Hucheng Conservatory of Music.
Military Training Square.
The summer heat was sweltering.
In the other formations, the instructors had chosen to move to shaded areas to let the New Students rest for a while.
However, the formation led by Huang Hui stood in place without moving a muscle.
They were braving the scorching heat.
After Zhou Xing had exposed his identity, the New Students no longer felt much fear toward Huang Hui.
There were even frequent instances of New Students talking back to him.
One or two cases would have been fine.
But if he provoked public outrage, he wouldn't be able to handle the fallout.
After a brief moment of anxiety,
Huang Hui noticed that Zhou Xing had simply left and that there were no immediate repercussions.
He then felt at ease.
He assumed Zhou Xing was just talking big; if he truly had the power to command the school, why would he be part of the Military Training ranks?
Huang Hui breathed a sigh of relief and regained his confidence.
Faced with these New Students, he naturally had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
He chose to let them bake in the sun to wear down their temperaments and let them see clearly... who exactly was the boss here.
As for Zhou Xing, once the morning Military Training was over, Huang Hui would naturally report him, and the disciplinary action would be more than enough for him to handle.
Huang Hui was secretly smug.
Offending him would only result in asking for trouble.
A whole morning of exposure to the sun would be enough for these New Students to suffer.
He could already see that several girls were looking distressed, on the verge of collapsing.
Next would be the moment his authority was restored.
"Huang Hui... let them go rest for a bit. If they get heatstroke, it'll be hard to explain to the higher-ups."
Another instructor from the Instructor Team couldn't stand it anymore and came over to advise him.
Huang Hui, however, was dismissive: "The New Students nowadays are too rebellious and pampered. Back when we were training in the Instructor Team, it was much harder than this. This is nothing. I'm doing this for their own good, to temper their will, so they don't fail to even endure Military Training."
"Don't be so hasty, though."
Huang Hui sneered: "You aren't worried that I'll train these New Students too well and take the title of the First Formation after training, affecting your chances of being evaluated as an Advanced Instructor, are you?"
"Sigh..."
Seeing that Huang Hui was completely unreasonable, the instructor didn't bother saying more. He sighed, gave the New Students a look of pity, and turned to leave.
He had acted out of kindness; since Huang Hui wouldn't listen, he wouldn't be to blame if something happened.
Huang Hui watched the instructor leave, his gaze turning dark.
His heart was filled with disdain.
Let these New Students off? Impossible. He had just lost face, so he had to pay them back a hundredfold through these guys.
Just as he was reveling in his pride,
several middle-aged men in shirts walked toward him.
The leader was a man of about forty with glasses and a square-jawed face.
Huang Hui was startled when he saw them.
The Department Director... why was he here?
In front of the students, he was a domineering instructor, but in front of the teachers, he didn't dare show even a hint of arrogance.
"Hello, Director."
Seeing the Director walking toward him, he hurriedly bowed in greeting.
The Director didn't respond, only looking at him expressionlessly: "You are Huang Hui, right?"
"It's me... Teacher, did something happen?"
Huang Hui asked cautiously.
The Director looked at the New Students under the blazing sun and immediately frowned, pointing at his nose and scolding: "The weather is so hot, and while other teams are choosing to rest or conduct indoor activities, you're the only one making them stand here motionless. How are you even acting as an instructor!"
"If something happens to them, can you take responsibility!"
"You bastard!"
The string of rebukes
left Huang Hui dazed.
Facing the Director, he couldn't get a word out for a long time. Feeling anxious, he hurriedly explained: "Director... I..."
"Enough."
The Director impatiently interrupted him: "Come with us directly. The Principal wants to see you. Whatever you have to say, say it to him."
"The Principal!"
Huang Hui's eyes widened, his heart filled with extreme trepidation. He had no idea what was happening and was suddenly drenched in sweat.
He couldn't fathom why the Principal would want to see him.
Zhou Xing's figure flashed through his mind.
It couldn't be him, could it?
He quickly dismissed the thought; that was absolutely impossible!
Zhou Xing was just a New Student; how could he have the ability to involve even the Principal?
"Director, what does the Principal want with me?"
Huang Hui gathered his courage to ask.
"What for... you know very well yourself."
The Director snorted coldly, looking at him with a frigid expression: "I never expected an unremarkable fellow like you... if I hadn't come here today, I really wouldn't have known how audacious you are!"
"Pin him down for me, so he doesn't try anything."
The Director gave the order.
Security guards stepped forward!
They seized Huang Hui, preparing to haul him toward the Principal's office.
No matter how slow Huang Hui was,
he understood by now... the Director's aggressive arrival was definitely not a good sign.
He was terrified and struggled constantly, but his limbs were trembling so much from fear that he couldn't muster any strength. He was dragged away by the guards like a pathetic dog, with no trace left of his previous arrogance.
Seeing this, the New Students felt as refreshed as if they had taken a bite of chilled watermelon in the summer.
They absolutely loathed this instructor,
Huang Hui!
The more miserable he was, the happier they were. It would be best if he were kicked out of the school entirely.
The Director ignored Huang Hui and turned to look at the New Students, his expression softening slightly: "You all return to your dorms to rest for now. Military Training is suspended for today. Wait for further notice from the school."
"Long live the Director!"
Hearing this, the New Students immediately cheered with joy.
They all had looks of excitement on their faces.
Some of the cleverer ones had already connected the dots based on the Director's attitude toward Huang Hui.
They immediately began to gloat over his misfortune.
Huang Hui truly reaped what he sowed.
Of all the people to provoke,
he just had to target Zhou Xing.
Now look... the matter had clearly blown up and wouldn't end well.
The New Students shook their heads; one might survive a disaster sent by heaven, but there was no escape from one's own self-inflicted ruin. As Huang Hui was dragged away by the guards, he was watched by passing students, but he no longer cared about the embarrassment.
He was currently in a state of panic,
clueless about the situation.
Seeing the Director catch up, his eyes lit up, and he quickly cried out: "Director, what exactly is going on? I've always been law-abiding at school. As a member of the Instructor Team, I've worked diligently to help the school train New Students. Plus, I was an Advanced Instructor last year, and the formation I led was the best in the whole school."
"What exactly did I do wrong?"
The Director looked at Huang Hui's hysterical state. If the Principal hadn't investigated and found out, it would have been truly hard to imagine that a college student could be so twisted.
A short while later,
the group arrived at the Principal's office.
The Director stepped forward and knocked on the door.
"Enter."
Fu Zhoupu's voice came from inside.
The door was pushed open.
Huang Hui, who had been struggling constantly, suddenly went quiet. He stared fixedly at the young figure sitting on the sofa.
Zhou Xing!
How could he possibly be here?
Seeing him, Zhou Xing's lips curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.
"What... you seem very surprised to see me?"
