Chapter 74 - New job

As I walked through my new ship, I got several new tickets from the gacha.

[Gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Gold Ticket] (Brocoso)

[Gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Diamond Ticket] (Shadow_solder7 donated 9 power stones. Yay!)

I spun them as I gazed out of a viewport.

[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]

[Frost Legion]

Rare Familiar

Terraria - Allows you to summon the Frost Legion, a horde of sentient, murder-happy gangster snowmen wielding weapons like hardened ice knives, Tommy guns, ice grenades, etc. The number of snowmen you can summon at once depends on your maximum energy. The minimum amount is 50. If a snowman gets killed, you recover 1 snowman every 1 hour. If you have frost/Ice affinity, the snowmen get stronger.

[Mineral Weaver]

Rare Familiar

A large, 5-meter-tall spider that can consume and digest any mineral and produces silk at a supernatural rate. The weaver's silk takes on the properties of whatever she eats. If she eats iron, it will have the durability of iron while maintaining the flexibility and advantages of silk. And they also have the combat ability befitting a bus-sized spider.

Not bad. These would be useful for whatever I come up with in the future. Not needed now, but helpful later.

Despite all the things I'd been through, from meetings a ROB, fighting alongside Star and Stripe, to even meeting the freaking Forerunners at the height of their power, nothing was cooler than my ship right now.

A/N-Since no one voted, lame, I just threw the options into a wheel and got the Gloriana-Class Battleship, scaled down obviously.

Despite their displeasure with the 'barbarity' of my design, I still thought the ship looked amazing. It was massive; even with millions of Sentinels still finishing the insides of the vessel, it was easy to feel like you were all alone.

Of course, the real Gloriana-Class Battleships from 40k are EVEN BIGGER! How the Mechanicum was able to make them, I have no idea. I do know that I'll be making lots of these, however.

Already, a crew had been assigned to the ship and was getting used to it. I was technically the guy in charge, but the Princeps was the Captain of the ship. We'd met a few times already; he seemed surprised that I was not a Forerunner, but we hadn't had any problems yet.

[Get your very own spaceship, 1x Gold Item]

Sweet! Spin it!

[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]

[Unbreakable Blade]

Rare Item

A simple, sharp steel longsword that is completely unbreakable and undamageable.

Nice! I'd probably use this to mess with ONI in the future, maybe the Covenant as well.

Right now I was simply walking and flying around the ship. Since it was simply a scaled-down Gloriana, there were plenty of spaces where I could summon my familiars and just let them loose after making sure they wouldn't go wild.

Ridley, Lust, and the Elemental twins were currently just running around; IG-88 was doing the same as he mapped every inch of the ship. The Mineral Weaver and Zinogore had claimed rooms of their own. Neither was near the other, but both knew where the other was.

The Frost Legion had also gotten their own area of the ship, near the reactors or whatever. They'd turned several rooms into winter wonderlands; I didn't mind, and the Sentinels didn't care, so it was fine. Maybe I shouldn't have given them the Altar of Water? Ah, it'll be fine!

The Stay Cat was actually on the bridge. I'd tried to take it somewhere else, but the Navarchs stopped me; they found the creature fascinating and liked petting it, so I left it there.

Since all of the familiars were doing stuff, I was left alone for the most part, and I didn't like being alone with my thoughts. So, I started messing with things on the ship. The Librarian and Didact were called back to Maethrillian for something, so I spent most of my time arguing with the Builders finishing the ship.

I asked for more guns; they said no. I asked for bigger guns; still no. I asked for them to paint the Didact's face on the side of the ship; I got a laugh, but still no. I ended up having to negotiate with them so they would add more 'primitive' weapons to my ship.

I obviously pushed hard for a Super Heavy MAC cannon running from bow to stern. They didn't like it, but thought the idea was interesting. That one was a maybe, but they had agreed to place hundreds of torpedo tubes on the ship.

The best part, though? Convincing the Builder in charge of this to make me several 'escort' ships, my own design, of course. Did these escort ships have to look like the Infinity? Nope, but they sure did look cool.

The escort ships were actually done before the main ship was, since I kept adding things last minute, which was every time I thought of something cool. So I still had another week until my flagship was finished, but now I was busy detailing the various escort ships.

I obviously gave everything names. My flagship's full Ecumene name would be: Gloriana-Class Destroyer, Vengeful. Remember that; it's a surprise tool for later.

The other four 'escort' ships would be called Infinity-Class Frigates. Because that's what they'd be to the Forerunners. FRIGATES!

Anyway, the lead one was obviously the Infinity; I couldn't help myself. The other three were the Hopeful, Star Chaser, and Creative. Shoot me, I miss them. Anyway, I was busy messing with the Builders for days on end when I wasn't training with Ridley; ie, tearing each other to shreds.

I had just finished another spar with Ridley when the Librarian returned, with bad vibes. I could tell something had happened since she was frowning, and I'm pretty sure it had something to do with why the Didact wasn't here.

"Has Faber started?" I asked right off the bat, and she nodded. "The Didact still holds sway, and thus is allowed to try and prove his fortress worlds are worth investing in, but the Master Builder is gaining more power by the cycle."

I grimaced at the idea of Faber in power. I'd only met the Master Builder once, and read a few books on him, but I didn't like him. Still, his work would be useful if misguided in the end, so I'll salvage what I can.

"I'm guessing you're here to finally put me to work?" She nodded and handed me a data-slate; it had a map of the galaxy with several highlighted points. "I wish to begin my work early. If what you've told us is true, indexing the races of the galaxy is paramount."

I nodded and started going down the list of the various aliens I would soon come into contact with. "My ship and its escorts should be finished by the month's end. I will make my way here first. I also plan on securing individuals to ride out the long wait alongside me."

"If you don't mind, I also have another request. I need technology schematics to save for the future; I fear the Domain will not last." She frowned at that but must have seen the reasoning behind it, since I'd told her and the Didact about the Halos and their effects.

"I cannot deliver them to you, but if you strike a deal with various Builders during your travels, I'm sure you will find what you need." She departed, and I returned to the slate as I prepared my familiars for our first stop, Sanghelios.
