Everyone held their breath as they watched Sophia approach the frozen figure trapped in the ice. Just as her trembling hand reached out to grasp the cowl, a bone-chilling crack echoed through the forest! In a matter of seconds, the figure shattered the ice encasing his body with a burst of pitch-black, corrupted energy surging from his veins. As shards of ice flew through the air, his massive axe descended toward Sophia's head in a lethal arc.
"Sophia, look out!"
Shizuka lunged forward with lightning speed, pulling Sophia back just in time. The axe struck the earth, carving a deep fissure into the ground. At that moment, Noah emerged from the shadows, his sword gleaming like silver under the moonlight.
"Have you fallen so low as to attack women and children from behind?" Noah asked, his voice trembling with a frigid rage. "Drop your mask so we can see who we are fighting!"
The hooded figure slowly straightened up and cast aside his cloak. The face revealed was none other than Bram, the harshest member of the group. Sophia and Shizuka stood frozen in shock. Hyoga, however, simply watched; every piece of the vision he had seen finally clicked into place.
"Bram... Why?" Sophia whispered, her voice cracking with profound disappointment.
Bram smiled with a dark, hollow gaze. "Noah... I would have had to eliminate all of you eventually before finding that ancient artifact in the forest. You've simply moved up my schedule."
Bram gripped his axe tighter and lunged at Noah like a wild beast. Noah tried to parry the attacks with the speed of the wind, but he was pushed back with every collision against Bram's raw physical strength. As Noah braced his sword against the axe, the clang of metal on metal rang through the woods. Noah's blade began to crack under the pressure.
"Stop him!" Noah barked through gritted teeth.
Sophia and Shizuka were preparing their spells, but Bram was attacking so wildly and unpredictably that they feared hitting Noah. In 그 moment, Hyoga squeezed Naomi's hand.
"Naomi! Do it just like the day you blew me away! Lift him with the wind, break his balance!"
Naomi was shaking with terror, but the trust in Hyoga's eyes gave her strength. She raised her small hands and focused her entire will beneath Bram's feet. "Air: 2nd Art—Rising Cyclone!"
A massive pressure wave erupted directly beneath Bram, launching the large man into the air like a feather. With his feet off the ground, Bram lost his terrifying leverage and was left vulnerable. Noah immediately seized the opportunity.
"Well done, kids!"
Noah imbued his sword with wind mana and unleashed a flurry of rapid slashes at the hovering Bram. Even in mid-air, Bram used his axe as a shield; however, Shizuka chose that exact moment to make her move. A brilliant, blinding beam of light erupted from her hands, aiming straight for Bram's eyes: "Light: 3rd Art—Solar Blindness!"
Blinded, Bram roared in agony. Sophia seized this opening to shout her most powerful incantation: "Ice: 5th Art—Absolute Zero Shackle!"
The moment Bram slammed into the ground, ice runes rose from all sides, encasing him in a massive, unbreakable crystal. This time, the ice was pure enough to suppress Bram's dark energy. A heavy, snowy silence descended upon the forest.
"We did it... We actually did it," Hyoga murmured. He hugged Naomi as tears streamed down his cheeks. He had changed fate with his own hands. But on the faces of Sophia and Shizuka, there was no victory—only the deep pain of losing a friend.
Noah sighed deeply, looking at the broken hilt of his sword. "Is it over?" he asked, turning to Hyoga.
Hyoga told Noah the truth about his vision and how the necklace had cracked. Noah was struck by the maturity of this twelve-year-old boy. They securely imprisoned Bram in a runic pit beneath the campsite. To keep him there, Sophia and Shizuka would need to use all their energy to maintain the ice shield.
"Here is the plan," Noah said, placing a hand on Hyoga's shoulder. "The artifact Bram mentioned might be more dangerous than we thought. Sophia and Shizuka must stay here and keep watch over Bram. Naomi will stay safely with them."
"What about you?" Naomi asked anxiously.
Noah looked at Hyoga. "Hyoga and I are going to the heart of the forest."
Naomi took Hyoga's hand. "Be careful. Come back soon."
Hyoga squeezed Naomi's hand one last time and etched the protective gaze Sophia gave him into his heart. The lost prince and the leader of the group took their first steps toward the dark and deep heart of the forest as the first light of dawn began to seep through the trees.
