Chapter 12 Ruthless Nami (1/1)
Boom—!!!
A thunderous roar suddenly erupted in the peaceful downtown area of Orange Town.
A beautiful mushroom cloud shot into the sky and quickly spread throughout the entire town.
Moments later, various building debris and rubble rained down from the sky like raindrops.
Luffy, V, and Zoro, who had just entered the town, were also startled by the sudden explosion.
"Wow! Fireworks are going off over there!" Luffy looked curiously in the direction of the explosion.
"Idiot, that's obviously not fireworks, is it?" Zoro gripped the hilt of his sword, going into a state of alert.
Only V was instantly moved upon seeing the mushroom cloud.
"...No way!?"
The mechanical joints of his prosthetic legs suddenly emitted a high-frequency hum, and several vector nozzles instantly unfolded on the soles and heels, spewing out a dark blue plasma flame.
Whoosh!
The next second, his figure shot up like a black lightning bolt, almost vertically up the exterior wall of the building.
In just a few breaths, V had already leaped onto the roof of a nearby three-story building.
Stop, then turn around.
The blue light in the eye surged, and the focus rapidly became clear.
The scene at the epicenter of the explosion instantly came into his view.
Large areas of buildings were razed to the ground, with charred wooden beams and bricks mixed with twisted fragments of metal cannon barrels scattered everywhere.
Thick smoke billowed, and the flames still burned.
In the ruins, fragments of mutilated human bodies and pirate flags can be vaguely seen, and intermittent wails drift on the wind.
"What happened?" V asked, looking bewildered. "The Buggy Pirates... committed suicide?"
This is not what we agreed on.
He frowned in distress.
Those charred corpses were all experience points and trading points that he had pre-ordered!
"What's going on?"
"There are ruthless people in the East Blue? They actually dared to do such a vicious thing to the Buggy Pirates?"
V's gaze swept quickly across the area, assessing the situation while searching for any "material" that might still be salvageable.
However, at that moment, a bright orange color suddenly entered his field of vision, standing out starkly against the backdrop of the gray and black ruins.
"That is..."
The focus of the prosthetic eye is instantly adjusted and magnified.
A petite figure lay face down on the ground.
His short orange hair was messy and covered in dust, and there were burn and tear marks on the back of his clothes.
A large shard of broken glass pierced straight into her back, causing blood to flow incessantly.
"...That's...Nami!?"
A familiar sense of déjà vu washed over him, prompting V to blurt it out.
Looking back, at this point in the original timeline, Nami did indeed meet Luffy in Orange Town.
Good news: The world's trajectory hasn't deviated too much.
Bad news: It seems our valuable navigator is dying?
V immediately leaped off the roof, the auxiliary thrusters of his leg prosthetics shooting in reverse mid-air, precisely cushioning the impact of the landing.
He strode towards that orange color.
With an extremely strong will to survive, Nami sensed someone approaching. She struggled to lift her head and looked at V who was walking towards her.
"Help...help me..."
She has not yet redeemed Cocoyasi Village from the Arlong Pirates.
She must not fall here.
"Don't struggle."
Seeing that Nami's life force was becoming increasingly weak, V quickly bent down.
Before she could finish speaking, a swift chop to the back of Nami's neck struck her.
Nami immediately lost consciousness.
Almost at the same moment Nami's body went limp, a familiar system notification sounded in V's mind:
[Ding! A wounded person has been detected who has fallen into a coma. Should we contain them?]
"Containment!" V breathed a sigh of relief, then let out a long sigh: "You're lucky to be alive..."
Fortunately, she was some distance from the explosion's epicenter, and she was just unlucky enough to be hit in vital areas by flying glass rather than being directly swept away by the blast.
Just then, hurried footsteps approached.
"V! What happened?!"
Luffy and Zoro rushed over.
I'll explain the details later.
"You two go and help me rescue those pirates from the ruins."
"Do everything you can to keep them alive!"
V spoke succinctly, and with a thought, entered the control room.
Luffy and Zoro, who already had some understanding of V's abilities, exchanged a glance.
Zoro: "Anyway, let's do as V says for now."
"Yes." Luffy nodded vigorously.
The two quickly launched a rescue operation.
...
...
Inside the Cyberspace control room.
The pale white operating lights emitted a cold, faint glow.
V stood by the operating table, his prosthetic eye, glowing with a faint blue light, quickly scanning Nami's pale face.
[Patient: Nami (human)]
[Energy Level: Tier 1]
[Physical condition: Penetrating wound (fatal): approximately 12cm in length, pierced from below the left scapula, penetrated the lower edge of the lung lobe, and was only 1.7cm from the heart.]
Internal organ damage: regional perforation of the left lung, accompanied by pneumothorax; fractures of the third and fourth ribs.
Blood loss: Approximately 28% blood loss, and vital signs continue to decline.
Burns to the body surface: First- and second-degree burns on the back and arms, covering an area of approximately 8%.
Mild concussion: caused by the shockwave from the explosion.
Treatment recommendation: Emergency surgery: Remove the foreign object, repair the lung lobe and blood vessels, and transfuse synthetic blood.
Bone repair: Use nano bone adhesive to treat rib fractures.
Burn treatment: Spray with regenerating gel to promote epidermal cell proliferation.
[A rare and unique carrier has been detected. Its nervous system possesses extraordinary elemental affinity and climate perception precision, and it can be sold for a high price on the black market or converted into a special prosthetic body.]
"Good heavens, that was a close call."
Looking at Nami's long list of injury reports, V sighed with relief.
The next moment, he opened the prosthetic body shop.
Nami's injuries were too severe, and the free equipment and medicines in the control room were clearly not enough to fully restore her to her original state.
Fortunately, even the Tier 1 cybernetic shop has enough medicine to handle any surgery for an ordinary human.
"Purchase: 2 units of synthetic blood, 1 tube of nano bone adhesive, 1 can of regeneration gel."
200 trading points vanished instantly from V's account, causing his trading point reserves to fall below the 2000 mark.
"This consumed one-tenth of my assets in one go; isn't that a huge financial blow?"
"When you wake up…we'll have to have a good talk about the 'reward'."
The needle tip lightly touches the skin, and the injection is administered silently.
As the cold robotic arm operates at high speed, V begins a silent yet fierce race for life.
...
...
At the same time, in the ruins of Orange Town.
"Hey! There's still one alive here!"
Luffy stretched out his rubber arm and pulled a pirate covered in soot and coughing incessantly from under a pile of charred wood.
When the pirate saw Luffy, he was so frightened that he scrambled to his feet, yelling, "Monster—!"
"Who are you calling a monster?!" Luffy puffed out his cheeks and punched him into the ground. "I'm here to save you!"
Zoro stood to the side, expressionless, and sheathed his sword.
He had just knocked out two remnants of the Buggy Pirates who were trying to resist with the back of his knife.
"Weren't we here to cause trouble for Buggy?" Zoro frowned. "Why did V send us to rescue them?"
"V seems to have made me do the same thing before." Luffy tilted his head and recalled, "Whatever, just listen to V."
"You seem to have it easy being captain," Zoro said, glancing at Luffy with a sigh.
Just then, a rustling sound came from the center of the ruins.
The rubble was pushed aside, and a trembling hand wearing a white glove reached out.
Immediately afterwards, a head with a red nose and half-covered in clown makeup popped out.
"Cough, cough... Damn woman... I'll kill you!!!"
