Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Visiting the Saiyan

After the chaos subsided, Beerus and Whis retired to their rooms to rest, while Bulma stayed in the courtyard to continue practicing her flight. Having accidentally vaporized the Earth once already, she was considerably more cautious this time.

In the quiet hours of the early morning, a crisp, joyful voice rang out through the air.

"Lord Gran, look! I'm actually doing it! I'm flying!"

Bulma was hovering about ten meters above the ground. Gran let out a long yawn and looked up, squinting. "Is that so? Gold star for you. Truly magnificent."

Her talent was undeniable, but he was honestly just exhausted.

"You..." Bulma puffed out her cheeks in frustration. He was so incredibly annoying.

"Since you've got the hang of it, keep practicing. I'm going to bed," Gran said with a dismissive wave. He and little Broly turned to leave, but after a few steps, Gran glanced back over his shoulder. "By the way, try not to blow up West City while I'm asleep."

With that final jab, he and Broly disappeared into the house.

"That insufferable man!" Bulma hovered there, waving her fists in a mock-threatening gesture. Only after Gran's door shut did she stop shouting.

Suddenly, she looked down. "Wait, this is actually kind of high!" Her heart began to race. Since everyone else had gone to sleep, she didn't want to wake them just to help her down. "Okay, stay calm. How do I get down?"

She clutched her chest, taking deep breaths to steady herself. A cool night breeze brushed past her. After a few moments, she regained her composure. "Right... control the Ki."

She tried to manipulate her energy, but with a sudden whoosh, she shot up another ten meters.

"No, no! Less energy! Decrease it!" Bulma struggled to rein in her power until her body finally began a slow, steady descent. When her feet touched the grass, she jumped for joy. "I'm a genius! I really am the smartest person alive!"

Flush with excitement and having lost all desire to sleep, she spent the rest of the night mastering the Flight Technique.

The next morning, as Gran stepped out of his room, a dark blur streaked past him. He blinked and rubbed his eyes. It was Bulma.

"Lord Gran, look at me! I've mastered it!" she shouted, gliding through the air with effortless grace.

"Not bad," Gran admitted, genuinely surprised. It had only been a day, yet she was flying with more fluidity than Videl ever had in the early stages. Considering her body was currently packed with more Ki than an average Saiyan, it made sense she could sustain it so long.

"So, Lord Gran, how do I look? Pretty impressive, right?" Bulma flew down and landed in front of him, tilting her chin up proudly. She was thrilled she'd never have to be carried around like a helpless kitten again.

Gran's lip twitched. "Very impressive. Impressive enough to blow up a planet, at least."

"You jerk!"

Gran ignored her pouting and took Broly to the dining room for breakfast. They were preparing to leave Earth.

"Where are you two going?" Bulma asked, following them. She had overheard the conversation last night and knew Gran wouldn't be training for a while.

"To check on the Galactic Patrol Headquarters," Gran replied. Despite being a Destroyer candidate for so long, he hadn't actually visited their base yet.

The Galactic Patrol was an organization that essentially assisted the Supreme Kais in managing the universe. It was where the cannibalistic Moro had been imprisoned after his magic was sealed. More importantly, it was the home of Merus, an Angel-in-training. Gran wanted to see how many Saiyans Paragus had successfully recruited and if they were managing to "freeload" some training off Merus. If the Saiyans became an elite force for the Patrol, the mortal level of Universe 7 would naturally rise.

"The Galactic Patrol?" Bulma paused. The name sounded familiar. Suddenly, a realization hit her. "I remember now!"

"Remember what?" Gran asked with a smirk. He already knew she was thinking about her older sister, Tights.

"My sister left Earth years ago with a Galactic Patrolman named Jaco," Bulma said urgently. "She wanted to travel the universe to gather material for her novels, and she hasn't been back since. Can you take me with you?"

Gran remained silent for a moment.

"Lord Gran, please? Is it a no?" Bulma bit her lip, looking devastated. She truly missed her sister.

"To be honest, taking a piece of dead weight like you along sounds like a hassle," Gran said bluntly.

Bulma looked down at the floor, picking at her clothes.

"Fine," Gran sighed. "Go ask Whis. If he's willing to grant you the ability to survive in the vacuum of space, I'll take you."

"Yes! I knew you were the best!" Bulma cheered and bolted toward the dining room.

A few minutes later, she came flying back out. "I'm all set! I can survive in space now! Let's go find my sister!"

Gran was stunned. "How did you get him to agree so fast?"

Bulma grinned mischievously. "You told me yourself—find a delicacy Whis has never tried before, and he'll grant any request."

Gran slapped his hand onto his face. He had played himself.

"Let's just go," he grumbled.

"Thank you, Lord Gran!"

Gran took Broly's hand and let Bulma place hers on his shoulder. With a sharp snap of displaced air, the three of them vanished.

The Galactic Patrol Headquarters was situated at the very heart of Universe 7. It was a colossal space station, larger than Earth itself, with a constant stream of starships docking and departing.

Three figures suddenly materialized on a landing platform.

"Quite impressive," Gran remarked, scanning the massive structure.

"So this is the Galactic Patrol HQ?" As a scientist, Bulma was immediately captivated by the sheer scale of the engineering.

"Stop daydreaming. Let's move," Gran led the way.

As they walked, he observed the patrolmen. They weren't all bug-eyed like Jaco; there were dog-headed aliens, cat-like humanoids, and beings with blue or yellow skin. Unfortunately, most seemed just as weak as Jaco.

It really is just Merus carrying this whole organization on his back, Gran thought. Fortunately, the addition of the Saiyans was about to change that.

They reached a massive central plaza filled with aliens from all over the galaxy. Some didn't wear patrol uniforms and were likely visitors or merchants. The trio's arrival didn't go unnoticed.

"Who are they?"

"I saw them at the entrance. They didn't arrive by ship—they just appeared out of thin air!"

"No way. And look at them; they aren't even wearing space suits. They must be one of those powerful races that can survive in a vacuum."

"Wait, they look like those Saiyans who joined the Patrol two years ago."

"Look at that kid! He has a tail wrapped around his waist. They really are Saiyans!"

"Since when could Saiyans survive in space?"

Gran smiled, ignoring the whispers. Bulma hummed a confident tune, while little Broly scanned the crowd, looking for someone.

Suddenly, a burly man with a buzz cut walked toward them, grumbling loudly.

"Dammit, Paragus... Planet Vegeta is gone, so why is he still bossing us around? And what's with him lately? Coming back with a power level of 1.5 million... is that even possible for a Saiyan?"

The man brushed past the trio. Gran glanced at him; he had a tail wrapped around his waist—definitely a Saiyan. His power level was around 1,000, and his energy was wild and unrefined, suggesting he hadn't received training from Merus yet. On his chest was the Galactic Patrol emblem—a stylized lightning bolt.

"Hold it right there."

The voice didn't come from Gran, but from little Broly. Gran looked at the boy and realized his usual innocent expression had been replaced by the cold, sharp gaze characteristic of his race.

The man, a Saiyan named Halen, stopped and turned around. "What do you want, brat?"

"You were just badmouthing my father," Broly said flatly.

Gran raised an eyebrow. Protecting his father's honor? This was getting interesting.

"You dare look at me like that? You're asking for—" Halen stopped mid-sentence. Something about the kid's eyes was terrifying. He instinctively reached for his scouter and switched it on.

Bang!

The device strapped to his ear instantly exploded into fragments.

The commotion had already drawn the attention of the other aliens in the plaza. As they turned their own scouters toward the trio...

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

The sound of exploding technology echoed across the square. Gran was a deity, so his power was undetectable, but when the scouters tried to calculate Broly's raw strength, they simply couldn't handle the load.

A heavy silence fell over the plaza. Everyone stood frozen, swallowing hard in fear.

"Who... who is your father?" Halen asked, his face draining of all color.

After being recruited by Paragus, he was given a new, high-end scouter capable of reading levels up to 2 million. And it had just shattered. What kind of monster was he looking at?

"Paragus is my father," Broly said without emotion.

"What?!" Halen collapsed onto the ground, his legs turning to jelly. He had just insulted the commander in front of the commander's own son. He was dead.

"Hmph. If I ever hear you disrespect my father again, I will kill you," Broly warned. He then tugged on Gran's sleeve and said softly, "Big brother Gran, let's go."

Gran nodded and continued walking without a word. As they left, Halen gasped for air, clutching his chest. "I... I'm alive?"

The other aliens watched in terror. So this was the son of Paragus.

As they approached the central command tower, Gran asked, "Broly, why didn't you finish him?"

"He didn't attack me. Why would I kill him?" Broly replied, his innocent demeanor returning instantly.

"But he insulted your father."

"Big brother, I'm not a total dummy anymore. I know my father used to just want to use me as a tool." Broly's voice was remarkably calm.

Gran stopped and took a good look at the boy. When they had first met on Vampa, Broly could barely speak. He had no social awareness and was little more than a hollow shell—stiff, silent, and stunted. Over the last two years, he had blossomed into an active, bright child who was surprisingly mature.

"You really aren't that little 'dummy' anymore," Gran smiled, ruffling Broly's hair before moving on.

They entered the command building and stepped into the main lobby. The hall was bustling with patrolmen and civilians seeking assistance.

"Welcome, Lord Gran!"

The moment Gran stepped through the doors, a deafening, synchronized roar of welcome shook the building. The sudden noise nearly gave the visiting aliens a heart attack. Bulma, who had followed behind, felt her heart skip a beat.

Standing at the front of a reception line were three figures: a large, red-faced man in Supreme Kai-style robes, a green, octopus-like creature, and a Saiyan. Behind the Saiyan stood a dozen elite soldiers, all standing at attention.
