Chapter 14 - **After the Thaw**

The morning after that night in the park, Sam woke up in her own bed with sunlight filtering through black curtains. Her body still carried the memory — a pleasant ache between her thighs, faint marks on her hips and shoulders where his hands had gripped her, and the lingering warmth of being so completely filled.

She lay there for a long moment, staring at the ceiling covered in glow-in-the-dark stars she'd never bothered to take down. Her heart was beating faster than normal, not from fear, but from a swirling mix of emotions she couldn't quite name yet.

First came the rush of satisfaction. Last night had felt… right. Not rushed or shallow like some of the awkward fumbling she'd heard about from other girls at school. He had taken his time with her, listened to every sound she made, adjusted to what made her moan louder. The way his 9-inch cock had stretched and filled her so completely had been intense in the best way — a deep, satisfying pressure that had pushed her over the edge twice before he finally let go inside her. She could still feel the ghost of those thick, hot pulses.

But satisfaction quickly gave way to something softer. Vulnerability.

Sam pulled the blanket tighter around herself. She had always been the strong one — the goth rebel who didn't need anyone, who fought for what she believed in even when the whole town rolled their eyes. Last night she had let herself be seen. Really seen. Not just her body, but the parts she usually kept hidden: the fear that she was too much, the worry that no one would ever truly understand her passion for making the world better. He hadn't laughed. He hadn't tried to "fix" her. He had simply been there, steady and hungry for all of her.

That scared her a little.

She sat up, hugging her knees to her chest. What if this changed everything? What if he saw her as just another conquest now that he'd had her? What if Danny found out and it ruined their friendship? What if she had given away too much of herself too soon?

Yet beneath the fear was a quiet, glowing warmth. For the first time in a long time, she felt desired for who she truly was — the passionate, opinionated, slightly chaotic girl who cared too much. He had made her feel beautiful and powerful even while she was trembling and moaning beneath him. The memory of his low groans and the way his hands had held her like she was something precious made her cheeks flush all over again.

Her phone buzzed on the nightstand. A simple text from him:

"Good morning. Hope you're feeling okay after last night. I'm thinking about you."

Sam stared at the message for a long moment, a small, genuine smile tugging at her lips. No pressure. No bragging. Just genuine care.

She typed back quickly:

"I'm good. More than good, actually. Last night was… intense. In the best way. Thank you for making me feel safe."

She hit send before she could overthink it, then flopped back onto her pillows with a soft laugh. Her heart was still racing, but now it felt lighter.

The emotional aftermath wasn't just one feeling — it was a beautiful mess. Excitement for what might come next. Nervousness about how this would fit into her already complicated life with Danny and the ghosts. A deep, quiet happiness that someone finally saw her and wanted her exactly as she was. And underneath it all, a growing hunger to feel him again — that thick, steady 9 inches stretching her, filling her, making her come undone.

She touched her lips, still remembering the taste of him, and whispered to the empty room:

"I think I'm in trouble… the really good kind."

Later that day at school, when she saw him in the hallway, their eyes met across the crowd. Sam felt a rush of heat flood her face, but she didn't look away. Instead, she gave him a small, secret smile — the kind that said "I remember every second."

He returned it with a calm, knowing look that made her thighs press together involuntarily.

The thaw had begun inside her too.

And she wasn't sure she wanted it to stop.
