Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Fulfilling the Promise

The plot development of Silent Hill was just like how, in reality, certain media outlets distort the facts and deliberately guide uninformed people into condemning innocent people.

Meanwhile, the real culprit hides behind the scenes, letting out silent laughter.

It truly carried a bit of satire toward reality.

This game was simply incredible!

At the same time, once the hidden plot was understood, clearing the game became extremely smooth. There was no need to face any more high-intensity scares. All you had to do was destroy the radio.

Even the most timid person could easily complete this game.

It gave people the feeling of "just when you think you're at the end of the road, another village appears beyond the willows and bright flowers."

As for who exactly killed the protagonist's wife and daughter in the game, that would probably have to wait until the official version to be revealed.

However, it was unknown whether they would even get the chance to wait.

The video of Silent Hill's perfect ending once again spread across the world, drawing heartfelt praise from countless players.

"I can't even think of any words of praise left to compliment this game!"

"This game can be said to have perfectly illustrated to us what the Ninth Art truly is!!!"

"What does it mean to teach through entertainment? This is it. This game taught us one principle: always maintain independent thinking and don't easily get swept up by other people's rhythm!"

"The moment I learned about Silent Hill's perfect ending, I suddenly realized one thing. The only thing that can defeat New World Studio's game is probably its next game!"

"I apologize for my previous negative review. Is it still possible for me to change it now?!"

It was unknown whether they had been moved or not, but a large number of players who had previously given bad reviews went back to the Steam review section and changed them to positive reviews.

In an instant, Silent Hill's positive review rate skyrocketed from the original 70 percent all the way up to 99 percent.

At home, Jenny was also holding her phone, having just finished watching Benjamin's final playthrough video of Silent Hill.

Then, she excitedly went to find Lucien, who was still working hard in front of the computer.

"Luc,I didn't expect you to be this talented!"

"The way you designed the plot is just too beautiful. It really shook me to the core."

"Come here, let big sis give you a hug!"

As she spoke, Jenny reached out to embrace Lucien.

"Hug my ass, you siscon." Lucien unceremoniously pushed his sister away, then asked.

"So does this mean someone has cleared the perfect ending?"

"Yeah, it was that Benjamin again!" Jenny didn't mind Lucien disdain at all and continued smiling as she replied, "This guy is pretty impressive. He was the first to complete both playthroughs!"

"Mm, that's true." Lucien nodded.

"But then again, I'm not surprised. After all, the hints I gave on your X were obvious enough."

"Now it looks like I really have to fulfill my promise."

"Let me check the exact situation first."

As he spoke, Lucien opened the Steam backend.

"Whoa, not bad. There are already nearly two hundred thousand people who have cleared Silent Hill." Lucien glanced at the backend and laughed.

"That many?!" Jenny was startled at first, then reacted.

"Oh right, there's nothing surprising about that. Now that the hidden clues have been discovered, literally anyone can clear it!"

It was just smashing a radio after all. Without having to experience any high-intensity segments, clearing the game was a matter of minutes. This game had suddenly gone from 18+ to suitable for all ages.

Lucien began checking the top fifty players who had achieved the perfect ending.

Judging from the IP addresses of these fifty players, nearly one third were from U.S, while the rest were from other countries.

The distribution was quite wide too: Japan, Korea, Denmark, China, and so on. There were players from Asia, Europe, and even one from North Korea.

After memorizing all their Steam accounts, Lucien prepared to private message each one individually.

"Hey, Luc."

At this moment, Jenny leaned in again.

"What is it?" Lucien asked.

"Can I get to experience that new game you're developing ahead of everyone else?" Jenny asked a bit hesitantly.

"You want to experience it? Are you in the top fifty?" Lucien asked knowingly.

"Nope."

"If not, then what are you even talking about!"

"But I'm your sister!" Jenny retorted.

"Stop trying to get close. Even if you were my wife, it wouldn't work!"

"...."

Jenny fell silent then. She pouted, sniffling, looking like she was about to cry from the grievance.

"Alright, alright, I was just joking. You're my sister, of course I'll let you play it first!"

Lucien said upon seeing her reaction.

"I'll install the game on your computer tonight and let you experience it first."

Jenny's face changed faster than flipping a book. Upon hearing this, the aggrieved look on her face instantly bloomed into a smile.

"Sure, sure. As expected of my little brother! Mwah!"

As she spoke, Jenny happily planted a kiss on Lucien cheek.

"Hey, you're getting saliva all over my face!" Lucien grumbled, quickly wiping it with his hand.
