Shao Jingxin stood there gripping his bleeding arm, jaw clenched tightly as he endured the pain. His glowing golden eyes were fixed on Xinyuan like he wanted to crack open his skull and see exactly what was going on inside his head.
But Xinyuan simply stood there with his hands tucked into his pockets.
He looked calm. Completely still. But his warm brown eyes had darkened so much they almost looked black beneath the lights.
Jingxin rolled his eyes.
"Are you just going to stare at me, baby brother?" he asked. "You can't even help me after your guide fucking shot me."
A smile spread across Xinyuan's face. It wasn't pleasant.
His left eye flashed red. Then he took a single step forward.
Jingxin's casual attitude disappeared.
Without lifting a finger, Xinyuan yanked him off the ground.
The invisible force wrapped around Jingxin effortlessly, leaving him dangling several feet above the floor.
"Why are you here?" Xinyuan's voice was calm. Dangerously calm.
