During the car ride, I mostly talked to Nola, and she explained many of her shenanigans to me. For example, the time when she deadpan looked at her bully from daycare, which pissed the kid off for some reason according to Ren.
Like, how does a 2-year-old know how to annoy her bully?
Eventually, we got back to my place and he dropped me off. As I opened the door and waved goodbye, I said in most friendly voice.
"Bye Nola!"
Nola waved back at me.
"Bye unwol Kevin!"

As I started to turn around and walk towards my place, I heard a voice call out to me.
"What about me, huh? No goodbye for me?"
It was Ren. He had his usual teasing grin plastered on his face.
"Nope."
I immediately replied smiling back, he needed a taste of his own medicine.
Shocked by my reply he muttered under his breath.
"Tch, who even taught you to be so, so…"
"So what, huh?"
Provoking him didn't seem to do any better though because in that instant he rolled up his window and drove away.

I woke up the next morning to a thundering sound.

I got up to brush my teeth hurriedly because I'm usually late.

It was completely gray outside due to the clouds and rain so I could clearly see my bright phone that said 8:34am.

The moment I got there I spotted Ren sitting on a bench outside the Leviathan building, then I ran to him and sat next to him.

The sound of rain pouring on to the ground was everywhere, almost as if it meant to interrupt me. Why did it suddenly start raining again? It wasn't raining like just a second ago.
"Whelp, good thing I brought an umbrella."
Because I wanted the umbrella to mostly cover Ren, I Scooched closer to him.
I opened up the umbrella and put it over both of us, but mostly over him, shielding out all the rain from hitting Ren.
I guess he thought he was supposed to move closer to me because he moved closer too.

Our shoulders touched.

Suddenly the rain felt lighter on the umbrella. For some reason our touching of shoulders seemed to calm the clouds of their crying a bit.

I turned to look at him but all I saw was the floating blue screen that helped me with most of my troubles, the system.
Reading the bright words, my whole face turned red.
Well, I can't see my face, but it surely has to be red considering the temperature I'm feeling in my upper body.
