Chapter 11: Kakashi's Shock
The wall was covered with all kinds of strangely shaped weapons. There were even combination weapons like a hammer and sickle connected by chains.
Naruto's gaze finally landed on a blade with a pitch-black edge. Its design was similar to a Nichirin sword. The blade wasn't too long — perfect for his current size and age.
He picked up the black sword and gripped it. It felt very comfortable in his hand.
But when he saw the price tag, he frowned.
Price: 500,000 ryo.
With his current weekly allowance of 1,000 ryo, this was a huge sum.
After thinking for a moment, Naruto realized there was one person who might be able to help him.
The next day, after school, in the classroom.
Most of Class A had already left. Naruto sat by the window, quietly waiting.
Over the past few months, Hinata always waited until he left before she would go home. Today was no exception.
But as the classroom grew emptier, Hinata became increasingly nervous. She kept stealing glances at Naruto, wondering why he was still here today.
When Naruto stood up and walked over to her, Hinata clutched her hands tightly under the desk, her heart pounding.
"Hinata, can you do me a favor?" Naruto asked directly.
Hinata froze for a second, lowered her head, and only after gathering her courage did she answer in a soft voice.
"…Yes."
She didn't even ask what the favor was. She simply agreed.
This level of trust made Naruto smile.
But the thought of borrowing money from a little girl still made him feel a bit awkward.
"Um… Hinata, do you have 500,000 ryo?"
He finally asked, a little embarrassed.
Hinata blinked, her cute little face falling into deep thought as she tried to calculate whether she had that much. A few seconds later, she nodded rapidly like a pecking chicken. "500,000 ryo…? I don't really spend my pocket money. I think I should have it."
As expected of a rich clan's daughter, Naruto thought.
"Naruto-kun… do you need the money urgently?" Hinata asked gently when she saw his hesitation.
Naruto scratched his head, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Yeah. I need to buy a ninja sword. Can you lend it to me?"
Hinata nodded without the slightest hesitation.
...
On a street near the Hyuga clan grounds.
Hinata, who had gone back to her clan estate, walked up to Naruto and handed him a white pouch that looked quite full.
Naruto opened it and saw it was stuffed with banknotes. After a quick count, it was definitely more than 500,000 ryo.
Naruto nodded seriously. "I'll return it to you as soon as possible."
Hinata shook her head with a soft hum. "Mm~ It's okay. I don't really need money."
Looking at the adorable girl in front of him, Naruto thought for a moment and said, "How about this — as thanks, I'll teach you how to train whenever you have time. Sound good?"
Hearing that she could train together with Naruto in the future, Hinata's face instantly turned bright red. Though extremely shy, she nodded with clear anticipation.
After saying goodbye to Hinata, Naruto returned to the ninja tool shop.
Tenten was still sitting behind the counter.
He walked straight to the wall of weapons with practiced ease.
But the sword he wanted was now being held by a black-haired boy.
The boy had short black hair, bright dark eyes, and a slightly prominent nose. On the back of his clothes was a fan-shaped emblem — the Uchiha clan symbol.
The moment Naruto saw him, the boy also looked over, a gentle smile on his face. He didn't carry the usual arrogant aura most Uchiha had.
Seeming to realize that Naruto wanted the sword in his hand, the boy silently placed it back on the rack and turned to leave.
Naruto watched the boy's departing back and guessed his identity.
Uchiha Shisui — known as "Shisui of the Body Flicker," currently the strongest Uchiha in name. Extremely talented, but unfortunately too soft-hearted and not cunning enough.
Ignoring the small interruption, Naruto stepped forward and picked up the black-bladed sword with the red handle.
The fact that even Shisui had been interested in it proved the sword had something special.
He took the sword to the counter to pay.
Tenten looked at him, a little uncertain. "Are you sure you want this one?"
"Is there a problem?" Naruto asked.
Tenten shook her head. "No. That'll be 500,000 ryo."
Naruto paid the money and bought the sword.
As soon as he purchased it, the Third Hokage received the report.
"He borrowed money from Hyuga Hinata and bought a ninja sword…"
Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the white-haired Anbu wearing a mask and took a deep drag from his pipe, his voice low.
"Kakashi, I'll have to trouble you to keep an even closer eye on him. Make sure Naruto doesn't hurt any villagers. If necessary, confiscate his sword."
"Yes!"
Kakashi accepted the order and left.
With the sword in hand, Naruto wasted no time and immediately began training the Wind Breathing sword forms.
Once again at Training Ground 3, by the small stream.
Naruto gripped the sword, his breathing steady and controlled.
Not far away, hidden in a tree, Kakashi and two other Anbu watched silently.
Naruto's eyes were focused. He held the sword with both hands and slowly raised it into a starting stance.
Watching this, a trace of nostalgia flashed in Kakashi's eyes. He too had once trained rigorously with the sword.
Two and a half hours later.
Naruto stared straight ahead, completely concentrated, as if the entire world had shrunk down to the blade in his hands.
A whirlwind began to swirl around him. The grass at his feet shook, starting slow and growing violently.
With a sharp glint in his eyes, Naruto mobilized his chakra. Visible cyan wind blades appeared around his body!
First Form: Dust Whirlwind Slash!
Countless massive cyan wind blades enveloped Naruto, forming a horizontal cyan tornado that swept forward like a blue dragon toward a large tree dozens of meters away.
In an instant, the thick cyan wind blades sliced across the distance. The massive tree was shredded into pieces. Branches and leaves filled the sky.
Naruto stood on the now-flat tree stump and slowly sheathed his sword.
The First Form, enhanced with chakra, was indeed powerful!
Even with only basic mastery, its destructive power was already enough to overwhelm most A-rank ninjutsu!
The First Form combined rapid approach and lethal damage in one technique. It allowed him to close the distance instantly and set up the following sword forms.
But with this level of power, many enemies might not even survive the first strike!
Moreover, it required no hand seals and could be used instantly — greatly increasing its practicality.
Kakashi and the two Anbu who witnessed the slash were all stunned speechless.
"Kakashi, what kind of technique was that? I didn't see the kid form any seals. Can pure swordsmanship really reach this level?" Yamanaka I asked with a frown.
Another young Anbu muttered, "So cool… I want to learn it…"
Kakashi, a descendant of the famous sword-using Hatake clan, was momentarily at a loss for words.
His father had been known as Konoha's White Fang, but even he had never produced this kind of destructive power with just sword techniques!
Naruto's slash had completely overturned Kakashi's understanding of swordsmanship.
