Chapter 167 - Chapter 166: Shadow, Imprisoned Dragon

The Thunder Beast seized this fleeting opportunity, its palm transforming into a sharp electric blade. The azure current condensed into a razor-sharp edge, carrying the momentum of a guaranteed hit, and plunged fiercely into Rin's back.

"Sizzle—!"

The sound of electricity searing flesh was ear-piercing. The electric blade successfully pierced into Rin's body, but after penetrating half an inch, it was forcefully blocked by a resilient layer of Cursed Energy, unable to advance even a fraction further.

Rin let out a muffled grunt, his Crimson Sharingan snapping around to glare at the Thunder Beast behind him.

Black-red Cursed Energy erupted from within his body, instantly blasting the Thunder Beast several meters away.

He raised a hand to cover the wound on his back, using Reversed Cursed Energy to quickly repair the damaged flesh, yet there was no trace of retreat in his eyes; instead, an even more intense fighting spirit ignited within them.

"Is that all the strength you have?"

Rin sneered, his gaze sweeping over the struggling Rain Dragon on the ground and the Thunder Beast in the distance.

Before the words had even faded, he exerted force through his feet, and his figure darted out once again.

Rin's fist, enveloped in violent black-red Cursed Energy, slammed fiercely onto the top of the lightning dragon's head like a falling meteorite.

"Bang!" The muffled, thunderous sound shook the earth, causing it to crack. The dragon's massive body was actually smashed directly into the ground by this single punch, kicking up a sky full of dust and mud.

The cyan-black dragon scales shattered, and purple blood mixed with mud sprayed out. The dragon let out a painful roar, its pupils, interwoven with gold and azure, filled with incredulous rage.

Before the dragon could struggle to its feet, the shadow behind Rin suddenly churned and expanded, like a waking abyss, instantly spreading into a pitch-black swamp.

The viscous shadows, carrying an aura that devoured everything, flowed along the ground, completely enveloping the dragon trapped in the earth.

Countless thick shadow tentacles emerged from the swamp, wrapping tightly around the dragon's limbs, neck, and wings like iron chains. Sharp tendrils even pierced into the cracks of its dragon scales, frantically draining its Cursed Energy.

"Roar!!!"

The dragon twisted its body desperately, its massive strength causing the earth to tremble incessantly. Ripples rose on the surface of the swamp, but it could never break free from the shadow's imprisonment. The shadow tentacles were like parasitic vines growing on its body; the more it struggled, the tighter they wrapped, dragging its body inch by inch into the depths of the dark swamp.

The dragon's Cursed Energy leaked out frantically, tearing against the shadow Cursed Energy and making a sizzling sound, but it could only watch helplessly as it was gradually devoured.

Rin knelt on one knee, his palm pressed against the ground, as black-red Cursed Energy poured continuously into the shadow swamp, reinforcing the strength of the imprisonment.

His Crimson Sharingan locked firmly onto the dragon, a cold smile curling the corner of his mouth:

"Struggling is useless. No matter how tough your body is, it cannot withstand the devouring of the shadows."

Just at that moment, a blinding bolt of lightning suddenly struck down from the sky!

The Thunder Beast could no longer hold back. The lightning around its body surged to the extreme, transforming into a tangible beam of blue electricity that rushed straight toward Rin's back with a sharp sound that tore through the air.

It knew very well that once the dragon was completely devoured by the shadow swamp, it would be unable to stand alone. At this moment, it had to give its all to save its companion.

The crimson gaze of the Sharingan had long since locked onto that speeding blue lightning, yet Rin never turned around, as if he were completely unaware of the lethal killing intent behind him.

The Thunder Beast's fist, wrapped in crackling currents, carried the momentum of a guaranteed hit as it slammed fiercely toward Rin's back. It firmly believed that this strike would heavily injure its opponent and buy time for the Rain Dragon to break free.

But just as the fist was about to touch Rin's clothes, an unexpected change occurred!

Rin's body was like foam soaked by rain; it instantly disintegrated and dissipated on the spot, leaving only a string of crystalline water droplets streaking through the air.

"What?!"

The Thunder Beast's pupils constricted sharply, its face full of incredulous shock.

Its attack missed, and its body stumbled forward two steps due to inertia. Before it could even react, a cold aura rushed toward it from the front.

Rin's figure had already re-condensed, standing less than three meters in front of the Thunder Beast.

His Crimson Sharingan were like two burning blood moons, locking firmly onto the Thunder Beast. That gaze was as sharp as a knife, carrying an oppressive sense of insight that made the hair on the Thunder Beast's body stand on end and filled its heart with inexplicable panic.

"How is this..."

The Thunder Beast wanted to retreat, but it suddenly discovered that its body seemed to be nailed to the spot. Its limbs were so stiff it couldn't move, and it couldn't even muster a shred of lightning Cursed Energy.

It looked at Rin in terror, its eyes filled with confusion and fear.

Rin's mouth curled slightly, forming a cold smile, his voice low and bewitching:

"Immerse yourself in the Illusion of the Sharingan."

It turned out that the moment the Thunder Beast launched its attack, Rin had cast the Sharingan's Illusion, simultaneously using dark Cursed Arts to simulate an afterimage of himself, while his true body instantly teleported in front of the Thunder Beast.

At this moment, the Thunder Beast had already fallen into an endless Illusion; everything before its eyes was false, and only its imprisoned body and Rin's figure were truly real.

The next second, Rin slowly raised his palm, his Crimson Sharingan still locked onto the immobile Thunder Beast.

Black-red Cursed Energy frantically condensed and churned in his palm, transforming into the phantom image of a pitch-black Tank, its muzzle pointed directly at the Thunder Beast's chest.

"Tank."

As the short word fell, a deadly tongue of flame erupted from his palm.

A shell wrapped in violent Cursed Energy whistled out, carrying a sharp sound that tore through the air, and like an arrow leaving the bow, it accurately struck the Thunder Beast's chest.

The Thunder Beast could only watch helplessly as the shell approached, its eyes full of despair, yet it had no room for even a shred of resistance.

It could clearly feel that the destructive power contained within that shell was enough to completely crush its cursed spirit core.

"Boom!!!"

A violent explosion resounded, and the black-red Cursed Energy instantly detonated on the Thunder Beast's chest.

A terrifying shockwave swept through the surroundings. The Thunder Beast's chest was blown directly into bloody, mangled fragments, with purple blood and black Cursed Energy mist splattering everywhere. Its body collapsed softly, leaving only a head with wide-open eyes rolling into the mud, its life force completely extinguished.

"Thunder Beast!"

The Rain Dragon below witnessed its brother's tragic death and let out a heart-wrenching dragon roar.

The violence and wariness in its eyes were instantly replaced by extreme grief and rage. The Cursed Energy within its body surged frantically, and its body, which had been tightly imprisoned by the shadow tentacles, erupted with unprecedented power.

With continuous "snap" sounds, the shadow tentacles were broken one by one. The Rain Dragon's massive body suddenly broke free from its restraints and rushed desperately toward the Thunder Beast's head.

But it was ultimately one step too late.

Rin's cold gaze turned to the charging Rain Dragon, without a trace of pity at the corner of his mouth.

The Cursed Energy behind him surged again, and countless phantom artillery cannons appeared out of thin air, their muzzles aimed squarely at the Rain Dragon, with black-red missiles already poised and ready.

"Katyusha."

Following Rin's low shout, several missiles whistled out like dense raindrops, slamming fiercely toward the Rain Dragon's body.

Explosions rang out one after another, continuous and ceaseless. Violent Cursed Energy detonated on the Rain Dragon, cyan-black dragon scales shattered and flew, and purple blood gushed out like a fountain.

The Rain Dragon's body was hit by the missiles one after another, yet it still did not stop its advance.

Enduring the excruciating pain throughout its body, it forcibly broke through the barrage of artillery fire, rushed to the side of the Thunder Beast's head, and carefully protected the head under its massive dragon claws.

By now, the Rain Dragon was already covered in wounds; most of its dragon wings had been blown off, and its body was covered in wounds deep enough to see the bone. Its golden slit pupils were filled with grief and despair.

But it still protected the Thunder Beast's head beneath it, as if that were its final obsession.

Rin stood where he was, watching this scene, his Crimson Sharingan showing no trace of fluctuation.

He waved his hand, and the artillery cannons behind him condensed missiles once again, clearly with no intention of stopping.

In this battle, no matter how the Rain Dragon struggled, it was destined to meet only one end: annihilation.
