Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Xander Lowe Is on the Verge of Tears! Sophia Hong's Reward!

"I saved someone! I didn't do anything wrong! Why are you arresting me??"

He had practiced medicine in the village alongside his grandfather and had never needed any medical license.

As it turned out, the moment he stepped into the bustling metropolis, he was arrested precisely because of this?

If not for his grandfather's strict teachings not to lay a hand on police officers, Xander Lowe would have already broken free and escaped.

At this very moment, Xander was handcuffed to a cold metal chair. A blinding interrogation light shone directly on his face, making it almost impossible for him to open his eyes.

He was on the verge of tears.

A while ago, his grandfather had passed away and told him to come to Magic City to marry his fiancée, Quinn Ning. That way, he would have someone to rely on.

Today was his very first day in Magic City. He had been dazzled by the prosperity, looking left and right like a country bumpkin.

He had just saved a person, thinking it would make that young beauty look at him with admiration.

Xander had even started imagining how many children they would have in the future.

But the result? He had made a complete fool of himself and was thrown straight into a detention center by the police.

He was the successor of the Country Divine Doctor, after all! According to his grandfather, shouldn't a bunch of big shots be surrounding him, fawning over him, and begging him to treat them at any cost?

How did it end up like this?

Xander was teary-eyed!

Just then, a beautiful policewoman walked past outside the interrogation room.

Xander's eyes lit up with hope. He prayed that this policewoman would come in to interrogate him.

As the successor to the Divine Doctor's Treasure Book and possessing Extraordinary Medical Skill, he was naturally well-versed in observation, listening, questioning, and pulse diagnosis.

He could tell at a glance that this policewoman had a poor complexion and hidden injuries. He could showcase his skills during the interrogation.

Not only would he get out of the detention center, but he could also win the favor of this beautiful policewoman.

Xander calculated his plan, feeling smug inside.

"Lu Yan, are you coming to interrogate this kid?"

"No, I've been transferred to the Major Crimes Unit in the central district. You guys can handle these trivial matters!"

"Ah, then congratulations! This has always been your wish!"

"Yes, I also have to thank a big shot named Shen for mentioning it to Director Zhang."

A deep, satisfied smile appeared on Lu Yan's capable face. Being transferred to the Major Crimes Unit in the central district had always been her dream — far better than handling these small, insignificant cases.

She originally thought it would take a few years to fulfill her wish, but she hadn't expected a big shot named Shen to casually mention it to Director Zhang, making her dream come true so quickly.

In a private room of a high-end restaurant not far away, Madison — who was currently massaging and performing acupuncture on Sophia Hong — curled the corner of her lips into a pleased smile.

That "big shot named Shen" was naturally her!

Luna Yan was also one of the destined heroines originally meant for the Country Divine Doctor. If she stayed here, she would inevitably interact with Xander Lowe, and sparks would likely fly through back-and-forth encounters.

Madison had directly pulled the rug out from under him by having her transferred away, keeping Luna Yan far from Xander's reach.

Furthermore, she had already issued orders to plant her own elite guards around the destined heroines — Luna Yan, Sophia Hong, and even Quinn Ning — to both protect and monitor them.

As for why she didn't simply kill Xander Lowe?

Because he was currently the only other Child of Destiny. Madison intended to conduct various experiments with him. It wouldn't be as fun if she killed him outright. However, she also wouldn't let him live for too long — just in case any unexpected mishaps occurred!

"Policewoman sister, don't go! You have hidden injuries — I can cure you…"

Inside the interrogation room, seeing Luna Yan about to leave, Xander became anxious, as if he were about to lose something precious.

Luna Yan glanced coldly at him, then said to her colleague:

"This kid who practices medicine illegally and harasses people looks very dishonest. You must interrogate him strictly and uphold justice!"

"The Major Crimes Unit in the central district is urging me to report immediately. Time is urgent!"

"I don't know why they're pushing so hard. Otherwise, I could have interrogated this kid and stood my last post. I'm leaving…"

As her voice faded, in Xander's stunned gaze, the beautiful policewoman Luna Yan ran out of the interrogation room without looking back.

"Stay still!"

Watching Xander scream, a young officer pressed the high-intensity light directly in front of his face and asked sternly:

"Xander Lowe, someone reported you for illegal medical practice and harassment. Confess honestly — leniency for those who confess!"

"We are cracking down on illicit activities strictly and severely these days. We absolutely will not allow a black sheep like you to tarnish the image of Magic City. Don't even think about leaving until you confess everything clearly!"

Xander was dumbfounded, on the verge of tears!

At this moment, in the private room of the high-end restaurant, Madison looked extremely pleased.

"Ring ring!"

Just then, a shrill cell phone ringtone sounded.

Sophia Hong gave a start, jumped up from the sofa, and glared at Madison with annoyance that had zero lethality.

"Don't speak!"

Sophia put her finger to her lips, then answered the phone:

"Mom, yes, yes… I'll be back right away…"

After hanging up, Sophia turned to Madison with a flushed face:

"My mom wants me to go home. It's very late now, and she won't let me stay out overnight!"

"Also…"

Speaking of this, Sophia looked at Madison gratefully and said:

"Your medical skills are amazing. I feel much better now — no more palpitations or difficulty breathing! Thank you!"

[Ding! Detected Destined Heroine Sophia Hong's favorability +30, plundered +90,000 destiny value!]

Madison smiled with graceful elegance:

"It's nothing. Wait until next time, and we will continue the treatment."

Subsequently, the two exchanged contact information.

Sophia looked at Madison's smiling face, hummed softly, and said:

"How much is the medical fee? I'll transfer it to you right now!"

Madison raised an eyebrow and looked at Sophia with a smile that was not quite a smile:

"No need. You've already paid the medical fee."

In total, Sophia had given her tens of thousands of destiny value. To Madison, this was worth far more than hundreds of millions of dollars!

Sophia misunderstood completely. Her pretty face instantly flushed red. She glared at Madison with annoyance and said coquettishly:

"If I had known you were so excessive, I wouldn't have let you treat me. Hmph, bad guy."

Madison raised her eyebrows, dropped the teasing topic, and asked gently:

"Where is your home? I'll take you back."
