Chapter 5 - Stay with Me...

She was a goddess...

She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen... No, this wasn't a woman. She was much, much more than that.

And my type too!

Dark long flowing hair with red hues and streaks along the hair framed her pale face perfectly, the strands shifting slightly even though there was barely any wind in the cavern.

Her eyes were unusual; red pupils with five-pointed, upside-down golden stars in each one.

It looked exactly like that mark of the devil thing I used to see goth kids freaking over in old forum posts.

Her eyes were the most beautiful things in the room, pulling my countless golden orbs toward them.

But they were still unnerving, making me feel like I shouldn't stare too long or something bad might happen.

She wore this tight body-hug outfit; dark tight pants that clung to her long legs and a medieval regal long red jacket worn over a neck-long dark cloth underneath.

The fabric looked expensive, heavy, and it moved with her like it had its own subtle life.

Apart from her beauty and majesty... she was totally a giant!

No, really, I mean she was massive.

I know I might be currently shorter than a regular human, just a grey blob on the floor, but she still seemed towering so much.

Her presence filled the high-ceilinged space, making the jagged rocks above look kind of smaller.

How tall is she, Gabriel?

{Answer: The individual seated on the throne measures precisely 20 feet in height from the base of her feet to the tip of her horns, based on current visual triangulation and mana density mapping.}

Ah, she actually answered that.

And I actually thought it'd be 12 feet!

20 feet is a lot.

She was as tall as a story building then.

My multiple perspectives kept adjusting, some eyes tilting upward from floor level while others focused from higher angles on my own lumpy surface, trying to take in the full scale.

And her large long claws.

She was barefooted, so I could see the claws on her toes too; dark, curved, and sharp enough to look like they could carve through the stone floor if she wanted.

Two dark pairs of curved, bull-like horns rose from her head, polished and imposing.

She was a queen, certainly. And the way she was smiling at me...

And then it slipped out before I could stop anything.

"...So gorgeous..."

"Hahaha! You never fail to amuse me, small one!" Her physical laughter boomed outward as she bent her head to laugh, glinting fangs coming into view between her lips.

The sound rolled through the cavern like thunder, making the glowing crystals flicker and sending vibrations that traveled straight into my grey flesh. "Is that the first thing you say? Did my eyes not scare you to madness?"

Ah!!

Somehow, as I wanted to think she was hella pretty, the flesh around one part of me tore open with a wet rip, and a jagged mouth formed there, speaking my thoughts outward with this croaky voice of Satan himself!

It echoed off the walls, sounding raw and unnatural.

Ugh, I sounded like Krampus!

It was somewhat embarrassing, so I opted to use the mental link instead, quickly closing that new mouth with a squelch as my body bounced in frantic little ripples across the floor.

[That wasn't something I wanted you to hear!] I quickly explained myself, my blob form still jiggling from the sudden outburst.

"It is fine. Many are too afraid of me to give me a real compliment," she nodded, shifting into her seat with clear pride.

The throne groaned slightly under her weight as she adjusted, one clawed hand resting on the armrest. "Now, I have fulfilled my part of the bargain... You know what to do..."

Uh-oh... I forgot about the deal we made.

Damnit, if I had just tried harder on my own, I could have gotten my sight without the promise.

[I understand...] A promise was a promise. [What do you want me to do now?] I asked her through the mental link, keeping my tone as neutral as possible.

But... actually, what CAN I do for her in this rocky large space?

My golden eyes swiveled in all directions, taking in the details again now that I had full control.

The writhing slug-maggot creatures continued their endless crawling nearby, wet bodies slapping against the leveled stone floor, tongues flicking out to taste the air or each other.

One skeleton lay half-buried in a corner, poor guy, bones picked mostly clean, one arm still reaching toward nothing.

The ornate wall carvings caught the crystal light in strange patterns, while the raw cave sections dripped slow moisture that plinked into small puddles.

She began again, her red eyes with those golden stars locking onto me on the ground, the star points seeming to turn slowly.

"Good. You are obedient despite your insolence..." Her deep voice resounded as she regarded me, the words vibrating through the space. "For helping you, I want you to... talk and stay with me for two decades."

"Two decades is a long time," I interrupted her immediately, my gross scary voice resounding again as another jagged mouth tore open on my surface without warning.

The croaky sound bounced around the cavern walls. "My plan was to go out and conquer the world as soon as possible. Can you reduce some years? Like maybe, 10 years from it...?"

"..."

Fuck...

I completely forgot this wasn't the office! This wasn't a damn business negotiation!!

She looks arrogant, so maybe no one has ever refuted her before.

Her eyes on me narrowed as she stayed silent, the golden stars in her pupils seeming to sharpen.

The air in the cavern grew heavier, pressing down on my blob form from all sides.

And an eerie fog-like pressure built around me, cold and prickling across every golden eye and every inch of grey flesh.

It wasn't visible, but I could feel it—like invisible needles dancing on my surface, making some of my eyes flutter shut involuntarily while others widened.

{Notice: this is the manifestation of bloodlust}.

B-Bloodlust?!

The sensation crawled over me, making parts of my mass instinctively tighten and ripple as if trying to pull away.

It pressed harder, the weight of it settling into my core like a slow, building threat.

Okay, I should apologize no—

"Very well..." The bloodlust subsided as the stranger looked away, distant and a bit... sad. Her shoulders lowered slightly on the massive throne, the red jacket shifting with the movement. "I commend your stance, despite your promise... Staying here with me must be... boring. Allow me to choose anothe—"

"No." I cut her off again, another mouth forming on my blob to push the words out in that same croaky tone.

I don't know much about women, and I mostly neglected my little sister into a brother complex so complete she needed exorcism back in the old world.

But what I want right now?

That sullen face on that goddess needs to go.

My croaky, non-sexy voice resounded once more;

"A decade is totally absurd... But... I can stay here and talk with you now... You're bored, right?"
