Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Second Gift

Two hundred years.

And the void welcomed me back like an old friend.

But this time…

It wasn't empty.

I blinked.

A room stretched before me—warm, strangely normal. A couch. A table. Shelves lined with books. A glowing screen flickering with motion. Even… video games.

And in the center—

A cake.

Perfectly made.

"…You redecorated," I said slowly.

Amelia smiled, sitting casually as if she'd always belonged there.

"I thought you might appreciate something more… comfortable this time."

I huffed a quiet laugh.

"…You're learning."

She stood, clapping her hands lightly.

"Time for your present."

The wheel appeared again.

Larger. Louder.

More dangerous.

I didn't hesitate.

I spun it.

It roared to life, flashing through worlds, powers, artifacts—possibilities stacking infinitely on top of each other.

Then—

It slowed.

Stopped.

Annihilation Maker

Silence.

"…Oh."

My lips slowly curled into a grin.

"Oh, that's insane."

Power surged through me immediately.

Creation—not of simple constructs—but of beings. Monsters. Weapons. Entire armies forged from imagination and magic.

Not necromancy.

Not shadow constructs.

This was creation without limits.

I exhaled slowly.

"…You're really spoiling me."

Amelia only smiled.

We celebrated.

Cake. Conversation. Time that didn't feel like war or strategy or survival.

Just… existence.

But eventually—

I leaned forward slightly.

"…I want to make a trade."

Her eyes flickered with interest.

"My time powers from before," I continued. "The old ones. From Homura Akemi."

Amelia tilted her head.

"You want to give them up?"

"They're redundant now," I said simply. "I've surpassed them."

She considered me for a moment.

Then nodded.

"You can trade them."

A pause.

"But the replacement… will come from a similar universe."

"…So it could be worse."

"Yes."

I smiled anyway.

"…Do it."

The wheel appeared again.

This time… it felt heavier.

I spun it.

And waited.

It slowed.

Stopped.

Touka Satomi

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then—

Everything did.

Memories flooded in.

Not chaotic—structured, sharp, intelligent.

Equations.

Theories.

Magic systems broken down into logic and energy conversion principles.

I staggered slightly.

"…Energy conversion…" I whispered.

And then I felt it.

Power.

Not raw.

Not explosive.

Endless.

The world around me—every particle, every form of energy—became fuel.

Heat.

Light.

Motion.

Magic.

All of it… mine to convert.

My Soul Gem pulsed.

Changed.

Grew.

Stronger.

Cleaner.

Stable.

"…So I don't run out anymore," I said softly.

Amelia watched quietly.

I lifted a hand.

A small flame appeared.

Then expanded—brighter, hotter—fed not by my reserves, but by the environment itself.

"…Infinite output…"

A slow smile spread across my face.

"Now this…"

This was perfect.

Time magic.

Shadow magic.

Necromancy.

Annihilation Maker.

And now—

A near-bottomless energy supply.

I laughed quietly.

"I might actually break your world next time," I said, glancing at Amelia.

She only smiled.

"Try not to."

We stayed a while longer.

Talking.

Existing.

Before the void began to fade again.

"See you in a hundred years," she said softly.

I nodded.

"…I'll be stronger."

"You always are."

Darkness.

Then—

My castle.

My room.

My bed.

I opened my eyes slowly.

And smiled.

Because now…

I didn't just have power.

I had infinite fuel for it.

And Merlin's perfect prison?

It suddenly didn't feel so perfect anymore.
