knee.
"Perfect," I muttered under my breath, trying to fix it while pulling the door shut.
—
Percy glanced at me as he started the engine, one eyebrow lifting slowly.
"You look like you ran here from another city."
—
"I basically did," I shot back, pushing my hair back from my face.
It kept falling forward again, soft strands brushing against my eyes, refusing to stay in place.
—
He watched that for a second.
Then smirked.
"Ah. The effortlessly chaotic look. Very rare. Very dangerous."
—
"I didn't choose this look," I said, trying again to tuck my hair behind my ear. "This look chose me."
—
"Yeah, I can see that. It attacked you and left no survivors."
—
I rolled my eyes, leaning back into the seat, giving up on fixing anything.
The breeze from the slightly open window slipped in, catching my hair again, making it worse—but somehow… better.
More real.
—
"Don't say it," I warned, noticing him about to speak again.
—
"I was just going to say," he continued anyway, "if this is your 'I overslept and gave up' version, then I'm concerned for everyone on a normal day."
—
"Concerned or jealous?"
—
"Deeply threatened."
—
"Good."
—
The car pulled onto the road, merging into the slow flow of morning traffic.
For a few seconds, neither of us spoke.
—
I leaned my head slightly against the window, watching the outside blur past—the shops opening, people walking, everything moving like it always does… like nothing inside me had changed.
—
My hair shifted again with the wind, brushing against my cheek, and this time I didn't fix it.
I just let it be.
—
"You didn't even try to make yourself look… presentable," Percy said after a moment, glancing at me again.
—
"I did," I replied. "This is the result."
—
"That's concerning."
—
"I was late."
—
"That's not an excuse for attacking fashion."
—
I turned my head slightly, giving him a look.
"You're the last person who should talk about fashion. You dress like you're trying to impress mirrors."
—
"Because mirrors deserve to see something beautiful."
—
"That's the most self-obsessed thing you've said today."
—
"Today just started. Give me time."
—
Despite everything—
a small breath of something lighter escaped me.
Not quite a laugh.
But close.
—
He noticed.
Of course he did.
—
"See?" he said softly. "Still human."
—
I didn't respond immediately.
Just looked back out the window.
—
"I never said I wasn't," I murmured.
—
The silence that followed wasn't awkward.
It was… careful.
Like both of us knew there were things sitting between the words that didn't need to be spoken yet.
—
After a moment, he spoke again—quieter this time.
"You're holding it in."
—
It wasn't a question.
—
I let my fingers trace absent patterns on my bag.
"Yeah."
—
"That healthy?"
—
"No."
—
A pause.
—
"But it's necessary," I added.
—
He nodded slightly, eyes still on the road.
"For now."
—
"For now," I repeated.
—
The car slowed as we neared the school gate.
Students crowded around, voices blending into that familiar chaos.
—
"Alright," Percy said, shifting back into his usual tone, "go create confusion."
—
"I already am confused."
—
"Even better. Spread it."
—
I opened the door, stepping out—
and immediately had to push my hair back again because the wind decided to betray me one last time.
—
Percy laughed. "You versus your hair is my favorite storyline."
—
"I'm losing."
—
"Clearly."
—
I adjusted my bag, standing there for a second—
not fixing everything.
Not trying to be perfect.
—
Just… being.
—
"Try not to trip," he added.
—
"No promises."
—
"Confidence."
—
"Delusion."
—
"Same thing."
—
"Btw jay... listen"he said with a sence of seriousness
I looked at him quickly "yeh tell me?"
"I'm the most handsome person in this world" he said and started laughing crazyly
Oh my god my crazy brother..."byee percy I cannot handle your handsomeness anymore"
I shut the door and turned toward the gate, my steps slowing just enough to steady myself.
—
My hair still messy.
My uniform not perfect.
My mind… not quiet.
—
But my face?
—
Calm.
—
Because no matter how chaotic everything felt—
I wasn't letting it show.
—
Not here.
—
Not today.
The moment I stepped into the classroom, everything went loud.
Not noise—just… people.
I took a deep breath, the kind of feels like you're dragging every bit of air out of your lungs. I also slapped my face with both of my hands to wake myself up.
I walked normally, like it was a ordinary day. Like I was entering a normal class, on a normal day...with normal classmates, but yes nothing with normal anymore
The moment I stepped through the door, it was as if an angle has passed by. Everyone completely felt silent while staring at me.
"It's jay jay"
"she came"
"Do you think she's okay now"
"I think she's still mad at us"
"Jay jay" ci n shouted loudly with a smile
I wanted to, but I couldn't return that smile again after what happened
I sat on the corner seat
"So you're finally back" David said
"No, I'm not you are just imagining things" I replied sarcastically
He let out a small laugh, then he returned to his seat
"Jay jay—listen—" "we're sorry, okay?" "We didn't mean—" "Please just hear us out—we know we messed up—but believe us our bond was never fake it was all real—that plan was just our mistake"
Someone from them said
"Stop" I replied we no emotions in my voice just a cold reply, that's what they deserve
I didn't look at any of them. "I don't need your apologies. Keep them."
A pause. Heavy. Awkward.
Then, of course… him.
Keifer.
"Jay jay… at least listen to them once," he said, softer than the rest. Careful. Like he was trying not to break something already shattered.
I ignored him
Coz that's what he deserves
"Jay... I'm saying something"
Ignoring—again
"Jay..Reply"
"Jay..I said REPLY..are you not listening"
I turned to him slowly.
Cold. Completely cold.
"You don't tell me what to do."
That hit harder than shouting ever could.
His jaw tightened. "I'm just saying—"
"And I'm just saying," I cut him off, voice flat, "you lost that right."
The bell rang before he could respond.
Perfect timing.
Sir Alvin walked in, completely unaware of the storm sitting inside me. He started teaching like it was any normal day—explaining something on the board, writing, talking, asking questions.
I heard nothing.
Words blurred. Chalk scratched. Pages flipped.
But all I could see… was the betrayal
What they did.
What he did.
It replayed again and again, louder than anything in that room.
Finally the bell rang, signalling lunchtime
I was about to go out but a plate was shoved right in front of my face. Ci n was smiling as he handed me a plate of pancakes.
It looked fresh off the pan, with steam still rising from them. The butter was already melted on the top and the syrup was spread evenly.
"I don't want it. You eat it." I said uninterested, and pushed the plate back towards him.
"It's delicious! Remember when you cooked it once in classroom and burned it." He said cheerfully
"Just take it na." He said while grinning while pushing the plate against me again
I pushed back "I'm not in the mood to eat right now"
He slide the plate once to me again "but it's really good"
"Ci n, I don't want it, just eat it yourself or give it to someone else"
"But this is for you"
"But I don't want it"
"Just take a bite" you won't regret it, promise"
"I said no"
"Come on...say ahhh"
I turned my head away. But he followed me. I was getting irritated! My hand moved on its own to push his away, but I accidentally hit the plate he was holding to
"I said I don't want it"
He stared sadly on the plate that has fallen on the ground
What do you want me to do? Pretend I'm okay? Act like nothing happened? Damn it! I cannot fake things like you all...I said
I took a deep breath. Then just walked out.

A/N
So many of you were saying that why is keifer behaviour like this..and he's not sorry for what he did he's just pretending like nothing happened
So here's my POV on that : like right now keifer is acting like he doesn't love jay jay that's why he's behaving like that..so in this chapter I have written keifer as he is not able to control his emotions for jay and jay is colder as ice to him 🧊
And yess Jason is comming very soon (maybe in next chapter) and his entry will be the best plot of the story. 💣 💥
So I also want your suggestions on what trope and plot would you like to see next
Target : 10 comments for next chapter 🎯
